The Empyrean's Reign

The Empyrean's Reign
Ch.3- Metamorphism

Brak!

"Good morning, Niel!"

Niel who was reading a book almost dropped his book because it was shocked by Enzo's speech.

"Knatch the door first before you want to enter my room! Basic, it's only been a few days and your spirit has recovered a hundred percent."

Enzo smiled wryly as he scratched his nape, "Hehe, what can I do. General Aldios told me that we will learn something special today!"

The sound of knocking on the door suddenly rang out, interrupting their conversation. Niel walked towards the door of his room and opened the door, a girl in a maid uniform carrying a trolley filled with food.

"I'm sorry I interrupted your rest, Mr. Arthos, Mr. Theodoric. But I have been assigned to deliver Mr. Arthos' breakfast today in place of the Chire Servant who is suffering from fever. Please allow this presumptuous me to enter Master's room so that I can arrange the table that you will use to eat."

"Ah, thank you for your hard work. Please come in."

"Thank you, sir."

Niel and Enzo's mouths gaped as they stared at the hand of the servant girl who was moving at the speed of light. Amazingly, the foods he held remained in perfect condition.

"Your breakfast has been prepared, sir. This breakfast menu is Golden Feathered Chicken Soup with Bread accompanied by Stellar Drink and Silk Choco Pudding. I hope you enjoy your breakfast. Excuse me." The girl with a smile that never faded then walked out of Niel's bedroom after transmitting herself.

"No matter how many times I see it, the servants here are indeed amazing. How can these foods remain in perfect condition after going through such a fast thing?"

"They've gotten used to it after doing it for years." Niel answered Enzo's question while sitting on the chair in front of his dining table. The man with blue sea iris then chose a spoon from many scoops neatly arranged to the right side of the table before finally starting to respond to breakfast.

"You're not having breakfast?" Ask Niel to Enzo. Enzo shook his head, "I asked them to deliver my breakfast at eight. An hour earlier than you, hehe."

Niel paused for a while before returning to ask, "For what?"

"To be able to talk to you!"

Niel looked at Enzo tiredly, "Do as you please."

***

"It's a very suspicious drink. What's with this shining white dot?" Niel closely watched the liquid inside the transparent glass.

Enzo shrugged his shoulders, "I also thought so at first, but because I choked so I drank it. It tastes like regular tea."

"really?" Niel looked back at Stellar Drink suspiciously before finally deciding to drink it. The look on Niel's face instantly turned ordinary, "You're right. It tastes like regular tea."

"Didn't you? At first I thought this Stellar Drink would taste similar to the strange drinks commonly sold in various Lazarus cafes."

"But what if this drink is poisonous?"

...

Geck... Geck... Geck...

"Mr Niel, it's me, Aldios."

"Please come in." Niel who had just wanted to curse himself was instantly distracted by the heavy voice of General Aldios.

"Good morning, Mr. Niel‐ Ah, it turns out Mr. Theodoric is already here. Then, it'll be a lot easier."

""?""

General Aldios scratched his cheek in confusion before his eyes widened like he was in awe, he clapped his hand with a smile, "Ah, look. The metamorphosis has already happened."

"What do you mean-ENZO?!"

"WHY?!" Enzo, who had only heard Niel scream for a long time, unconsciously shouted back to the young man.

"Your hair... Your hair is dyeing itself!"

***

"It's like the transformations in the movie B*rbie... The difference is that Enzo doesn't get a sparkling pink dress"

"Stop using that in comparison!"

Enzo nodded in annoyance as he gripped his now blonde hair.

"It is common for heroes to be summoned to this world. The color of your hair and eyes will change after drinking the drink that has been provided at breakfast. You have consumed a drink with a collection of light points like stars, right? The drink was called Stellar Drink." It was clearly a middle-aged man with a smoldering red hair color to the two young men before him.

"This transformation is called metamorphosis. It's useful to help us figure out which elements we have."

"Hee.. So.." The two young men breathed a sigh of relief. "But why didn't the waiter who had brought us breakfast say anything?" Ask Niel.

"Ah... That is why I immediately came to your room after my morning workout. Today the Chire Servant in charge of serving you has a fairly high fever. That was why he was replaced with a bionic robot sent by the Ehoarn Kingdom. Their robots are only able to receive some information so that more specific information cannot be relayed to them."

Niel and Enzo's eyes shone in amazement, "That girl was a robot?! That's just so amazing..."

"Alright, let's leave this conversation and move on to a more serious topic now."

General Aldios's face turned serious. Niel and Enzo who were looking at it involuntarily became tense and straightened their sitting position.

"As we can see, Mr. Enzo has a high affinity for the light element. I could see it from the glowing golden-colored Mana particles around it." General Aldios nodded his head while smiling happily.

"really? Am I going to be a priest?!"

"Eh..."

"Just ignore him, General. What about my situation?"

General Aldios held his chin while furrowing his brows. Niel who saw General Aldios' behavior became increasingly anxious that something was wrong with him.

"I have discussed your condition with Your Majesty.

His Holiness said that He had read about the life of a Hero who experienced the same thing as you, Mr. Niel. In the book it is said that the Hero woke up in a blond condition without consuming Stellar Drink in any form. He is the Hero of Rhysand Priel of the Second Generation Hero."

"...Priel Rhysand? I read his name in Guide to Zendia. From what I remember, he was the one who separated Crawford Village from The Forest of Death because the Forest was contaminating the Village."

"really. He is also the founder of the Library of the Wise. His obsession with knowledge was the key to his success in the face of The Corruption."

"The Corruption... The second disaster of the Five Forecasts of The Divine Apostle Cassandra?"
