Annette saw Egbert who was already sitting on the edge of the bed right beside her lying down. He then went to fetch a bowl of soup and with his robot-like movements, Annette saw Egbert lifting a spoon and thrusting a mouthful of soup into her mouth.
"Eat"
Annette blinked her eyes.
"Hurry now!" Urged Egbert, his gaze clearly showed impatience.
Annette opened her mouth and took a mouthful of soup just, "Akh"
It was still hot enough to leave a burning sensation on his lips.
"Hot?"
"Eum" Nod Annette. Just when he wanted to touch his lips, instantly his eyelashes trembled violently when he found Egbert's cold thumb had already landed there.
His entire nerve cell stiffened feeling the gentle swab of the thumb on the surface of his lips. Making the rest of the pain from burning, it gradually disappeared replaced by the texture of Egbert's cold skin.
"Still in pain?"Egbert's voice sounded not soft. It was indifferent as always. Just that simple question managed to make Annette's heart rustle.
"Not anymore" Annette seemed to blink her eyes nervously. In his heart he wondered, what is really wrong with this man? Why was it suddenly so generous that there was time to feed him soup?
"I'll stir it up for a while" Tukas Egbert who started stirring the soup made it slightly warmer. Before giving it to Annette, he tasted it a little. Finding a trace of garlic touching his mouth, he continued to pursed his lips dislikes.
"It's not too hot" Egbert raised a spoonful of soup right at Annette's mouth, "Eat"
Annette gaped at the obvious spoon that was her mouth but Egbert just used it as if...
"What's wrong?" Egbert asked who saw Annette silently flinch at the spoon.
Annette blinked her eyes and continued to shake her head, "It's nothing" She opened her mouth and awkwardly sipped the soup from the spoon with Egbert's mouth.
"Your cheeks are red, are you sick?"
Annette was completely unaware that the warmth had run through both of her cheeks, "Ah, no"
"No?" Egbert seemed to raise one of his eyebrows in half-belief. He came to make sure of himself by sticking the back of his hand on Annette's forehead.
"Not hot" he said.
That small attention, even though Egbert did so with great indifference, but Annette could not lie that her female heart had fought with an unspeakable taste.
"Eat again" This time Egbert took a small piece of chicken meat with the soup and thrust it into Annette's mouth.
After receiving a few mouthfuls, Annette's body was now slightly energized. The warm taste of ginger soup was still felt in his chest and his nausea was slightly reduced.
Egbert went to put the bowl on the table, then he reached into something from his pocket. He pulled out a handkerchief and slowly leaned over to Annette.
Not rough and not soft, Egbert wiped the surface of Annette's mouth with a small piece of cloth. Of course, Annette, who received the treatment, found her heart beating uncontrollably.
"No matter what you bear is a baby vampire though, I want you to stay strong and not think about dying" Egbert said. For a moment he stared deep into the bottom of Annette's black eyes.
"You can trust me enough..." Egbert's hand fell stroking the gentle mane of Annette's hair. Putting a few strands of her hair behind her ears, then the cold hand gently smoothed on Annette's right cheekbones, "You and the baby you're carrying. You're both sure to be fine"
This time not only was his heart rippling, not only his female soul trembling, but...
'Can I fall in love with this guy?'
......................
In the afternoon even though Annette felt very weak, he still decided to come to work at the minimarket. He was relieved that Egbert had not held him back. Or else, perhaps such a protective attitude would only make him misunderstand.
"Why did you come to work?" Ask Laura who has just finished serving customers who come to bring goods to the cashier.
"I've been absent so much, if I have to take time off, I doubt my job is still safe" Annette said. With a very slow movement, he picked up a few items on the shelf and saw if it had expired or not.
If it had been he would have separated it and if not the item would have re-laid its place of origin.
"What should you be worried about? You have a big reward for the deal you signed, as soon as you get it. Don't be this minimarket, you might even be able to open a big restaurant with that kind of money"
Hearing that, Annette's pair of shoulders continued to fall helplessly.
Looking at the scene, Laura let out a heavy sigh, "Why hum? Why do you look so sad? Do you regret the deal you signed forcibly?"
Annette took a few steps closer to the cashier's desk, then pulled up one of the chairs and sat right next to Laura, "What if I'm sorry?"
"Yes sorry" Tukas Laura was as energetic as ever.
"What should I do after that?" Annette's voice sounded weak without any fanfare.
Facing that, Laura looked a long sigh. Then he patted Annette softly on the shoulder and said, "What do you want to do? You want to run away and take the kid with you hum?" Ask Laura. A glance of his gaze led to Annette's stomach which was now a little bloated.
"Tell me, if that's what you want. I'll definitely help you"
Annette was silent for a moment. His hand stroked his stomach which was no longer as thin as before. He could feel its surface already slightly bulging. He was reminded of the words of the vampire doctor this morning...
"I am worried that the baby in the human body will eat blood cells in the body and do not rule out the possibility if this happens, then the process of pregnancy development will be faster. That generally ranges from nine months but this can be five months or maybe even four months depending on how much the baby consumes its mother's blood"
Looking at the silent Annette with a pensive look, Laura again patted the girl softly on the shoulder, "Annette, what's the matter?" The question is quite gentle.
A trace of a faint smile rose on Annette's lips, "Sister, what if I fall in love with that vampire man?"
That question suddenly made Laura's eyes widen in shock.
"I mean, you—"
"He's quite handsome, according to which older sister doesn't like handsome men?" Annette smiled faintly, it was slicing as if to spare her own naivety.
"Initially all I had was fear and a half-death annoyance towards his indifference and apathy. But it was noon..."
Annette recalled the boring scene of Egbert coming to bribe a few spoons of soup into her mouth patiently. An expressionless face came wiping his burning lips and with an indifferent look of eyes asking did he hurt?
Things became so complicated when Egbert stared deep into the bottom of his eyes, while putting on a serious face he deciphered the sentences that managed to mess things up.
That got Annette entangled...
"His indifferent tenderness, managed to make me fall in love"
Annette wouldn't have expected to fall in love so soon. Wasn't his heart too innocent or perhaps he was too weak in this?
