Fazila leaned her shoulders against the wall next to the door and smelled the distinctive scent of the soil mixed with the rain last night. The smell of the nightly flowers in front of their room seemed to be a therapeutic scent for Fazila's tense mind.
Fazila let out a long sigh before finally closing her eyes even though there was no intention to sleep at all. He only hoped for the morning to come and there was unexpected good news that could make him excited to welcome the days like before.
Whether the news is what it is, the most important thing can make Fazila can forget the sadness of his heart or make happy things for a moment.
The morning seemed so long that Fazila who had not wanted to sleep until the morning accidentally fell asleep in front of the room still with a position that leaned against the wall with both hands crossed the chest.
The dense clouds hanging in the sky indicate soon it will rain again. All the santri who had just come from the mosque immediately ran to their respective rooms when they heard the sound of thunder booming. Fazila's three roommates are no exception; Anggita, Qiana and Andin.
Just arrived at the terrace of the room a heavy rain flushed the earth, wetting back the soil that almost dried up overnight as if it did not allow the earth to lose moisture.
Lightning strikes in an increasingly dark and dense atmosphere. In the midst of the flash the three of them saw the figure of Fazila sleeping on the side of the door.
"Din, isn't it Chila's fault? Why sleep there?" qiana asked to make sure her eyesight was not wrong.
When they came out of the room early in the morning they did not see Fazila's whereabouts because it was so rushed.
They wake up late from usual until there is no time to just perform the tahajud sunnah prayer because it is too comfortable wrapped in a blanket in cold weather that supports to continue to dock in the sea of cotton.
Fortunately, the morning prayers had not yet begun when they arrived at the mosque. Last night rain that brings cold indeed makes anyone lazy to do any activity. Sleep is the most comfortable activity in such an atmosphere.
"It looks like it is" Andin said and then shifted closer trying to see more clearly.
"So he didn't come to the mosque, how can we forget him?" anggita asked and then touched Fazila's shoulder and poked her.
"Chila wake up, why are you sleeping here?"
There was no reaction from Fazila, he was very deep in a position that was actually uncomfortable. Maybe because last night was a lack of sleep.
"Chila woke up hey, you haven't prayed at dawn yet, have you? You're already in holy times, right?" This time Qiana spoke while rubbing Fazila's cheek until the girl who felt amused then blinked her eyes and brushed off Qiana's hand.
Fazila was wide-eyed when she opened her eyes there were three pairs of eyes staring at her net. Then the one caught on the retina of Qiana's eye seemed to rub his hand.
"I'm sorry I thought it was a mosquito" said Fazila, not feeling well to see Qiana grimacing. He only realized that the one he was standing on was Qiana's hand.
"What's wrong, get up and pray at dawn!"
Fazila nodded then painstakingly got up from his position.
"Borrow an umbrella!" whineknya and Andin swiftly entered the room to take an umbrella and give the object that Fazila asked for.
"Thank you" said Fazila, grabbing an umbrella and opening it, walking towards the bathroom.
In the bathroom Fazila did not shower as she felt her body suddenly shiver. He just took ablution and went back to the room. The girl chose to pray in the room rather than the mosque.
In addition to being lazy he also does not want to be caught if he does not participate in congregational prayer, he may get punishment. Fortunately, for a few days, Heni never noticed his movements so there was nothing to worry about.
While Fazila was still performing the three morning prayers her friends were getting ready to go to school. Although the rain is getting heavy outside there is no reason not to enter because their school is not so far away and they can get a punishment if they do not enter for no reason.
"Chila you were pr yesterday? New dong!" andin's door made Qiana cluck in annoyance.
"You can't do it yourself? Don't be a little cheated, pity your parents who have been hard-earned to send you to school, but his son is not even serious for school."
"Neither Nyai next time no longer," said Andin giggling.
"Always call me Nyai if advised," irritated Qiana.
"Because you like Nyai's kayak lecture."
"Take it, I'm done" said Fazila as he opened his face and stood up to change his uniform.
However, before his hand touched the uniform hanging on the hanger, his head suddenly throbbed in pain.
"Why does my head hurt like this?" fazila muttered while pressing his temple.
"Why, Chila? If it hurts do not need to go to school first let us ask permission to be the same ustadz later," said Anggita.
Fazila.
"No need, I'm fine, just a little dizzy. Maybe because of sleep deprivation last night," he said with a roar of warm breath touching Qiana's cheek.
"Are you really okay, Chila?" tanya Qiana started to worry about Fazila's state. From that warm breath Qiana guessed that Fazila was currently sick. His outstretched hand gently touched his best friend's forehead to check.
"Are you okay?" timpal Anggita and Fazila nodded steadily.
"You have Chila fever, you better not go to school" Qiana advised.
Fazila took the headache medicine and gulped it down. Then like a healthy person he grabbed the uniform and put it on.
Fazila had to go to school, she did not want to stay alone in the room. Alone makes his brain wander unbecoming, different if he is at school where seeing friends can instantly forget his sadness.
"How did you find the book?" fazila asked as she grabbed the textbooks and put them in the school bag. Last night he had not had time to enter the books because his mind was still chaotic.
"This is, for a minute, yes" Andin said with a hand that wrote quickly.
Done, they finally sat while waiting for time while hoping the rain would subside before they walked to school.
A santriwati stood in front of the room while distributing breakfast rations to them. They all ate voraciously except for Fazila who did not have any appetite these few days.
"Less full" Andin said when he ate. I don't know why regular portions seem not enough when eaten during the rain. Either because the body does need to burn more calories or indeed because Andin is greedy.
"Here take, I am full," said Fazila as he gave a plate of food in his hand. The rice was touched by just one spoon and Fazila felt like vomiting.
"You don't want to eat?" asked Andin and her other two best friends just a glance. Fazila.
"No, you can't just eat, I can buy snacks in the cafeteria later to increase the stomach contents," Andin refused if Fazila had to sacrifice for him.
"I have no appetite, it tastes bland in the mouth, eat it! There's a stock of bread in my closet, I'll just eat it later at school." Fazila continued to insist that Andin receive the food on the plate.
Andin let out a long sigh and then inevitably had to accept Fazila's breakfast ration instead of mubasir.
The three companions finished eating as Fazila grabbed a loaf of bread and put it in a bag then grabbed the jacket and put it on. They went to school after depositing dirty dishes into the kitchen.
There was nothing strange when they got to school. Fazila was already not looking moody as usual although still not much talk as before.
An ustadz gave the task of making a license not to enter school in Arabic then left the class briefly because there were other interests.
"Chiro!" call Izzam in a half-whispered voice and Fazila looked directly at Izzam.
"What's wrong?" chila asked, making the whole class look at her.
"Is anything important?" asked Fazila again and he immediately stood up then walked towards the bench Izzam no matter himself and Izzam increasingly became the spotlight of his friends.
"Yes, yesterday I did not get the invitation that you want, but last night Mr. Kyai invited me to go to the wedding of the woman named Danisa. Ordinary, Mr. Kyai was told to read a greeting to the groom's family as well as read the wedding sermon there."
Fazila's eyes were wide open to hear from Izzam.
"You're serious?" ask her with a sticky tone between sad and happy. Glad that Izzam finally got the information he wanted and sad that the wedding was really taking place.
"Do you know where the address is?"
Izzam.
"In front of Al falah mosque, around this area as well."
"What?!" strangled Fazila with a stifled voice. He did not expect that the wedding venue was not far from the boarding school.
"Hyai Fatimah was invited as well, if you want to come along I think you should approach her," Izzam's suggestion made Fazila pause for a moment. Eyes that were usually clear like marbles now began to blush to hold on to tears.
"Usually Nyai if you come to events outside the pesantren accompanied by a santriwati," said Izzam again and Fazila was still silent.
"But I'm sure without being asked he'll take you." Somehow Izzam who is usually calm suddenly chatty and Fazila who was chatty actually became quiet. It seems the world has turned upside down.
"When's the show?" fazila asked with a trembling voice. As much as Fazila's strength refrained from being strong in front of Izzam, it finally collapsed as well as its defense. Anyone who saw Fazila's expression right now would know that this girl was grieving.
"Chila, are you okay?" ask Izzam worried.
"I'm fine," Fazila said as she pressed her head.
"When's the show?" ask her with a grimace.
"Tomorrow in the morning at 9" said Izzam and the answer made Fazila's head throb faster.
"Is there still time to stop that?" fazila asked in her heart with her eyes closed.
"You're okay, right?" tanya Izzam couldn't believe that Fazila was okay.
"I'm fine thank you very much" said Fazila then returned to his own stool and put his head on the table.
"I have to see doctor Davin this afternoon as well, I'm sure he will control the preparation of the wedding venue before tomorrow is actually used. I hope it's not too late. I'm sure he wants to marry that girl out of disappointment to me" Fazila said.
Seriate.
