Rainy

Rainy
Viewpoint of Bhara

Bhara did not know what her father was thinking until he did not give Rainy the pocket money so his sister had to work at the cafe until night. Is that what you hate about Rainy? Butwhy? What reason? Questions swirled in Bhara's mind.

Questions that have been around for a long time but not answered.

Hearing Rainy's crying voice made Bhara feel pain. It also caused anger towards Papa.

Bhara recalls how she found out if Rainy went to work every time he came home from school.

That night, at one night London time, Bhara who was about to go to sleep suddenly got a call from an unknown number.

Initially Bhara wanted to ignore, but saw the initial number on the phone number with the code +62 which means it came from Indonesia, making Bhara finally press the green button.

“Halo, with whom?” asked Bhara while leaning her body on the headboard.

“Halo, Bhara. This is Om Abraham, her husband Aunt Risa, sorry to interrupt your bedtime.”

At first Bhara was surprised, why did his uncle call these nights?

“Om Abra turns out, not to bother you, Om. What's up, huh? Rainy's fine, isn't he?”

If it wasn't for Rainy, Abra wouldn't have called him these nights, Bhara thought.

“Dia ... well, how are you?”

“Bhara is also good, Om.”

Bhara waited anxiously for what Abra would say next. A question was thrown out that made Bhara a little confused at first.

“Sorry, Bhara. It's not Om's intent to interfere in your family's affairs or interfere with your family's privacy, but it's about Rainy.”

Bhara's heart was already pounding as he heard Rainy's name called. Concerns were clearly on his face. The one who was already sleepy now had his eyes perfectly open. The sleepiness has been gone since when.

“Iya, Om. No problem, what does this have to do with Rainy?”

“Is the Bhara family in financial trouble? Or is Rainy having trouble with his family? Sorry if Om's question offended you.”

Bhara is increasingly confused, but still answers Abra's questions without any cover-up. “Not at all, Om. Even Papa's efforts are getting ahead. When it comes to Rainy there is a little problem with Papa, but Bhara also does not know why Papa can be so.”

“Okay, Om just wanted to tell you, if now it looks like Rainy is in financial trouble, maybe Bhara knows why? Because it's been a few days now it turns out Rainy went to work at the cafe every time he came home from school. It's also because your aunt saw, otherwise, I don't know when we didn't know Rainy went to work.”

Bhara felt his heart pierced by thousands of knives when he heard his uncle's words. Rainy's working? Why not tell him? Even when asking questions, Rainy always answered no problem.

“Sorry, Om. Bhara did not know, a few days ago when Bhara asked if Rainy had a problem, Bhara's sister replied that there was nothing. Later Bhara try to ask Rainy again, and thank you for telling Bhara, Om.

“Sama like Om, if Om Abra does not tell Bhara, maybe Bhara will not know until Rainy himself is honest to Bhara.”

Bhara still tried to speak in the tone as smooth as possible even though he was angry in his heart, and many minds wondered without being able to say.

“Sama-sama, here Om can only help as much as possible. At first Om wanted to talk to Mas Hamza about Rainy, but it was difficult to contact him. So Om very relieved because Bhara wants to pick up the phone from Om.”

Until here it seems Bhara has difficulty holding back his anger, even one hand is already firmly clenched while the other is holding a mobile phone.

“Good, Om. Thanks again. Sorry, yes, Om. Bhara was once Bhara's sister. If Rainy's wrong, don't papa get angry, Om. Sorry if Rainy also took a shot of nicotine. Later if Bhara can go home, surely Bhara stopped by there to look. Only now Bhara is still bothered with the task, because less than a year away Bhara wants the final exam,” said Bhara.

Bhara heard that Abraham had fallen across the street, but Bhara could not cope with the oddity because it felt like Bhara wanted to blow his anger. Just trying to hold it.

“Sure. Here Rainy will be Om's responsibility. Don't worry too much, will you? Okay, get here first. You must be tired and want to quickly sleep, good night Bhara.”

Bhara said the same thing after that the phone connection was completely cut off. Intention originally wanted to directly call Rainy, but considering it was late at night, and Bhara believes Rainy was currently in school to make Bhara undo his intentions.

His anger can indeed be withheld, but not with his concern for Rainy. Bhara is angry at Rainy but more angry at his papa who seems to be getting here makes Bhara more emotional.

For the rest of the night, Bhara had a hard time closing his eyes. His mind kept on going to Rainy who said every time he went to school to work. Once his eyes closed, Bhara would wake up again. So it continued until morning arrived and Bhara felt his head a little dizzy.

***

Two o'clock in London time.

Bhara, who was supposed to hang out today with her friend, canceled her appointment when her friend asked her, Bhara, just answered that she was not feeling well. Plus the eye bags under his eyes are so visible that they can be used as evidence.

After arriving at the boarding house, Bhara went straight to the bed. His hand moved quickly to call Rainy. After being lifted, Bhara did not explode. He slowly asked but Rainy did not want to answer until Bhara finally said what he knew from Abra.

At first Rainy was still evasive, but Bhara continued to push him until finally Rainy was honest.

“Papa stop sending money.”

One sentence consisting of four words was able to make Bhara speechless so unreliable.

Until Bhara heard the sobs from Rainy, making Bhara also teary. Bhara does not like to hear her sister cry, because she will also feel the pain, what Rainy can feel Bhara.

Even at a time like this, Rainy begged her not to get angry at their father. Nah! Bhara could not, his anger had been there since last night, Bhara could not stop and without wanting to obey Rainy's wishes, Bhara turned off the phone despite Rainy's pleading with him.

Bhara rubbed the tears that escaped on her left cheek, just because Rainy heard Rainy's sobbing voice made Bhara also difficult to hold back her feelings.

Now, Bhara is calling her papa, the first call is not being raised. The second call on the third ringtone then papa raised it.

“What is Bhara? You know Papa doesn't like to be disturbed? If you need anything just send a message or contact Papa's secretary.”

Just wanted to make small talk, but hearing the words coming out of his papa's mouth made Bhara immediately explode his anger.

“So? Always is! Does Papa not care at all about Papa's children? If there's anything always call the secretary, all of them secretaries. It should be our father's secretary Papa, not Papa.”

“So if Bhara has an accident, contact the secretary to come visit and pay for administration. Rainy's getting married, get the secretary to be the guardian. Bhara and Rainy are gone forever, have the secretary take care! Don't bother Papa! Don't call Papa! Papa's busy! And forever is that?!”

“What are you talking about Bhara?! It is impolite to use high notes when talking to parents!” Papa was no less snapping, but Bhara had forgotten his manners of speaking hearing papa's first sentence earlier.

“What kind of parent doesn't give his daughter rights? Even abandoning her as if she was trash!”

“What do you mean Bhara?” ask Papa not understand.

“Still asking?! Did you forget your second daughter Papa? Brother Bhara? He works now to earn money, but he still has a family who can give more money! Why did Papa get that long? Even stop sending his pocket money!!”

“Listen! Who stopped sending money? Papa does not know, because the one who takes care of everything is Papa's secretary. So don't talk about it with Papa, then Papa doesn't abandon anyone, the child just decides to leave. He went of his own accord!”

“He works? Isn't that nice? He can gain experience, can learn independently. Don't keep bothering others. And Papa actually still wants to punish him, but he's running away from responsibility! Even he forgot his sister whom he had harmed.”

Bhara increasingly distrusted the words of his father, papa-can

Bhara laughed wryly, calling like this hoping what the hell is he? “Oh, Bhara forgot that Papa still has one of his most beloved children and needs attention. Right said Rainy, there is no need to fight with Papa because it is useless. Papa doesn't know anything, Papa only knows Rainy is wrong and must take responsibility until Papa forgets what Rainy has given you.”

“Remember, Pa. Riana can live because of Rainy, but one mistake Rainy made Papa forget with a thousand sacrifices Rainy. And maybe one day Papa will really forget that Papa had a kid like Rainy after Rainy left. Maybe Papa won't know how Rainy is, sick or healthy, sane or crazy, happy or suffering.”

Bhara knew, well, that she knew it was outrageous, as if Bhara was praying bad for Rainy. But that's not what Bhara meant, he just wanted his papa to realize that there was one child who still needed papa. Attention, affection and support. But it looks like papa is still closing his eyes to it.

“She has been troublesome since growing up, always making trouble. Just donating a little blood you'll talk to Papa. Is it your Bhara? He even owes Papa money for raising him, giving him money, food and shelter. But you see now, he ran away without saying anything.”

“No! Bhara is crazy! It's crazy to be Papa's son. We're both going crazy! Maybe that's why Rainy ran away, his decision was not wrong, only those who didn't understand what was wrong, not Rainy! Oh yes, Bhara will also assume all that Papa gives this debt. Debt that Bhara must repay someday.”

TUT!

Without hearing papa's next response, Bhara immediately pressed the red button. He who was originally standing is now sitting on the floor and his head is leaning on the edge of the mattress.

Bara covered her face with her arms, her phone lying on the cold floor. All those conversations keep ringing in your mind like a broken radio.

Bhara wanted to cry, but still tried to hold it. His feelings were as shattered as the current Rainy. Then the memory of childhood until he grows up again repeated in memory.

And the reason why Bhara continues to defend Rainy when her father and stepmother blame Rainy when Riana enters the hospital. Riana fell down the stairs and it was Rainy, which they all believed in, not Bhara.

Rainy had explained the matter from start to finish and had Bhara deduce who was wrong. It's just that they all turned a deaf ear making Rainy a constant suspect.

But Bhara doesn't know, because his actions today will lead to bigger problems in Rainy's next life.
