Greatest Assassin

Greatest Assassin
Chapter 42

The gust of wind felt as it smashed through the densely-shattered black hair was getting rougher. The not-so-great roll of waves hit his body which was still sitting on the sea lip. No matter how many times the roll of small waves hit his body and hair that was pitch black, it also even wet his clothes. The black hoodie and jeans were now drenched with the impact of the waves.

The figure of a handsome young man with deep black hair with his crystal blue irises was enjoying the increasingly rough sea breeze. The young man seemed to stare blankly at the moving waves on the beach. The sky is starting to change color, the sun is sinking. But the young man was still sitting while hugging his knees on the beach.

"Aiken up!"

Alex shouted to Aiken who was still sitting on the beach. The young man seemed riled to observe his friend who was also restless who had no idea what. The waves in the afternoon are growing. From the middle of the sea there is a large scroll that will approach Aiken on the beach.

Alex quickly ran over to Aiken and his hand pulled the hoodie Aiken and dragged him away from the roll of the waves that would almost drag Aiken into the sea.

"You why Aiken? Almost your life will be floating!" exclaim Alex. Her eyes seemed to be glazed over, and Aiken was like a dazed person who was unaware of Alex's presence.

"What's wrong?" Aiken stood up. The look on his face looked dazed watching his clothes that were soaked.

"You why? You're about to drown in the waves!" Alex was still with her teary eyes staring at Aiken.

Spreading her gaze at the shoreline, Aiken held onto her temple, patting it softly while saying with her face down.

"I'm sorry, I had a lot of thoughts. Half a month's gone, and Elena hasn't seen any sign of waking up."

"Don't be weak, Aiken!" exclaim Alex. Aiken raised his head, his eyes twitching.

"Where was Aiken? I love money, working only for money. Will it disappear?" squeal Alex. He really looks annoyed.

"What are you saying. I'm still the old Aiken" he said with a faint smile.

"No," Alex shook his head, "you're not the Aiken you used to be."

Aiken. His eyes began to shake. Unknowingly the warm water dripped from the corner of his eye. Patting roughly his temples, Aiken shook his head violently.

"You're right. Now I am weak! I'm really fucked!" his screeches.

"No, Aiken!" Alex held onto both of Aiken's shoulders and stared fixedly at him.

"You are the old one! It's just that the current situation has really made you forget everything."

Aiken smiled faintly. The young man then turned and looked at the sun that was sinking began to be invisible. Clenching tightly into his two hands, Aiken sighed softly before saying.

"Yes, Alex. You've made me aware. Where was I the one before? I will definitely return it again!" Aiken turned around and looked at Alex.

"Elena will also be sad if she sees my mess."

"Yes, so the old Aiken has to go back. And it's your annoying attitude, which also makes Miss Elena like you." Alex nodded slowly, clenching his one hand tightly, and held it out to Aiken.

Aiken smiled faintly, then clenched tightly onto one hand, hitting Alex's fists tightly. The wind blew quite fiercely, hitting every strand of hair of the two handsome youths.

When he noticed the pendant necklace with a dendro-green crystal shape embedded in Aiken's neck, Alex frowned while asking.

"That's, whose locket necklace?"

"Oh this. Em, I don't know what this is. I only found this crystal in a cave in the wilderness.

I thought this crystal was beautiful, so I took it home and made it a pendant."

"You're right." Alex stretched out one hand, touching the pendant.

"The lyrics are really beautiful. It was as if her bright green color had hypnotized me."

"By the way, Alex. I'm going back to work as an Assassin for Agent Reco!" aiken. Alex was shocked, what an answer beyond reason.

"really? But, didn't you want to stop?"

"I'm not going to stop. I like this job. Seeing fresh blood was my life's goal" he said, winking one eye at Alex. It almost made the young man vomit.

"Alright, alright. In that case," Alex reached out his hand, Aiken maraih and shook his hand, "welcome back at Agent Reco, Aiken!"

"Yes, Alex!" sahut Aiken with a meaningful look.

As Aiken was walking with relaxed footsteps, both of his hands entered in his hoodie pocket. A sound like iron being dragged caught Aiken's attention.

Stop, turn around while spreading his gaze in all directions. But there are only street lights flickering irregularly on the side of the road that looks quiet and silent.

Aiken again stepped out his legs when the sound of iron was dragged back. As the voice approached, Aiken grew more alert. The young man was still standing speechless, but his two eyeballs turned to all corners of the place.

There was no sound coming, only a gust of rough night wind. Suddenly an iron rod floated in the air and was about to hit Aiken's head. Still standing on his back to the iron rod. Then Aiken turned around and caught the iron level with one hand raised.

Aiken frowned. Back he circulated his gaze at all corners of the place. The young man narrowed his eyes as his gaze turned on the front of the streetlight.

There seemed to be a figure standing still slightly away from the street lamp, not showing his face or body shape. Aiken could not see who the figure was because he was standing not under the street lamp, but slightly away from the street lamp.

"You want to mess with me?" ask Aiken. Leisurely the young man threw the iron level he was holding and ejected into the front of the figure's feet.

A little closer to the lamp post. Now the figure is wearing a mask that covers his face, except for the mouth only. Rows of slightly turbid teeth were seen as the figure smiled grinning.

"Don't try to mess with me. I'm not afraid of you at all!" exclamation Aiken.

The figure was silent not budging. After revealing his row of turbid-looking teeth, the figure stepped back slowly. His body and head were becoming invisible as if swallowed by the darkness of the night.

"Sad. Who her? What's the deal with me?" mumbled Aiken clucked dissatisfied.

Aiken was about to step away when a gentle pat hit his back. Aiken turned his head, the figure of the purple-haired long shoulder-length blood-red-eyed girl standing behind Aiken with a blank look.

"Who, you?" ask Aiken.

The girl was silent. His eyes were completely empty, as if he had no purpose to live.
