Unstoppable Antihero
Chapter 23: The Cold Night

Kick the foot tread in the middle of a crowded street will crowd the community. The human line looks neat like a group of ants carrying food for the colony. The sky looked bright like an ocean floating above the clouds.

A horseman puffed his chest with pride. A sword seemed to be neatly sheathed and bound to his waist. Behind the short-haired young man was seen two other horses were following, where one of the horses was ridden by two young men, while the horse on the right was only ridden by one person.

Atlas exhaled a long breath and then complained, “As usual, daylight is so hot that my skin is made to almost burn. I feel like I'm in the middle-east.”

“See who complains?” reply Felix who was riding a horse in the front row. “You were just hitching a ride on a horse that Kaysen was riding on. Don't complain much, Atlas.”

“Good, good.” Atlas obviously did not want to extend the subject.

Glancing around for a while, Atlas finally brought up a new topic of conversation. He glanced at the horseman to Felix's right for a few moments. “But I really didn't expect that you'd be here, Anthony Blade.”

The horseman named Anthony smiled. “I also did not expect. But I guess I should do it. At least as a representative of Eximo, I guess ..”.

“You are truly the person in charge.”

The conversation ended. Troops from the Air Kingdom led by Felix, now enter the Thanatos Desert. As the leader of the team, of course this makes Felix became increasingly nervous. However, with the King's absence as leader, he must be able to surpass himself to be able to win this battle.

On the other hand, the deeper into the Thanatos Desert, the more Atlas lost hope. He felt, even after coming back to life for the second time in a different world, he still had to feel the war again and again.

“Stop!” exclaim Felix gave the order.

The troops immediately stopped as ordered. Felix took a deep breath, then twisted in order to face his troops. Looking at everyone's gaze, clearly this made Felix even more cautious of what he was about to say.

“Today we will make a tent here!” Felix said it was as hard as possible. “Found the tent and don't let your guard down a bit! Tomorrow or maybe tonight, a fight can happen! Disperse!”

“Good, Commander!”

The wind blew as Felix ended his sentence. The troops immediately moved to prepare all the preparations to be done, to set up a tent, including a medical tent and their commander's tent.

Atlas came down from the horse, looking ahead. Not a bit of this young man was interested in seeing the troops behind him, just staring blankly at the endless-looking desert.

The big party is about to begin, the invited ones have prepared themselves as best they can. However, the dance floor was still untouched before the participants spread the red carpet while dancing with swords in their hands.

“Atlas, why did you stay there?” kaysen asked who was looking at the young man's back in front of him.

“No.” Atlas took a deep breath, then exhaled it. “Just try to breathe fresh air before tainted.”

“So yes?” Kaysen tilted his head. Sometimes he felt he could not understand Atlas, but now he was made even more clueless.

During the day in the heat of the sun in the desert makes the skin like it was about to be burned. However, the Air Kingdom forces worked hard setting up tents for the party preparations.

The sky was now dark, decorated with thousands of stars shining from far away. Atlas sat on a rock, looking blankly ahead while thinking of something.

Shortly after, his eyes caught something in the sand. It was indeed just a cursory glance, but Atlas could not be lied to. He strongly believes in his five senses.

“Come out of there!” Atlas stood up, walking slowly forward as he passed Erabus to his right hand. “I'm not talking to a ghost. You know?”

It didn't take long, someone came out of the sand. At once Atlas stopped the move, coinciding with the appearance of the Libra Scales in his right hand. He is ready for a fight.

The figure that came out from within the sand was someone wearing a robe made of sheepskin. His face was covered by a black cloth, so the only thing visible was his two eyes.

“I don't expect it to be like this actually,” said the cloaked figure. His voice sounded like the voice of a man, but Atlas did not know who exactly the person in front of him was now. However ….

“Actually I don't want to be involved in this,” Atlas said. “But I feel something different from you.”

“One coincidence. I also feel something different from you.”

Stealing the opportunity for a while, Atlas glanced around. There was no one here, because indeed this place was quite far from the existence of the Air Kingdom army. But this is precisely the best situation. Atlas felt a bad feeling just by looking at this cloaked figure before him.

Without the slightest bit of fear, Atlas looked forward while lifting the libar scales in front of his chest. On this clear night, the desert temperature was indeed low, but there was no gust of wind. The atmosphere was increasingly tense when Atlas and robed figures formed the horses.

“You seem very confident in your strength,” said the cloaked figure. “However, the strongest is me!”

“No one knows!” Atlas blew the left side of the scales. “Libra Scales: Equivalent Exchange!”

The wind instantly gushed fiercely, smashing into the cloaked figure. It was not enough to get there, at once Atlas took the sand with his left hand.

Before Atlas could use force, he was forced to jump far back when the sand he stepped on instantly turned into hot lava. Atlas's breathing was not allowed to see this, because his life was almost drifting if he was careless just a little.

In front there, a cloaked figure is still standing upright while putting both hands in the pants pocket. The sturdy posture he used seemed very intimidating while showing high confidence in him.

“That was very interesting.” The cloaked figure stared intently ahead. “However, just get here for today. I don't want ‘that guy’ nags all night if I keep you company playing.”

“Hah?” The action of the cloaked figure was very unexpected by Atlas. However, one thing for sure he knew was that the cloaked figure had come from the Fire Kingdom.

“As I said.” The cloaked figure turned around, starting to walk leisurely while waving his right hand. “See you on the battlefield.”

“Cih!” Atlas was ashamed of himself. Unable to move when his opponent was undercut.

Even so, now Atlas must accept it. Only in the meeting earlier did he understand how great the difference in experience was between him and the cloaked figure. The one who covered his face with that black cloth, was a war veteran.
