Chapter 2: Start at the Starting Line

Her Majesty smiled in agreement to hear my decision to audition. This is a dream I have long silenced because I feel that the dream is impossible. Her Majesty then asked, "What plans do you have for the audition?" I smiled and replied, "I'll sing." Your Majesty was quite surprised to hear my answer. He hesitated because he had never heard me sing before. I rarely sing myself and I can only sing a few songs. For this audition I plan to sing my childhood lullaby which was often sung by Her Majesty when I was a baby.

Her Majesty just smiled at my plan to sing her lullaby simple song. He then took me to his room. I've never been to your Majesty's room before. When I entered the room, the smell of tek and cake could be immediately smelled by my nose. Your Majesty is a sweet-toothed person. He likes everything sweet. He suddenly opened the closet and looked like he was looking for something. While looking for me to look at the pictures displayed in the room. There is one image that I am interested in is the picture of Mrs Mulia when she was young and was dancing ballet. I'm certainly amazed to see it. His Majesty's voice suddenly startled me, "Amethyst, come here, take a look." I then walked towards the closet and saw the same ballet suit as in the room photo of Mulia. "I used to take ballet lessons when I was young. This is the shirt I wore on my first show." I nodded then Your Majesty continued, "With a bit of sewing, I can turn it into a dress worthy of your audition." I was silent and shocked. Isn't the dress a precious memory for your Majesty? Why did he change it and give it to me? His Majesty then continued to speak, "It was my first and last performance. I was so overdone in dancing back then that at the end of the show, my legs sprained and it's been hard for me since then to do pointe." Ah, there he is. I thought it was a precious memory but I guess the shirt even held a bad memory.

Your Majesty then began to measure my body so that he could adjust his clothes to my body. He said with a laugh, "You're already big." I just smiled a little. After that he went to the equipment room to look for sewing equipment. I also went back to my room. There I tried to remember again the lyrics of the song lullaby Mulia. As I recall the title of her lullaby was 'Keep running till you make it'. According to His Holiness, he sang the song every time he was in a difficult time.

Amethyst sings and records his voice to hear whether he sounds false or not. He was suddenly shocked by the sound of applause. He looked back and found his orphanage friend named Orchard. Orchard was his closest friend in this orphanage. She is a bookish girl and loves to read. I think Orchard is a cute girl with her freckles and red lips. He also has red hair. Her stature was really similar to the character of a book I had read that was Anne of Green Gables. I consider Orchard my brother. After realizing that she had heard me singing in my room, I blushed in embarrassment. Orchard then said, "Good show, Amethyst!" I just cleared my throat and said, "Are you sure? I'm not fales, am I?" Orchard smiled and replied, "No, I like to listen to my brother's voice. She sings well." I smiled with relief. After a long time of singing practice I took Orchard to the kitchen to pick up the cherry pie that was kept by Her Majesty. Orchard was thrilled with my invitation.

Arriving in the kitchen, I cut the pie for me and Orchard. While eating the pie, I told Orchard about my plans to audition for The Fame Academy. Orchard was very happy to hear my plan. He immediately revealed that he supported me. He even bluntly said if I had the eve of a star. Yes, I can only blush in shame. Shortly thereafter, Your Majesty called me. I told Orchard to wash the dishes and he nodded. I went to Mulia's room and she showed me the stitches.

I was amazed to see the results of the stitches from Your Majesty. With a little stitching alone can make his ballet shirt beautiful. The shirt has a plain impression. Fits the concept I brought. I hugged His Majesty and thanked him. I took the shirt to my closet and took good care of it. From that day onwards I started preparing myself for auditions. I began to practice singing frequently. If it wasn't for their support maybe I wouldn't be this big. This is the first step, the start of all the games that I don't know what will be like.

Finally the day of the audition arrived, my heart was beating loudly. I can't believe that I'm really going to do this. But I've chosen and I can't run from my choice. I wear a white dress that has been sewn by your Majesty. Her Majesty gave me an encouraging word, "May you succeed, I'm sure you can. It's a simple lullaby song, but I'm sure it'll catch the hearts of the judges." I just smiled at your Majesty's words and said, "Thank you." Orchard then suddenly came and hugged me and said, "Hey, if you're accepted at the audition today you should promise to buy us all a steakhouse!" I laughed at Orchard's words. But then he promised to her. After I managed to get the position of 50 people who were elected it never hurts to celebrate with a little luxury. The other kids at the orphanage then gave me some encouragement. I smiled at them and expressed my gratitude. I started going to the audition. This is the first step to getting to the world of stardom that I have always dreamed of.
