The Empyrean's Reign

The Empyrean's Reign
Ch.10-Ziv and the Scary Man

"*******! ****, ***** ****-"

"Niel!"

A familiar occurrence is repeated when they use Transportation Point to return home to the city center. But the difference was that General Aldios was not beside them because the General was still in Bluetears Village to inform the villagers that the Azure He Wolf had been successfully removed.

"I'll never get used to using this fucking thing."

Niel patted the clothes he wore a few times to get rid of the perched dust. The desire to destroy the transportation technology that he held as strong as possible so that he did not trouble General Aldios.

"The general said we can relax and take a walk downtown until the afternoon before we return to the Palace. Look, he even gave me a map!" Enzo exclaimed with excitement while showing a map of Malchus City for tourists.

The pair of friends walked out of the Transportation Center while talking about their experience against the Azure He Wolf.

"The general said your abilities are expanding so rapidly, Niel! He said the last time you recited Swallowing Dusk's spell, the shadow ate the shadow of one of the royal servants."

"Please don't bring the incident up again." Niel frowned with ears that were reddened in embarrassment. He still wants to kill himself because of the events told by Enzo.

Enzo laughed mischievously and immediately changed the subject before Niel killed him, "We'd better go visit Old Lavi first and give the materials we got to make the stick. After that we can go to the Adventurers Guild to get an identity card."

Niel nodded signaling that he approved Enzo's suggestion. His mind then without a long time was disturbed back with the experience he had experienced in the Tregwey Forest after hearing the word 'stick' coming out of Enzo's mouth.

Niel breathed a heavy sigh.

***

One day ago.

Niel stared at the location where the deer had turned into a stick with a blank mind. Still frozen with the incident he had just seen with his own eyes.

His blue Netra then moved to look at the white stick that was in his grasp, staring at the thing in silence for not knowing what action to take now.

The stick has a white color with a blue accent that adorns it. The design is like a deer antler probably because this stick is actually derived from a deer that is able to make changes in shape to its own body.

The gold-colored winding lines that were exactly the same as the lines on the body of the deer he saw earlier seemed to decorate the entire body of the stick in his grasp. This made Niel even more convinced that the thing he saw earlier was not an imagination.

Verse.

"Agh! Hey, what the fuck are you?!"

Suddenly the tip of the stick crept out and slashed Niel's finger so that the blood of the young man dripped onto the aquamarine-blue gem that was in the middle of the handle and absorbed in. The sudden attack caused Niel to be startled and hissing, causing him to release his grip and drop the stick.

Before Niel could regain the wand, the thing in question had miraculously floated into his grasp.

"?"

Niel throws the wand in fear before being met with the same incident as before.

"Ah... I'm really going crazy."

Niel finally gave up after the wand remained comfortably in his grasp even though he had thrown dozens of times.

The 17-year-old then thought that maybe this stick could be used as a weapon so he no longer needed to find materials to give to Old Lavi.

"I'd better test it for a while. Fire Magic: The Blazing Rhythm."

The fire that would normally fall and pierce the ground somehow could suddenly easily arrive and burn the plants that were the target. Niel's eyes widened before staring at his staff with sparkling eyes.

'I also discovered that this wand could extend and shorten to my liking. My dear Ziv is really very convenient.

Well, although I want to be vigilant, this stick is too profitable to throw away.'

"...Means Niel, you don't need to be given a stick by Old Lavi anymore, do you?"

Niel's mind instantly blew away as Enzo held onto his shoulder as he asked a question. He then realized that the man of the Theodoric clan was talking to him and nodded slowly.

"Because I already have Ziv, I don't need any more weapons. So you'd better go to O'Smith, Enzo. I'll sit there for a while." Niel reasoned with the name of his staff before pointing to the left where they were standing now.

"Baiklaaaaah...?" Enzo squinted his eyes at Niel suspiciously although he eventually left after saying that he would be back in half an hour.

"Well..."

Niel heaved a sigh of relief because he finally escaped from Enzo's grip which was very chatty even though only for a moment. He then walked slowly towards the bench he had just pointed at his friend and opened the book he had recently loved.

Before starting his favorite activity, Niel without reason looked around to enjoy the atmosphere of the city and works of art that complement the beauty of Malchus City. While being cool to look around, somewhere easily caught his attention.

In the view of Niel, there is a magnificent fountain surrounded by a huge pool of water. The fountain is supported by mossy rocks that add the impression of a mystical fantasy. In the middle of the fountain, there is a statue of a handsome man wearing armor who pointed his sword towards the sky gallantly.

'It looks like it's a statue of a first-generation hero...'

Niel then realized that there was a large building whose color was dominated by white and gold behind the fountain. Without thinking it can be guessed that it is a church.

"I wonder why there are still people who have not done vandalism to the statue..." Niel muttered casually knowing that what he had just said could land him in prison for decades.

"Because this is the center of the sacred land of the human race. No one would dare to do anything stupid here. If anything, they will suffer the punishment upon us."

The heavy voice of a man suddenly sounded beside Niel. Niel was startled and immediately turned to his side, finding a handsome man with dark green hair and jet black eyes smiling slightly at him.

"Who..?" Niel asked because he did not realize that this man had been sitting next to him from earlier.

"My name is Frederick Al Gael. A first-year student of the Academy Of Heroes." The man introduced himself while putting his hand covered in white gloves on his chest. He extended his hand to Niel.

"Ah... My name is Danniel Arthos. Why are you here?" Niel asked as he shook Frederick's extended hand before taking it off.

He was quite amazed by the uniform design worn by his interlocutors. A jet black uniform with blue accents makes a luxurious impression for the viewer, coupled with silver accessories that add to the impression of nobility. Both of these things are not forgotten equipped with a white robe that adds to its aesthetic value.

Or maybe it is just the wearer who is handsome.

"Our team is having a field trip. At the same time we are also required to record the history of the Hero Adonias. You see that statue? He is Adonias with his beloved sword, Aegeus." Frederick explained with a smile that never slipped from his face.

"Gael!"

Frederick turned to the direction the voice came from before rising from his sitting position, "Ah, my companion has called out to me. Thank you for filling my free time, Brother Arthos. I hope we can meet again."

"Ah yes, your white hair is quite eye catching. So my advice is change it to a silvery blue color to make it look like you're ice. Your hair won't change if you want a dark color."

Niel who heard Frederick's words was immediately startled before wanting to ask what the older words meant. But before asking, his interlocutor had disappeared from sight.

Niel shuddered in horror.

"... These Zendia people are generally creepy?"
