Kai, who recently dominated his life, amazed Krystal at the figure of the man. Kai, who had just come to pick her up at the orphanage with so much food she had given the children of the orphanage, approached her.
"This what?" Krystal lifted her head as the man thrust a box of chocolate in front of her face.
"Chocolate."
Krystal picked up the chocolate, and looked back at Kai. "For?"
Kai sighed, then replied origin. "The Komar."
"Why love me?"
Kai understood, if Krystal was the most skilled at raising her blood pressure. To that end, Kai rubbed his face and took a deep breath. "Well, when did I give you Komar?"
"So you said?"
"Can't you ask me?"
"Hehe.." Krystal chuckled, then patted the side of the empty bench next to her. "Thank you, the chocolate." Krystal said along with Kai who was sitting there.
"So to the parlor on what?"
"Figures." Krystal turned her head while her hands were busy playing the chocolate box Kai had just given her. "Where's the outcome?"
There was a brief silence before Kai finally made a sound. "My poster was accepted, and the pay was good."
"Alhamdulillah." Krystal smiled happily, her eyes twinkling at Kai. "From the beginning I was sure that Kai would be able to, and just look at the poster you made, I believe it will be immediately accepted. Kai's great."
Kai returned Krystal's smile, and didn't forget to give a gentle swipe at the top of the girl's head. "Thank you."
"The money should not be squandered. Although Kai is still getting from parents, but the money itself feels more proud. That's what I felt the first time I could make my own money."
"I just bought some chocolate."
Then Krystal's gaze turned to the chocolate box in her hand. "This is a deal?"
"Hm." Kai replied as he pressed his shoulder.
Krystal's face immediately sparkled, "that's why I don't want to eat the chocolate."
"Why?" Kai asked confusedly.
"This is Kai's first gift of his own money, I'd like to keep it."
Kai immediately chuckled at hearing it. "Where can be saved, baby. You just eat, again all the money from the poster was I save for you."
"Why for me?"
"You forgot why I work?"
Krystal fell silent, she understood what Kai meant to her. Perhaps this is one example that makes Krystal's subconscious choose Kai as the place where she dropped her heart.
"I want to be of use to you, to make you my responsibility." Krystal blinked her eyelashes slowly, flattered by the feeling of being bulged. "You said the same to me if you again cuddle money for the cost of advertising search people. I think I have enough money for that."
Who else could make his heart this warm? Krystal never felt so lucky when she was with Kai. That guy actually kept his word, but that's not what Krystal wanted. He just wanted to do it all on his own.
"Nai ... I'm sure you can help me. But, you are there to encourage me that's enough."
"But I want to be useful to you."
"You're useful to me, in a different way."
Kai was stunned, smilingly staring at Krystal. "It's what keeps me from getting away from you." He said, touching the tip of the girl's nose. "Unsuendable."
Krystal chuckled with a big smile. The smile that made Kai always feel strong, and made him promise to always try to keep it.
"Said mommy you're having a birthday soon?"
Krystal nodded while pursing her lips. "Kok Mommy said it anyway, I'm so embarrassed."
Seeing the girl turn out to be so adorable, made Kai smile widely with a thunderous feeling. "What gift do you want?"
"I knew Kai would be that." Krystal then threw her gaze down, staring at both of her sneakers wryly. "In previous years, when Mother asked me what gift I want, I will definitely answer if I want to see father."
Suddenly Kai felt bad. He fell silent and let Krystal tell a story.
"Every night on the same date, I would sit at the door, hoping dad would come to pick me up from the parlour." I heard heavy breathing from Krystal. There were millions of tight feelings lodged in his heart at this moment.
"I always wait for Dad at the door until I finally fall asleep, and that's what I've been doing for years."
"Every year with the same expectations, and the same taste."
Kai shifted his seat, approaching the girl.
"Nearly a dozen years it happened, and to this day..."
Kai pulled Krystal's shoulder, grabbed the girl while rubbing her hair. Shit, Kai felt his emotions run high hearing that. As well as the reason he hates adults, his father and Krystal's father are both irresponsible parents.
"Dad still hasn't come to pick me up. In fact, I once told my mother that my father would pick us up. I still hope to this day."
Kai tightened his embrace, trying to calm the girl back down.
"Maybe you're busy until you forget to pick me up, or you don't know where I am. I think like that every night." Krystal pulled herself to look at Kai. The girl's cheeks were wet. "Kai, you didn't dump me, did you?"
"Std.." Kai wiped his tears. "Don't think like that. Maybe now your dad's trying to find you, just like you're trying to find him."
"I'll always pray that you'll see me soon."
"And I'll pray for you too." Kai stroked his cheek.
Krystal smiled, and pulled Kai's hand that was on her face for her to hold. "By birthday this time I'm asking for something with you."
"I want Kai to always be happy, always smile, and never feel alone again."
Perhaps others who heard this would say that Krystal was naive, but to her, it was something very memorable. On the girl's birthday, instead of praying for her own happiness, Krystal wished and asked for her happiness instead. Krystal cares about him.
"What do you think I'm a lot more Krys-like, so, just you're always smiling and I'm gonna be so happy."
Krystal flattered with a widened smile. "My goal is to increase by one."
"What?"
"Make Kai always happy."
Kai smiled, his hands light up to rub the girl's cheeks. "It's no longer my fight, is it?" he's kidding.
Krystal chipped for a while before laughing. "Rese.." the next second he looked confused as soon as Kai's body moved, and stood in front of him.
"Come.." Kai extended his hand.
"Where?"
The guy smiled broadly. "Dating."
• • •
Dating is one word that feels foreign to Kai. For him, women can only be enjoyed in bed without having to bother choosing a romantic and memorable date spot.
Just being with Krystal all that changed, then this is where they are now. The new night market opened a few days ago. Simple, because the place was chosen by Krystal.
"Why come here?"
"Don't go far, it's also delicious here. Cheap again. Once up the game only pay five grand." Krystal was sparkling and full of enthusiasm.
This is the first time Kai has come to a place like this. Away from his style, if usually every night he would sip a glass of alcoholic beverages, but now he had to sit on one of the wooden benches and be confronted by a large sprig of gulali candy.
"It's delicious." Krystal ate the gulali while continuing to chatter. "Wouldn't you?"
"It can make a toothache."
"You rubbed his teeth less diligently times."
Kai snorted with a small breath. That girl was indeed the greatest in terms of talking. "You come here often?"
Krystal looked over, then shook her head. "Not often, just once."
"Who's the guy?"
"Mother and adek-adek home. There used to be a night market that was open near the orphanage, because at that time the finances of the home were bad, and the children of the orphanage rarely went out so Mother ngajak we all went there. Because it's cheap." Krystal ends with a ruckus. "Have you ever been here?"
The guy threw his eyes off Krystal. "You know this place exists I never have."
"Well, I didn't pick the wrong place."
Krystal's words made Kai laugh. The girl was indeed the most able to make her feelings change, and always managed to make the atmosphere warm up again.
"Hm.. Kai." Krystal was doubtful. Kai turned his head, looking at his girl who was also staring at him. "I don't have to stay in your apartment for long."
"Because of my mama?"
"Hm.no." Krystal. "I mean, it's not good if we stay together and see your mama. We'll have a test soon, right? It's better if I stay at my house."
"Are you scared of me?"
Krystal immediately raised her face. Staring at Kai with confused furrowed brows.
"Because I kissed you yesterday forcibly?"
"I've never been afraid of Kai." Krystal sighed, "and for that, I know you don't mean that. Kai wants to help me heal, right?"
"Why did you suddenly move?"
The girl turned her gaze in all directions, wherever it was as long as it did not look Kai in the eye. "I'm just afraid we're crossing the line."
Kai smiled, cupped both sides of Krystal's face and pulled her to look at each other. "Hey, I wouldn't do that if you didn't. My goal is to protect you, even if it's from myself. I won't destroy you, Krys."
"I believe you won't do it, but what if I don't? Both in the same room are dangerous, Kai."
Kai chuckled, "so bad to say." Don't forget he rubbed the top of Krystal's head. "Yes, tomorrow we move. I'll sleep on the couch, away from you. And you must always remember that this will not happen anytime soon. Don't know tomorrow, haha." Said Kai jokingly who immediately got a blow from Krystal.
"That's.. Kai!!"
Kai dodged, the guy ran while grimacing. While Krystal chased after him, and hit Kai again but this time with laughter.
"I'm kidding." Kai hugged Krystal.
"Shame, Kai, look."
"Let's let the merchant brothers here know you have me." Kai clenched his arms even more, while Krystal was already laughing loudly at Kai's reply.
"Where is it like that, do the brothers really care, what?"
Kai let go of the hug, and holding Krystal's hand approached the gulali merchant. "Bang, he's my boyfriend."
"Kai!"
The merchant laughed at their behavior. Just as those who laugh forget everything, forget disappointment, pain, and loneliness. They don't care about the people who are watching them. Let them laugh, enjoy every moment together, because maybe after this fate will play tricks on them.
Destiny is waiting for you.
