The post office in the Capital of Neverley was apparently quite close to the government stronghold of the Kingdom of Neverley, right in the middle of the capital's crowded. Altezza and his three friends decided to visit the post office first before they went on tour. Not wanting to linger outside, the four of them immediately entered the multi-story building that was quite large, and dominated by the white paint. Both from the outside design and all sorts of decorations in it, the building that became the center of the post in the capital had the impression that carried a classic and elegant feel. Big and luxurious, yet elegant and classic, that's about how simple it is.
"Good afternoon, welcome ...!" greet one of the several male guards standing near the entrance. They were in uniform like a knight, and appeared to be equipped with a sword that was always hanging in a belt.
"It's a lot," muttered Alaia, commenting on the mood of the post office this afternoon. The situation is quite crowded, a lot of people who want to send or receive letters. Not only letters, the post office also seems to provide goods delivery services both locally and between continents.
Aaron walked first, leading his friends to one part of the post office, a special section for receiving or sending letters. Arriving at one of the reception desks, the four of them immediately asked for confirmation of the letter on their behalf to a blonde woman in red uniform who was standing guard behind the table.
The woman then coordinated with one of her friends, before they finally went into the warehouse to check if there were any letters addressed to the four travelers.
A few minutes had passed, Altezza was still waiting with hope and curiosity, while one by one his friends had gotten their letters. Among the crowd of the post office, the three friends seemed engrossed in reading the letter addressed to them. Eugene seemed to be smiling happily, and so did Aaron when he read the letter in their hands.
"Is there no letter for you, Altezza?" alaia asked, looking very attentive to the black-haired man who was waiting.
"Come on, I don't know" replied Altezza, no longer wishing for a letter for him.
"Excuse me, is there really no letter from Zephyra addressed to Altezza's name?" asked Aaron to one of the post office guards.
"We searched for it, but no letter from Zephyra came either yesterday or today. We apologize" the blonde-haired woman told Aaron and Altezza.
Because there was no letter for him, Altezza decided to make his own letter, which he then handed over to the delivery party to be sent to his country.
...
Along with Alaia, Altezza is seen walking out of the post office without getting a letter from home. The gray-eyed girl seemed to feel sad for Altezza - who was a black-haired man who looked ordinary.
"It's a shame there's no letter for you, yes. I'm sorry, it's possible that the letter was changed, or there was a mistake in the delivery." said Alaia, then smiled at Altezza who was standing next to her, seemingly trying to comfort the man.
Altezza chuckled, turned and smiled at the gray-haired girl as she said, "it's okay, Alaia. Why be the sad you?"
"I am saddened, because I have always thought that a wanderer receiving a letter from his hometown is one of the precious things" Alaia said, speaking with a downcast outlook.
The black-robed man walked slightly over from the main door of the building, also so as not to hinder the people who did not end up passing there. He stood a little by the side of the road, along with Alaia who seemed not far from him.
"Where are you going?" ask Alaia, curious.
The situation had suddenly become awkward, between the two of them were both silent. Alaia who along the way continued to chatter a lot of things, suddenly just ran out of the topic of conversation. While Altezza-he is indeed a person who rarely opens talks if it feels unnecessary or unwilling.
"Revelation!" cetus Alaia, pointing towards the sky, saw a white dove that seemed to fly rapidly towards Altezza - as if it were about to crash into the man.
It certainly immediately changed the awkward situation that had been created, both of them were equally surprised, he said, until finally a white dove flew and landed on the left shoulder of Altezza with a paper roll tied to one of his legs. Alaia looked in admiration at the pigeon and immediately said, "it looks like she brought something for you!"
Snapping, Altezza untied and took a roll of paper that was on one of the pigeon's legs. When the scroll was released, the pigeon immediately flapped its wings and flew as high as possible.
"Is that a letter? You were sent a letter by a pigeon, that's so cool!" alaia said, staring with enlarged pupils, sparkling at the same time curious about the contents of the paper roll that is now in the hands of Altezza.
The scroll was slowly opened by Altezza, before he read a few sentences written in ink on the paper. First of all, Altezza's expression looked very pleased with the wide smile that was plastered clearly. True to what Alaia said, the scroll was a letter.
"Altezza, look! Isn't that the royal logo?!" alaia exclaimed, looking at the back of the paper and finding a golden eagle-shaped logo stamp on one end of the paper.
"Official letter?" altezza muttered as he turned the paper he read and looked at his royal logo, without the slightest sound being heard.
"What's it say?" ask Alaia back. The gray-haired girl seemed to have quite a high curiosity, as well as being enthusiastic about the letter that was being read by Altezza.
Wrinkles were seen on Altezza's forehead, and the smile that initially seemed happy slowly faded away. The black-haired man showed more shock reactions as well as confusion, visible from both irises of his black eyes. But the expression was not too visible from his face, so the gray-haired girl who was in front of him did not notice it.
"Darkness?! The southern border of Zephyra has fallen ...?! The Central Continent is in a state of emergency, and the declaration of war has been echoed? What does that mean!?" inner Altezza, swept away in questions that spontaneously arose as he read the last few sentences of his letter.
"What's wrong? You don't seem so excited about the letter, is it not for you? Did the ditch send it wrong?" alaia asked, looking questioningly at the figure of Altezza in front of her with a slightly tilted head.
Altezza smiled slightly, shook his head and said, "there's nothing. The pigeon was right, this letter was indeed addressed to me. It's just .. It looks like there's a problem at home."
The black-haired man then marched back into the post office leaving Alaia for a moment there, intending to send another letter to his country. The gray-haired girl was just silent, with a confused expression towards Altezza's attitude. As the man walked at a slight pace through the main door, he passed Eugene and Aaron.
"Altezza, is there anything left?" asked Aaron when he saw Altezza walking back into the post office among the crowd of visitors.
"Yes, more or less like that. Alaia was waiting for you in front," replied Altezza briefly, briefly throwing a small smile at the two of them, before then he continued his steps.
Aaron and Eugene were silent for a moment, staring at each other with puzzled looks, before they decided to immediately exit the building and meet Alaia who was already standing there waiting for them.
