"I know you're one of the demons" I'm Zayin.
"I also know you're a demon. Level seven, right?"
Zayin was annoyed by the trivial look Khun had shown him. The first time Zayin saw Khun and Shin enter the forest, he realized that Khun was not an ordinary human being. His mana energy was too powerful for a human to possess.
Almost all of Zayin's demons knew his face and name, except the 3 top-tier demons. He has never met the three.
Other than because they were too strong, the three of them had never mingled with the other demons in the underworld. So Zayin firmly believed that Khun was one of the three of them.
The huge energy Khun had put out to fight the undead earlier still felt extremely pressing on him. Obviously he was no match for Khun if they tried to fight.
But I swear to the great god that reigns in the sky that he will not leave Shin with this demon alone.
"I won't let you do anything bad to Shin. I don't care if you're a first-rate demon though I'll still advance against you."
Shin's reputation was indeed quite good in the lower realms. When news of Shin being sentenced to sleep for helping a demon make the underworld in an uproar.
Most of them admired Shin even before they met him in person, including Zayin.
Khun raised his eyebrows. Staring at Zayin for a moment before walking past Zayin just like that.
"Did you underestimate me? I can really fight you."
"Don't dream. You won't be able to fight me, even if I only use one finger" said Khun arrogantly.
"I don't care what you want to do anyway. Just do as you please" he added.
Khun went to disappear behind the bush leaving Zayin who was still upset to be underestimated so low.
Even if it was true that even a first-rate demon Khun was, what good was it to be arrogant?
...ooo...
Shin opened his eyes as the glare of sunlight and the melodious chirping of singing birds rang out in his ears.
The sun was already high enough and last night he fell into a deep sleep. Shin saw that Zayin and Khun's rope had been removed, obviously they had woken up first.
Shin saw Zayin who was still grinning daydreaming on one of the branches. I don't know what he was thinking until Shin got closer even though Zayin wasn't aware.
"Did you sleep well last night?"
Zayin jumped in shock and almost lost his balance. Surprised by the presence of Shin who was already next to him.
Luckily Shin immediately helped her to not fall.
Zayin looked at Shin sorrowfully. How could a god have this weak energy?
It was not that the gods were so evil to treat the gods as well as Shin was so unworthy.
Shin was still staring at Zayin warmly waiting for the answer of his question.
"Yes, I think so."
"good. Did you see where Khun went?"
"He's in the river. Maybe looking for fish" he replied kindly.
"Thank you. Then I'll catch up with him."
Zayin was actually lazy to be near Khun, but on the other hand he felt anxious if Shin had to be alone with Khun. In the end he decided to go with Shin to the river.
...ooo...
"This...did you not catch too many fish?"
Khun stopped his activities. Smiling at Shin who looked surprised to see a pile of fish by the river.
"I'm planning on making your stomach distended. You're too skinny." Khun stopped his fishing and got out of the river.
"It's been so able to make my stomach fall to the ground."
"good. I really want to see it."
Khun approached them.
"Oh right. I forgot to return this last night."
Shin handed over a sword belonging to Khun that he lent him last night.
"Save it, it's yours now. You'll need it again later."
"You sure I can have it?"
Khun nodded confidently. While Zayin was still staring at the interaction of the two from afar.
"I don't need your fish. I can find it myself."
Shin smiled.
"Come here, I'll help you make a fire. We eat fish together."
Forcibly Zayin sat next to Shin helping him make fire. Shin put the sword back in his arm pouch until a small pitcher fell down. Khun took the jug which stopped right next to his foot.
"Good joint, "praise Khun and give the object back to its owner.
"Thank you," Shin replied as he received his pitcher.
"It would be very useful to catch the devil."
"really? Up until now I had no idea what it was and how to use this pitcher."
"That's easy. When you come face to face with the devil, let them off guard and open the lid of the jug, then the demon will get caught in it."
"A little joint? Are they gonna be okay?"
Khun smiled at Shin's worried question. "They'll be fine. It's not as small as you think."
Zayin looked at Khun. What Khun is planning. Was that demon just going to surrender itself to Shin? Why would he explain how to catch himself? Doesn't Khun want to destroy that jug?
"Woahh, nice jug. Where'd you get it?" Zayin asked enthusiastically.
"From my parents."
Khun smiled wryly upon hearing Shin's reply. He handed some fish stitches ready to burn to Shin. Shin placed it near the fire and they sat in a circle facing the campfire.
"Khun, you know so much about demons. Can I ask you one thing?"
"Ask me. Ask me anything you want to know."
"Can demons live in the sky?"
Zayin looked at Shin confusedly. If the demons stayed in the sky of course there would be no underworld, right? Even to approach them they are not allowed. How could the devil dream of living in the sky?
"Maybe."
Zayin looked at Khun in disbelief. What nonsense is Khun talking about. Even if they kneel 1000 years will not be able to make a great god worship the devil.
"You know? The devil used to live in the sky. They were gods."
"During this time the great god has only ever created one demon" Khun added.
Did ya? Zayin just found out about this, "Who? Is that the demon king?" tanyanya was curious.
"Not."
"He's Aresh. Aresh was the first and last demon the great god had ever created" Shin replied.
"really. Even the demon king was originally a god, too" Khun explained.
Zayin closed his mouth in disbelief. Aresh is cruel and arrogant. Who knew he was the real devil?
"Why do you think the great god created Aresh?" ask Zayin curiously.
"Don't ask me. Ask the old man" Khun replied, taking one of the fish that had matured and giving it to Shin.
Zayin manganga in disbelief. Even this demon dared to call upon a grand god as an old man. It is a great and unforgivable sin. He should have become a demon. He doesn't even have manners on his own creator.
"This one is ripe" Khun explained as he gave Shin another fish.
Shin received the fish from Khun, "thank you."
This grilled fish is delicious. Shin ate the fish with pleasure while enjoying the chirping of morning birds and the debate of his two friends who had not stopped fighting over the fish.
Shin felt very comfortable here. Should he go back to the sky? Back to a place that didn't want her.
Shin breathed a long breath. "I don't want to go back" he said.
"What?"
"What?"
Ask Khun and Zayin simultaneously.
Shin simply smiled and told the two to continue eating the fish.
