That afternoon, Morena overhears Kevin's conversation with Doni, her husband's personal assistant from outside the study. It's actually common for Morena to find Doni coming into this house and going in and out of Kevin's study, but there is one surprise to Morena when her hearing accidentally captures Kevin and Doni's conversation about Alisa, the woman she knows is Kevin's affair.

"I never thought that you loved her so much as Alisa. Is this me being stupid or are you great at hiding everything?" Morena said with a dismissive smile.

"Ren, I don't want to talk about this."

Morena smirked, advancing a step closer towards Kevin who was standing in front of the room window.

"Wow.. is avoiding the expertise of Kevin Wira Atmadja? So besides cheating you're also good at switching the conversation?"

Kevin snorted, rubbing his face in annoyance. Then turned to face Morena who was now looking at him with a red face and teary eyes.

"What have you heard?"

"You have a son from Alisa." Morena's voice shook as she said that. The deepest corner of her heart feels the excruciating pain that every woman will feel when she finds out her husband has another woman in his life, even more so than the relationship produces a child.

"What's that, Kevin?" Ask the ones who don't believe. While Kevin was only able to duck while exhaling heavily. "Jawab, motherfucker!"

Morena's patience had run out, with a hunting breath, the woman hit Kevin's chest repeatedly, issuing a swearing-in to condemn Kevin's treatment of her.

And Kevin's inertia justifies it all.

"I'm lacking what?" With painful stuffing.

Kevin cupped the hands of Morena who kept beating her chest. There were no words of rebuttal to it all, his tongue was moody and his head was throbbing violently. There were too many lies he told. Even apologizing to Kevin is hard.

"Rome.."

"Seventeen years you lied to me about Kai! I foolishly believe that you and Alisa ended seventeen years ago!" Shouted Morena wrathfully. "You married her? Huh yeah?"

Kevin was still silent with an overwhelming sense of guilt. But his face looks flat and ordinary. It ignited Morena's emotions even more.

"Are you ready to make a house in Bandung for him?"

"Ren, enough!" Jerk Kevin. "Now you know everything. I was wrong, yes. But I can't take my responsibility for them either."

The tears did not stop flowing on her cheeks, Morena did not even know how she was feeling at the moment. Everything was destroyed, the feeling he tried to keep for a dozen years was broken in just a day.

Once, seventeen years ago. When her age enters the ninth month. Kevin's attitude changed drastically. Her husband often comes home late, busy out of town, even occasionally not home. Morena feels something is wrong with Kevin's change in her.

Then, until Kai's birth into the world, Morena finds out that Alisa's name is in the middle of their marriage. Morena thinks that Alisa made Kevin change. No longer longing for her, and it made Morena choose to ignore her family by busy herself.

As time went on, Morena thought Kevin had forgotten about Alisa. But today, like a big storm in her life, Morena has just been faced with a new reality if Kevin has a child from another woman, and that is Alisa.

"Where are they?"

"Where are you hiding your affair with that bastard child!" Morena's screams were full of annoyance.

Without them realizing it, behind the door of the room, there was another figure who was very surprised to hear the quarrel of his parents.

Kai unintentionally heard the quarrel from behind the door. He's surprised, of course. So all this time he wasn't the only one Kevin had hoped for, there was another flesh and blood that Kevin had hoped for, and it was from another woman.

Kai's jaws hardened along with heightened emotions. With a loud bang Kai pushed the wooden door in front of him and stepped wide into the father's study.

Morena and Kevin were shocked when they heard the sound of the door opening loudly, they turned their heads and looked perfectly open to find Kai coming inside.

"Really, pah? Right what did mom say?"

"Yes.." Morena held Kai's arm to move away from Kevin, "wait, Kai." He tries to calm.

Kai looked at the mother with sharp barking eyes. "You don't have to hide this from me. I deserve to know!!" His eyes looked back at Kevin. "Well, am I really not the only son?"

"You better get in the room!" Kevin's orders are not heard by Kai at all.

"I am no longer a child who knows nothing! I'm seventeen years old!"

"Papa said get in the room!" Snapped Kevin, but that didn't make Kai look scared at all.

"Jawab, pah! If you have an affair and an illegitimate child!"

"Kai!"

Kai smirked. "So papa's been busy with that cheap woman."

"So, what you say!"

"Because she's a cheap woman."

One hard slap landed right on Kai's face. The corner of his lips was bleeding, but Kai felt no pain at all.

Morena swerved, then screamed while covering her mouth with her hands when she saw her son slapped in front of her eyes.

"Kevin, enough!"

Kai screeched, grinning as he touched the end of his torn lips. That fiery sharp gaze challenged Kevin fearlessly.

"Satisfied, pah? I am not the Emperor of the crybaby that you always beat every time you make a mistake! You can't treat me like that anymore!"

"You better shut up! A diligent school does not even interfere in the affairs of parents!"

"Oh. good, why don't you all drive me out. I don't need to go back to this house anymore. You have my replacement, right?" Kai

"Emperor!" Kevin raised his hand, preparing to slap Kai again, but the pace of his hand stopped overhead.

Morena screamed still with tears in her eyes.

The man held back all his anger to not treat Kai harshly. He took a breath, rubbed his face, tried as quietly as possible.

"Why? Just slap, pah. Isn't it ordinary?" Kai hissed with a defiant look.

"You still have a deal with papa! Remember that old orphanage. As you step out of this house, papa will actually withdraw all the fees for the parlour!"

"Papa not to worry, everything will go like what papa wants!" He said with all the frustration piling up, then left, out of the room by slamming the door.

Emperors

I'm waiting at the apartment, 160401 passcode to my apartment.

Krystal smiled shortly after reading the message. He then reinserted his hape, and then immediately entered the burial area. It's been a while since Krystal came here. His steps stopped on an already ceramic mound of land.

"Assalamualaikum, mother." He said as he sat on the edge of the tomb and rubbed his head gently. "I'm sorry, Krystal just came back."

The strong gust of wind made his hair slightly messy. "Krystal's birthday in a week, ma'am." The girl smiled softly. "And also the anniversary of the day that mom went to kill Krystal."

His eyes began to glaze over, with a slightly choked breath. Krystal never celebrated her birthday because it was the same day she lost her mother.

"Bosen's mom must have said that Krystal was still waiting for my dad to come to the parlour." Her tears are dripping. He smiled and then deleted it. "Now Krystal just wants to say to mom, if Krystal is no longer waiting for me. Not because Krystal doesn't believe it, but because Krystal doesn't want to be constantly sad. Mother said, I will be sad if I see Krystal sad, then Krystal does not want to be sad anymore, ma'am."

Krystal. "But Krystal will always pray for you, always ask God to be happy wherever you are."

The girl took her breath, trying to hold back the stuffing that was about to come out. "Krystal doesn't cry, ma'am. Now Krystal does not want to cry because there is someone who will be sad too if Krystal is crying, and Krystal does not want the person to be sad."

Krystal smiled again, this time wider and there was a twinkle in her eyes. "Name Emperor. Said the students at school, Kai was naughty, but if Krystal is really nice, ma'am. Kai said he loved Krystal. He's gonna protect Krystal, so I don't worry about it."

Like feeling the presence of the mother who hugged him, the gust of the afternoon wind was so soothing to Krystal's heart, that unknowingly the tear she tried to endure finally dripped as well.

"Mothers.. Krystal is happy with Kai.."

Krystal's footsteps stopped right in front of the black iron door. Then his hand was raised to press the few digits of the number that Kai had told him before.

Krystal pushed the door when a beep was heard. The first thing he saw was the darkened state of the room, but still visible light from sunlight entering through the window.

His steps deepened until he could see the silhouette of Kai sitting on the sofa with his face down.

"Kai.." call her slow. "Hey." said Krystal harder, but didn't make Kai raise his head.

Krystal approached, sitting on the empty side next to her. "Kai, I'm calling you not to answer." He touched the boy's shoulder until Kai finally turned his head.

Krystal was shocked when she saw the torn wound on the tip of Kai's lips. He quickly cupped the side of the man's face. "You why? How bloody is that?" Panicked words.

Kai was silent, then kept Krystal's hand away from her face. The man's breath could be heard clearly by Krystal. He knew Kai wasn't okay right now.

"I'll take medicine to clean your wounds." The new Krystal will stand before Kai's hand holds her back.

The guy looked into his eyes. "Non't go anywhere. I need you."

Back again, it was only Krystal who was able to change all the bad habits of an Emperor.

Not to forget if every quarrel with the father always leads Kai to bad habits, such as visiting nightclubs, then drinking alcohol and doing ONS with paid girls.

Which always ends in a nightmare every time he falls asleep. But, Kai realized that only Krystal managed to pull the nightmare from her sleep. Always Krystal, and only her.

"You said we should be open to each other for any problem. I'm here, Kai, you can tell me everything's the same as me."

Not knowing where to start, Kai hesitated to tell a story. However, didn't he already tell Krystal the worst side of it? So he should not have doubted.

"Kerry..." Kai sighed before continuing his words. "Father I have a daughter from another woman."

Krystal shut her mouth, she was shocked, very surprised. Kai told Krystal about his family, but it was just about how they treated Kai. This story was the first time he had heard it.

"I didn't overhear my mom's conversation earlier." Continue Kai in a soft tone.

Krystal clasped Kai's hand tightly, trying to pay more attention to the guy.

"You know, it turns out that all this time papa ignored me and mama just for his other family."

"Yes.." Krystal gave a gentle swipe at the back of Kai's hand.

"He always forbade me to paint because painting won't produce anything. Papa asked me to study diligently, and get ranked, but he never cared about me. I try to be a good boy in front of him, I always want to, all I do to attract papa's attention. But he never saw that."

"Now, I know, papa never really prepared me to be his successor, because there are other children you want. Maybe for him I was a mistake."

"Kai.." cut Krystal. "You can't talk like that. Your presence is not a mistake. God, never created man in the wrong state. You can be in this world with God's permission, nothing is wrong. Either papa, or your mama."

"But I hate them all, Krys!" Kai yelled while grabbing her hair. "I hate that bastard!"

Krystal was slightly bewildered, surprised to see Kai's extremely messy state. Knowing her lover is getting worse, Krystal pulls Kai on the shoulder, hugging him tightly. Trying to calm the guy down in another way.

"I thought that my presence was never wanted by either of them." Kai said softly.

"Don't think like that. Even if you were never abandoned by your parents, I am the only person who really wants Kai's presence in this world. Even if no one wants you, I'll be the first and last to want you."

Krystal's words were soothing and touched right into her heart, making Kai let go of the hug. His hands were raised to hold the side of Krystal's face.

Their eyes met in a straight line.

"It's lucky I have you." Kai stroked the girl's cheek with his thumb. "I .. don't know how it would be if you went to leave me. Couldn't have imagined, had there not been you beside me like this, I ... really scared, Krys.."

Looks like Kai has spoken too much already, then this time let Krystal stop him.

Krystal quickly pulled the boy's shoulder, then kissed his lips slowly and slightly held him there.

Of course Kai was flabbergasted, snapping in disbelief knowing Krystal kissed him first. She was still shocked even to the point when Krystal pulled away and took off the kiss.

"K-krys.."

"You talk a lot, I'm dizzy with it." The girl chuckled with blushing cheeks.
