There are three types of salak that are native to Jogja area developed by Pak Cokro. Namely SALAK PONDOH, HONEY SALAK and GADING SALAK. Everyone has their own specialties. 



The first pondoh salak is the most famous and popular type of salak in the community. Generally, pondoh salak has the smallest size compared to other popular salak-salak. He used to sell dompolan (still fused with fruit stem ).



Undoubtedly, salak pondoh is the best salak in Indonesia. Salak which is widely cultivated in the Merapi area, Sleman is also widely distributed to various supermarkets. Even the distinctive sweet taste is famous to foreign countries and often hunted by foreign tourists who often come to the foot of Mount Merapi. 



The flesh is sweet and the texture of the flesh is crunchy. Although not as sweet as honey, but it is precisely that that makes pondoh salak so popular. Well, the sweet taste is fitting and not at all a shoe that makes pondoh salak suitable for all tongues.



The second type of salak is honey salak. Not inferior to pondoh salak, honey salak is also sought after. That's why Pak Cokro also plants this type.



The water content of honey is more than pondoh salak. It tastes sweet like honey, the flesh is yellowish, crispy and soft textured.



For the characteristics of the outside, the skin of honey is thin and shiny. The shape of the fruit is triangular or oval. Salak honey can bear fruit throughout the year, without knowing the season.



And the last type is Ivory Salak. Ivory salad can be distinguished based on skin color and size of the fruit. Ivory salad is yellow – ivory and shiny, medium to large size.



The taste of ivory salad is a little more sour, commonly sought by people who do not like sweet.



Ivory salad has a larger size compared to the size of pondoh and honey salak. The color is also different, namely yellowish white like elephant ivory, so it is also called salak bule. 



But this salak is said to be efficacious and used as one of the therapeutic treatment, diabetes, cholesterol and stroke. This makes ivory salak has a higher price than pondoh salak and honey salak.



All tour groups harvest salak prepare. In order not to be too flashy indeed not all cars are used.
