The Necromancers

The Necromancers
Ch. 2:Hellhound Death

Every time Regard searched the room, he always met a new monster that he did not know.

Starting from large worms that are able to camouflage into a wall, butterflies that are able to blend with darkness, lizards and frogs that are able to make anyone affected by the attack turn into stone and break, and break, as well as scorpions that were able to make poison spread just by shooting it at his enemy, all of them were foreign monsters to him.

"How many are they in these ruins?"

Upset at his ignorance in exploring the ruins in the depths, Regard took a small bottle of blood to drink.

Because he was in the middle of the floor, he made some glass rocks around him, and guards in the form of [Skeleton Knight] to keep an eye on the conditions outside.

"Did they make it to seal someone or was there another reason why they did it?"

Still not knowing what the ruins meant, Regard's head looked up at the ceiling of the ruins.

Above the sky it is clear that rocks in the form of material ores can be found. Especially since he used to know the good quality of the material ores or not, he decided to take some of them for his use in a desperate state.

The Regard POV

"....."

Stopped for a moment, I saw the room in front that looked different from the other room.

How strange.

"Why is there a different room in this place?"

Feeling that something was amiss, I picked up the Dual Knife from behind the storage bag in the back to be thrown at the two statues that were on the side of the room.

There was no sign that they were moving.

That's good, but I still doubt it.

If I go ahead and open the door, I'm sure they'll move to prevent me from opening the door of the room, which means it's a trap that's been set up and set up for someone like me. When I let my guard down, I will be gone a second time in this world.

"Huh.. okay. There seems to be no other choice."

Squatting down and putting my hands on the ground, I focused the mana in thought on my arms.

Maybe it'll take a little longer.

Imagining what I thought needed to be done, I opened my eyes and saw the results.

Not too bad.

The appearance in front of me can be said to be quite perfect when viewed in terms of appearance.

As for abilities and strength, I added some into my body to find out if the room was a trap or not.

Well, just in case there was anything, I also prepared an additional tool that was [Destruction] for him to turn into a large-scale explosive.

"alright. Forward now!"

Following my orders, he advanced towards the room with both statues on both sides of the room.

•••••

A loud bang filled the room.

Behind the scattering dust, a man with a black robe and hood on his head fell from a height due to the explosion made by the monster holding him back.

"Dam. Why did this happen!?"

Recalling back to the previous events, the man initially thought that his plan had been a success, but he had misjudged it.

A moment ago.

"I'm counting on you, my shadow!"

Hiding behind a huge stone pillar propping up the room, the man's gaze, Regard was fixed on a shadow that led up to the room with two statues on either side of the room that had Hellhound-like appearance.

Nothing happened huh.

Approaching the door and intending to open it, the two statues on both sides of the room sounded a crack then broke and turned into a Hellhound figure that leapt in front of Regard.

"I thought they'd live as soon as I approached them."

Looking from a distance, Regard's guess was correct. The two Hellhound statues, which had not moved before, moved to attack him, which could be interpreted to mean that in the room that contained both Hellhound statues, there was a secret hidden behind everything. The secret itself Regard was certain to have something to do with the painting he encountered during his entry into the Sylvia Ruins.

Near the door of the room, Regard who was on both arms raised the [Black Sword] and changed his casual appearance after taking a short break earlier, he prepared to charge straight towards one of the Hellhounds.

The Hellhound who knew that he was going to crash head-on, prepared to slash at him with its claws.

Dodging his claws, Regard quickly slashed the air towards the Hellhound.

The black fog previously seen on the tip of the sword hit the Hellhound's body, causing the Hellhound a slight pain over its wound.

It's working?

In an instant, the Hellhound that was silent in place rushed to attack Regard.

Its originally open mouth gave rise to small particles with a blood red color that slowly formed into a large ball. After growing in his mouth, the Hellhound immediately bit him and then aimed its attack at the Regard.

It was a Blood Shooter that was able to damage the body of anyone who was hit by his attack in an instant could perish.

(Blood Shooter, a shot that results from small balls that slowly enlarge, bitten and then fired which is able to cause the enemy affected by his attack will disappear his soul out of his body, the body will be destroyed after the spirit goes to another realm)

Ignoring his footwork, Regard immediately floated in the air and disappeared in an instant to immediately dodge the shot that the other Hellhound had fired at him.

Even though he managed to dodge it, he had been hit by a slight attack from the Blood Shooter which could make his soul slightly drawn out of his body but was held back thanks to his own strength and ability.

Damnit. They're so powerful.

Noting the condition of the Hellhound hit by his attack, Regard suspected that the defense possessed by the two Hellhounds was high enough that it was difficult to penetrate in the usual way.

Moreover, the wounds received earlier by Black Sword could be healed easily using Booster Heal which made his wounds heal in an instant.

Booster Heal, instant healing resulting from minor or fatal injuries, the user can do with a little where in the body so it is safe to reduce the amount of mana in the use of this ability.

The two Hellhounds groaned and bowed their bodies. On his four legs on both Hellhounds were lightning sparks that could be seen by Regard.

It's grim!

Activating the protectors from the darkness of his own, Regard used the Dark Shield around his body. He also had time to activate Acceleration to be able to move quickly in order to avoid the attack that would be carried out by the two Hellhounds on him.

(Dark Shield, a black-colored protector that has the appearance of a thick black fog surrounding the user's body, this protector is able to withstand physical attacks and magic so it is useful for any condition, such as, but weak against purgatory and neutral attacks. Dark Shield falls into the same category as the weapons in the Change Weapon so it makes it easier for the user to use it)

(Acceleration, speed in moving and moving easily in a short time, this is useful without the need to use mana but physical conditions that must be able to adapt to the speed that can be used as well as possible)

"Raaaaaarrrrh!"

The two Hellhounds shouted out loudly then charged straight towards Regard.

Regard smiled confidently jumping back from where he was. However when he retreated, one of the Hellhounds disappeared and appeared right behind him.

In his claws were lightning sparks that were ready to tear his body apart.

Impossible. How could he possibly be so fast?

Before his claws hit Regard's body, he immediately disappeared in place and appeared in the distance.

Had Regard been careless by assuming they were weak, he would have died by the two Hellhounds who were ready to tear his body apart.

Looks like this is going to be a life and death situation huh.

Releasing the Dark Shield around him, Regard focused on attacking him.

In an instant the air around the Regard seemed to increase. Lightning sparks, dark colored mana that had been seen on both legs, and his pair of black eyes began to be clearly visible from his appearance. Behind his back, a pair of black wings began to grow and flap his wings in the empty air, as well as a pair of horns that began to appear on his head.

Demon Mode's.

In a terrifying and terrifying form, Regard had activated his strongest ability Demon Mode.

(In Demon Mode he would be fine without anyone being able to injure his body, but instead he would have to feel the overflowing negative emotions from within his own heart. Not only will negative emotions overflow from the heart, Regard will also feel an unbearably strong hunger that cannot satiate his own stomach from the thirst for blood.

Demon Mode, a demon mode that could not be harmed either physically or by magic, any attack had no effect on Demon Mode but only one, purification magic capable of defeating it. Within those abilities; attack, speed, strength increased drastically to the maximum limit, but instead the user had to be enveloped by the negative emotions within him in order to be able to use the Demon Mode ability)

"....."

Disappearing in an instant, the two Hellhounds looked around to ascertain where the Regard was.

"Death, Lowly Being!"

In a great great power, one of the Hellhounds hit by a shot from Regard's Dark Lance grimaced in pain.

(Dark Lance, another weapon produced from darkness belonging to the user that is able to change from Black Sword to Dark Lance. It was very effective in battles that did not have to worry about the rust in the weapon, as well as its sharpness that was stronger than ordinary spears was really useful in combat.

Dark Lance can be used as a weapon or in large quantities, depending on the user's desire to use it)

Not missing the opportunity, Regard darted quickly to one of the Hellhounds.

"Feel this!"

With his legs contained in the power of darkness, Burst Kick hit the Hellhound's head in an instant and exploded in a matter of seconds.

(Burst Kick, a kick that results from an explosion that comes from a strong wind that is able to destroy anything just by kicking it. Burst Kick is strong enough to finish off enemies, even his prowess can be said to be superior to any ability, he said, but instead which one is obtained by the user in large quantities should be used to launch Burst Kick)

Blood flowed profusely at the Hellhound's neck due to its exploding head. The splashes of blood rained all over the place, soaking Regard's clothes.

Now the final attack!

Although the two Hellhounds were unable to move, Regard took advantage of the opportunity once again to eliminate them.

At the height of the ceiling, a large number of black-colored balls began to fuse together. Slowly the ball grew bigger, changing its color to blood red.

It was the Blood Shooter possessed by the Hellhound earlier who was ready to make the Regard as a corpse, but failed to do so.

Both of Regard's arms held him, closing both of his arms.

Dark Earthquakes.

(Dark Earthquake, the ability of the new version of Blood Shooter combined with the power possessed by Regard, the ability to manipulate darkness, it can be changed at will into jagged land in large numbers)

Surprisingly, the land that initially seemed ordinary turned jagged and churned to form an earthquake. The ground then changed its shape to black and then pierced every member of the Hellhound.

Blood started to come out in each stab that was stuck in the bodies of the two Hellhounds.

Noting from the ceiling that this was the end, Regard immediately activated Dark Wind to be able to set his foot on the surface of his black colored wind.

(Dark Wind, Black vortex capable of use as a foothold or attack, all depending on what the Regard will be used for)

Finishing his ability, Demon Mode was released from his body which left him staggered, exhausted and overwhelmed in bearing the weight he had used as a result of his own body.

"I hope it's over."

Although Regard was not sure if this was the end, he could only be sure that the victory was within his reach.

Although the side effects of Demon Mode were felt in his body, he still retained as much as possible his consciousness as a human.

The Regard POV

Resting for a moment, I took some Hellhound blood and meat for me to eat and eat immediately. Because I was tired, I couldn't just walk into this different room in the weak state I am today.

Well, I hope I can recover as soon as I eat his flesh and blood.

Since the negative emotions of the Necromancer class were able to calm down after enjoying the flesh and blood, maybe I will decide to enter the room after my body has fully recovered.

It's really exhausting.

Fighting against monsters, exploring the ruins, fighting life and death against the Hellhound, everything I did alone without anyone accompanying me.

To be honest I have no problem with the solitude I have, but somehow it feels lonely if I really live in solitude.

I want to have friends and associates I can trust.

Even though it was impossible to materialize, I somehow wished that there would be someone who could accompany me on an adventure in this world.

Sasaki is not my friend so I consider her to be the only pet I can use.

A slave-free pet that can be useful in finding information while I am not in Farihiora City.

I admit that it's too much, but what's okay to do, as long as he's in protection, I can use it at will.

Well, I myself did not want him to join the fight because he was still far below the average ability of other humans so I deliberately placed him in the city as the information center of me.

Let's take a look at it for a moment.

Ever since I went deeper and deeper into the ruins, I have mapped out the entire place on some paper that I managed to carry before.

Although I am not sure if this is accurate or not, I just feel that these ruins are dangerous for the novice adventurers who directly enter.

Not only would it take lives, there was a possibility that despair and hatred would appear in them when they knew that the Sylvia Ruins were a dangerous ruin for beginners.

What was in that room, huh? Is there a hidden treasure they keep or something they lock up in it?

I began to be interested and curious about the contents in the room that was different from the other rooms.

Sasaki POV's

Is Arthen okay?

Even though her words seemed reassuring, I was afraid that she would be gone when she let her guard down.

Huhhhhh...

Thinking of how strong he was, my heart felt doubtful that he was as weak and foolish as it was to die.

Just like how he saved me back then, he was willing to use his ability to save me.

I hope he's okay.

I don't know what he's doing, I can only think that he can go home safely with no injuries to his body.

That's all I want from him.
