Light Cultivation
Eps. 312 — Jian Chen and Lily

In the restaurant is a lot of visitors because a few minutes ago there was a boat anchored, they all rest here before entering the city in the middle of the desert.

Initially Jian Chen's arrival there was not glimpsed by others but not gradually for long all attention was on him, precisely on the girl in red dress beside him.

Jian Chen sighed for a moment, he glanced at Lily who indifferently responded to the gaze.

Jian Chen sat at the table which happened to be the only one that was empty, before long a servant came, Jian Chen ordered some food as well as Lily.

"Can you eat?" Jian Chen asked in surprise as the servant had already moved away.

"Of course, what makes you think I can't eat?" Lily frowned as well as looked at Jian Chen like she was looking at a fool.

Jian Chen coughed softly, "Aren't you in prison in my dantian Realm for so many years without any food and drink, I thought the fairy race didn't need food to live on?"

Lily understood Jian Chen's confusion, "It's difficult to explain it and it will take a long time, the point is that even though my cultivation is in the seal but my body is already in a very high realm, food is no longer a necessity..."

Lily explained, if Jian Chen gets stronger and his cultivation increases he will not feel hungry even if he does not eat for many years, at the peak later, he will not feel hungry, a swordsman will not need food unless he wants to spoil his tongue.

Jian Chen began to understand Lily's intent, indeed after he was at his stronger cultivation, his body did not feel hungry despite a week of not eating.

Their conversation had stopped because the food they had ordered earlier came, Jian Chen and Lily chose to eat the dish.

As Jian Chen and Lily ate at his desk, two men wearing swords at his waist walked up to their table.

The two men looked rough in terms of appearance, not excessive if those who saw it would assume that both were bad people.

The two people were without further ado directly sitting on Jian Chen and Lily's table.

"Is there something?" Jian Chen smiled faintly, he could see the two did not have good intentions let alone they seemed to look at Lily once in a while.

Jian Chen's question instantly made the two men smile broadly, "Young man, I don't know if this girl is your lover or not but for sure I will buy her..."

Without waiting for Jian Chen's reply one of the two people immediately took out a leather pouch and placed it on the table.

"In that there are a hundred gold pieces, we don't usually use money to want a girl but you are the exception, accept that money as long as I use the fine way." The two men smiled sinisterly at Jian Chen.

"Aren't your actions excessive, what makes you think I'm going to sell a human being..." Jian Chen replied with a faint smile.

"Oh you may be the new kid here, I'll explain to you to understand this province. In this region there are no rules but the law of the jungle. As long as you're strong you can be powerful." One of the men explained with a mocking laugh. "Blame yourself for coming here with a girl..."

Jian Chen glanced at Lily who did not care about the two men. "Do you want to go with them?"

Hearing Jian Chen's talk that was like agreeing, the two men were about to touch Lily's hand but when her hand was approaching suddenly there was a strong wave that made the two men thrown hard to hit the wall before spewing fresh blood.

People were immediately surprised to see this, they did not know what happened when suddenly the two men had already bounced back.

"Bas on the disgusting little insect..." Lily snorted in annoyance, she then looked at Jian Chen with a cold gaze. "What the fuck, you want to sell me?!"

"I was just asking, I thought you'd go with them." Jian Chen chuckled softly, making the girl stare at him with a stupor.

The two men drew swords but when they were about to do something, their bodies felt limp as they found Jian Chen's gaze turned cold followed by a murderous lust.

Even with just a glance, the two men were already trembling in fear and felt Jian Chen's gaze could kill him at any moment.

The action made the people in the restaurant shocked, they too late realized Jian Chen and Lily were not random people.

Jian Chen sat back down and continued his meal, it seemed like the plan he had sought for information failed but there were some new things he knew.

From the previous matter Jian Chen was aware that so messed up was the Sand Dragon Province to the point that slavery became commonplace.

Jian Chen seemed to have to act something on this province, at least change a little bit before it spread to other provinces.

***

The two left the restaurant shortly afterwards, Jian Chen still wanted to focus on finding information but this time he did not look for it from the restaurant.

Jian Chen went to a different place, there seemed to be a group of merchants who were preparing to enter the wilderness, they were planning to go to the city to sell their wares.

The group of traders, unlike the group in general, looks more inadequate in terms of supplies and merchandise, they look like they are not traders but forced to trade.

After wondering at them, Jian Chen learned that they were natives in this harbor. They trade to the city to meet the needs of their families everyday because lately being a fisherman makes them disadvantaged because of the low selling price of fish.

The average lifespan of the merchant entourage was that of an old man, Jian Chen was a little concerned at seeing their old bodies still working hard.

There were no mercenaries in the merchant entourage, they did not have enough money to hire a guard.

"May we both follow your entourage, we happen to be heading to the same town as the one you're heading to..." Jian Chen expressed his intention to a man who was already old.

The old man was the leader of the merchant entourage, he looked at Jian Chen from top to bottom before realizing the young man in front of him was a swordsman, visible from the sword embedded in Jian Chen's waist.

"We are actually very anxious on the way there are bandits or robbers who come in the way, in recent weeks there have been many incidents of traders being robbed in the middle of the desert, following you guys just makes us feel safe..." The leader of the merchant entourage paid his respects to Jian Chen.

They had turned their heads towards Lily, looking amazed by the look of the girl but Lily again did not care, her gaze was always cold on anyone even the girl was still annoyed that Jian Chen had bullied her before.

"Can you be a little friendly to them?" Whisper Jian Chen near the girl.

"Hmph! What do I care, you need them, not me." The girl stretched out her tongue, replying to Jian Chen's previous treatment.

Jian Chen smiled awkwardly, he turned his back on the previous merchant. "If I may know when we're leaving?"

"Hm, in a moment, we have to prepare their things first." The leader of the group pointed to some of his people who were transporting his goods.

Jian Chen helped along, seeing those who were old lifting heavy items made his heart move.

Help Jian Chen speed up the journey, they had time to thank the young man for helping him, before long Jian Chen and Lily joined the merchant entourage, the two began to enter the arid and vast wilderness area.
