Celebrity School: Path to Fame

Celebrity School: Path to Fame
Chapter 8: Opportunities That Cannot Be Missed

"Well, that's all for the interview this time. Thank you, brother!!" Brother Tory smiled at me and said, "Sama-sama. It really reminds me of my past when I first got into this school." Yes, I managed to get all the answers from the interview. I'm so grateful Tory wanted me to take you to an interview. If not, I'd be confused about who to interview. Soon, I heard the bell ringing and that meant I had to get to class. In class, I sat next to Crush. Today we will study with Sumiko. The guy who offered me to get into this school. He teaches in the areas of expression and communication, how we should act and express ourselves in public. He was also the one who gave us all the interview assignments. Before the lesson started, suddenly Sumiko gave an announcement. "Kids. I want to tell you all something. SURE Entertainment will hold a free cover song singing competition. The winner will receive a certificate from SURE Entertainment and 1,000,000 dollars. Then, you will get an exclusive training class with the famous singer who was joined by SURE Entertainment, Cluck. If you are interested, you can see the school notice board. There are already listed all the needs that need to be prepared to follow the race." After the announcement, the lesson continued.

After hearing the announcement, my eyes twinkled. I know about Cluck. He is a musician who has been at his peak for years. I idolized him so much. Suddenly Crush patted me on the shoulder and whispered to me, "Hey you have a beautiful voice. What if you're in that race?" I just looked down and said, "I don't know. I'll think about it." Crush then just smiled at my answer. After school was over, I rushed to the notice board to see about the singing competition. The thing that Sumiko's mom explained was on the notice board. It's just that there's a registration link I can access where I can fill in my personal bio. I thought long. If I win this race, I can meet my idol. I can definitely meet my idol. Suddenly I heard someone calling me, "Amethyst!! Hello!" I took a gulp and found Gray. "What are you doing, Amethyst? How's it been all day?" I smiled and replied, "I'm fine. I was thinking should I take this race or not?" I pointed at the flyer so Gray could understand what race I was talking about. Gray then suddenly looked at me sharply.

"Amethyst, will you take the race with me?!!" Suddenly he begged me. "Eh!! Gray stand! We saw a lot of people!!" It is true that at least 1 person to enter the race. If more than 1 can. "Gray, can you sing?" I asked him. "I can play guitar and I want to use this race as an opportunity to show my guitar skills. But I need a singer." He spoke and looked at me pleading. Looks like he really wants to get into the DEMO band club. I'm not much different from him anyway. I don't know why I have the desire to prove myself in any way and this is one way to prove my singing talent. "OK Gray. Let's both enter the race." Gray smiled happily at my statement. "Wahh. Thank you Amethyst!!" "Either. Our fight starts here. Let's win this race." Gray nodded and then he calmly returned to his dorm. I went back to my dorm too.

Arriving at the dormitory I explained to Crush that I would participate. Crush directly supported me, "Wahh!! I'm sure you can win. I clearly see what your voice is like and your voice is beautiful." I smiled at Crush's statement to my voice. But of course I need training. "So, what song are you going to sing?" Crish asked me. Honestly, I am still confused as to what song to choose. Suddenly my hole trembled like Gray was chatting me.

Grey: Amethyst!! I'm so excited. Have you thought about the song?

Amethyst: Hmm not yet, I haven't thought of any song yet.

Amethyst: Of course. Explain all your ideas.

Gray: So, I think we can use classical artists' songs and make them acoustic.

Amethyst: Nice-nice. But what songs can.

Gray: Legendary song of the past titled 'Diamonds are a girl best friend'.

After hearing Gray's proposal, I immediately agreed. I don't know anything about 'Diamonds are a girl best friend'. I asked Crush about the song and the answer was, "It's a legendary song from an old movie called 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". You can find it on YouTube. It seems to be a long enough song. But even old and new songs I will still try to give my best. That's my way of proving myself that I'm a singer who can sing a variety of genres. I immediately opened Youtube and saw a video clip of the song 'Diamonds are a girl best friend'. All I can say is, this is a fabulous song. However, it has a matre side but also a smart woman who knows the reality of life. How all the comforts in this world can only be obtained with money. And maybe at that time women should not work, then one way to continue life is to marry a rich man. After hearing the history of the song, this song is very famous but certainly controversial. Well, nothing is famous without controversy, right?

I practiced singing in my room. While Crush became a kind of 'cheerleader' who was supporting me. "What do you think?" I just sang this song for the first time. Crush then commented, "Hmm, actually your voice is good. But lacking character. Do you understand what I mean?" I raised an eyebrow indicating I didn't understand what it meant. "My point is you have to make your singing style like you're a seductive woman but you just want money. Understood it? Because I think the way you sang was kind of monotonous. You sound good but monotonous." Hmm, that's right too. After all, a singer must understand the meaning of the song and his voice is not only pleasant to hear but must also be made as if to explore the song. That night I practiced continuously. Even Crush told me to go to bed because it was 10 at night and I was still practicing. I know this race is still 3 days away. But if I were monotonous, I wouldn't stop singing until my voice was out a character. Finally at 11pm, I heard my last record and the atmosphere started to sound seductive and a little playful and I was happy to hear it. In this way all I need to do is train the next volume of sound. I can't wait to enter this race.
