Egbert continued running as quickly as possible to find where the scent came from. Making Aldrich who was left behind, gaping did not understand. As a mix, Aldrich's olfactory instincts were not as strong as his father's who was a pure vampire. That's why Aldrich could not detect the scent of his mother's blood at all because of the great distance.
Though puzzled to see the man who had been flirting away without waiting for him at all, Aldrich chose to catch up.
Deep in the hallway, Aldrich saw Egbert standing in front of a room door. The man first tried to open the door, but failed. It looks like it's locked. Until then Egbert went to break it down hard. The door opened and Egbert went inside.
"What's that workroom?" Ask Aldrich, who was momentarily stopped at the end of the hallway.
After breaking through the door and entering, Egbert saw the state of the room that was dim yellow by the still-lit sleeping lights. It was an empty room in the castle that was occasionally used if a guest like Doctor Robbin came. Seeing the two people lying on the bed, Egbert frowned his pair of eyebrows with his eyes glaring sharply there.
Finding the scent of blood growing closer, Egbert's eyes continued to sparkle coldly with a cross of red light. He moved quickly to press the switch and the room was instantly lit. Egbert's eyes grew full of surprise when he found Annette's body drooping stiffly on the bed with a sleeping woman leaving fresh blood on the corner of her lips that had dried up.
"Annette" Egbert ran over to the bed and grabbed Annette's small body in a sling. He could see how the pretty face was paled and the bite marks were clearly imprinted on his neckline. Egbert's eyes darkened furiously and turned to the woman in bed.
Emma felt troubled by the sudden reflection of light falling on her face. It made him frown and slowly lift his heavy eyelids from drowsiness, "Who turned on the lights?" The distinctive sound of his new sleep fell in silence.
At that moment Egbert could clearly see who the woman lying there was.
That's her!
How could he be here?
"Mamaa" That was Aldrich shouting as he ran into the room. He could not help panicking at the sight of his mother who was in Egbert's arms, it drooped weakly helplessly.
Looking at the woman on the bed, she clenched her hands until her knuckles turned white, "What did you do to my mom?" His voice growled as his teeth grumbled to dampen the anger.
The commotion made Emma lazily get up from the bed. At that time Aldrich could see there was a trace of his mother's blood stuck in the woman's mouth. He who could not help his anger, jumped straight into the bed and occupied the woman's body, "How dare you suck my mama's blood" Aldrich unhesitatingly strangled the woman's thin neck.
Makes Emma flinch and panic as her breathing cavity begins to narrow, "Huk.le-pas!"
Aldrich did not take it off and instead further strengthened his power. Emma felt the strangulation would almost kill her if it continued for longer. He who was panicking, quickly divorced the two small hands that clamped tightly to his neck. But Aldrich mustered his powers so deeply, making Emma have trouble divorcing him.
'Who is this boy?'
'I can die if he keeps strangling me like this'
In that helpless panic, his gaze accidentally fell on the figure standing beside the bed. It was a well-built man who was carrying a woman with his sturdy arms. His pair of eyes continued to twitch wide, 'Egbert?'
Emma's eyes that had been watering in pain from enduring the pain of Aldrich's giggling, stared with compassion at Egbert, 'I beg you..'
'I beg you to help me quickly..'
Egbert could read the meaning of the woman's helpless eyes. But he only responded with a flat expression. Highlight his indifferent and distant eyes, did not save even a setitis of sympathy.
"Huk.l-get off.." Emma had no idea Egbert would care about her at all. As a result he could only desperately struggle to tear apart the boy's hand which almost crushed his neck bone.
Aldrich who heard that smiled coldly, "I understand"
Emma was already shedding tears with the torment. Just now he thought Egbert was coming back to tell the boy to stop. But who would have thought Egbert instead supported him to torture and only warned him not to kill. Emma could not help but disappoint in her heart.
'However I was once your lover..'
'Should you be this indifferent to me who was almost strangled to death?'
Egbert walked up the stairs and took Annette to his room. Very slowly, Egbert laid Annette's body on the bed. His movements were met with caution as he grabbed the woman's wrist and felt her pulse. That's very weak. He could not help his anxiety, even though the existence of the feeling was a little unnatural.
But the reaction of her body that instantly moved quickly contacted Mary, it confirmed everything. How scared she would be if something happened to Annette.
"This was your fault. Why would you let a stranger in without my permission"
Mary stood with her face bent in remorse, "I'm sorry sir, I really thought she was your guest"
"I don't care, as soon as you bring a human doctor to come here. As for how, that's what you think of yourself"
"Okay sir, I'll find him soon and bring him here soon"
Though it was only one in the morning, Mary really did not know where to find a doctor. Since it was his fault, he should take responsibility.
Taking the car out of the castle, Mary finally makes her way to the city to a nearby hospital that works twenty-four hours.
Egbert sat on the edge of the bed, grabbed Annette's hand and grasped her gently. The woman's palm felt cold and she could not control her panic at seeing her small lips that used to be fresh red, now paled faded.
Egbert softly kissed the back of Annette's hand and said in a voice that just trembled, "You.."
"You should be fine"
Nearly an hour passed, Mary finally managed to bring a doctor to the castle. That he got after struggling to find from one hospital and another hospital, until he got it from one of the private hospitals.
"Sir, the doctor is here"
Mary came with a human doctor into Egbert's room.
Hearing that, Egbert immediately got up from his seat and revealed the bed curtain, "Quick go check!"
Seeing how emergency the situation was, the young doctor quickly approached the bed and prepared to check with a stethoscope hanging around his neck. But upon seeing the face of the female patient who was lying there. Just like that he was stunned in surprise...
'Annette?'
