Jordan kept walking, letting his feet carry him somewhere. The man did not stop at the stop where he used to wait for the bus that would take him to where he now lives.
Along the way the man thought of all the words of the woman named Kathleen. The man was eager to ignore all the sentence after sentence that was spoken from the woman's lips, but I swear by anything, he simply could not ignore it because it was deep in his heart, he confirmed all the words of the woman.
Suddenly, the shadows on the faces of his parents who were pinning their hopes on him, who were looking at him proudly when he managed to get a scholarship, flashed in his head.
"Truely said the woman. I can't do anything bad that's going to hurt me. If all my actions were exposed, I could have been thrown in jail. Which would automatically make my parents' hopes disappear, changed with disappointment. Besides, I can be sure I won't be able to have the future I aspire to have" Jordan monologued to himself, while still stepping with both hands in his pocket.
"The woman was right too. Although later me and the woman named Jane managed to do our plan, it does not guarantee that Naura will accept my feelings. If so, it would all be in vain. And as clever as I hide my actions, one day will also find a way, to be discovered. And if it is so certain that Naura will hate me even more," again Jordan invites his own heart to chat, even though the heart is not at all possible to give a response.
The man's pocket suddenly shook as well as a sound came from within, a sign of someone contacting him.
Jordan saw Jane's name on her phone screen, and the man indirectly answered. The man seemed to be weighing his phone and also like thinking hard between answering or ignoring the call.
"Ah, I'll just answer!" the man finally decided.
"Hallo," said Jordan briefly.
"Hello, Jordan! I just wanted to let you know that I bought a plane ticket for both of us. Our plane leaves at 10 a.m. So, I hope you're at the airport no later than 9. I'm waiting for you there!". Jane spoke quickly without pause.
Jordan did not respond at all.
"Jordan, do you hear me?" Jane's reopening the sound.
"Yes, I hear you, Jane. But, I'm so sorry. I abandoned my intention to cooperate with you, because after I thought about it, I loved my future more" said Jordan, who eventually chose to make such a decision.
"What do you mean, huh? you wanna play me? do you think the tickets are cheap? just so you know, it costs three times what you paid at the cafe. Anyway I don't want to know, our plan must keep going, otherwise you have to reimburse all the costs that I have incurred," Jane threatened.
Jordan gasped in shock and riled up. The man rubbed his face violently.
"God, how can I replace it? do you know that I don't have that kind of money?" jordan said that this time sounded hearty and desperate.
"I don't care. If you don't pay, it means you have to keep working with me. You have no choice and you don't deserve to make a choice," you can be sure that Jane must be smiling cunningly across the street.
"You're really sneaky. Kendrick should have left you. It turns out you're a demon hiding in a human body. I'm sorry I almost worked with you" said Jordan.
"Hey, you have no right to say to me! it's up to you to say anything about me. Clearly, I want my goal to be achieved" Jane said.
"alright. I promise I'll try to give you back the money you spent. I'll give you all my salary, every month until the cost you spend is paid off. Obviously, I stick to my decision. I don't want to work with a cunning woman like you, because I just realized that love can't be forced," Jordan was no less resolute.
"Based coward! you think I got the prick? I want you to pay it off tomorrow. Otherwise, you have no choice but to follow my plan. I'll be waiting for you at the airport tomorrow!" jane concluded, while deciding on a call unilaterally.
"Arghhh, why is it like this anyway?" Jordan rubbed his face back violently.
"I'll help you. Just calm down!"
"You? why are you here?" jordan asked on the sidelines in shock.
"Sorry, I didn't intend to follow you. But I saw you passing the stop. So I decided to follow you with that car. I intentionally drive slowly. I'm sorry, I heard all your talk with that woman, and I'm willing to help you pay for the money she spent!" kathleen said with a sincere smile.
"But the number is not small."
"No problem. Not that I was arrogant, I had enough money to replace it," Kathleen tried to convince Jordan.
"Emm, okay! I have no other way. But, I promise I will pay it to you, but in a gradual way. Can you?"
"Oh, you don't have to pay. Let's just say that, because I'm helping, my ex-fiancee's best friend,"
"Sorry, it can't be like that! after all you have also opened my eyes, so as not to make mistakes that could harm me. So, I have to keep paying it to you" Jordan said, irrefutable.
"Well if that's what you want. I can't say anything more. Now you give me your account number, let me transfer the money," Kathleen finally relented.
"Later. I don't know how much I have to pay,"
"You name the account number first. I'll send you the money. If less or more you can tell me,"
After a bit of debate, Jordan finally mentioned his account number and Kathleen immediately sent a large amount of money.
"Is this not too much? I don't think the price of two tickets is this big" Jordan said.
"You wear it first, just in case. Fear such a cunning woman, will take advantage of the situation, ask you to pay double,"
Jordan nodded his head, amazed by the thought of the woman in front of him.
"Thank you, Miss Kathleen! thank you for opening my eyes too, if what I did was not good at all" Jordan said sincerely.
"That's it, you don't have to worry!" kathleen is down.
"Oh yeah, there's actually something stuck in my heart. Why would Edward be your ex-fiancee? did he leave you for another woman? I happen to know the woman who became Edward's lover. That woman is Chika, my best friend is Sept Naura and another Tasya,"
"Surely he didn't leave me at all. It's just that we were betrothed and my love clapped one hand. Edward never loved me. Like I said, love cannot be forced, right? so, I better decide to cancel the engagement. Because I don't want to be a selfish woman" said Kathleen, who made Jordan even more amazed at the thought of the wise woman in front of him.
"Oh yes all our business is done. I'll go back first. Or do you want to come? let me take you, all of you," Kathleen made an offer.
"Do you mind if I ride in your car?"
"Absolutely not. Come inside!" Kathleen stepped towards her parked car not far from where they were standing. While Jordan finally decided to join the car of the woman he admired.
