All had gathered at the dining table that had been filled with various kinds of dishes. Happy birthday sounds so loud. Everyone looks so happy to celebrate David's birthday.

The procession of cutting the birthday cake began. David quickly cut his birthday cake in large sizes. The man looks also very happy knowing Emily made a special birthday cake for him.

While Mrs Grace, Mr. Tom and Mrs Elina did not expect to get the first piece of cake from David. That's because Emily had asked the three parents not to accept the cake from David. The three are not suspicious at all at Emily's request. They just thought that Emily wanted David to be the first person to enjoy the cake.

To David's right is Tessa who looks impatient to receive the first cake from David. The girl, Mrs Grace, also hopes that David will give the first piece of cake to the beautiful girl he recognizes as his girlfriend.

Emily who had been standing to the left of David looked very upset. The girl bit the ends of her nails hoping to reduce the sense of misfortune that befell her. Her face could not bear to see Tessa who was very enthusiastic about giving cake from her boyfriend David.

Sure enough, the first piece of cake davis immediately gave to Tessa. "First cake for the beautiful woman I love" said David.

"What are you doing, Mily?" david didn't believe Emily's behavior.

"Eat the cake" replied Emily casually as if not feeling guilty. But to be honest Emily feels deeply guilty for ruining the romantic scene between her best friend David and her new boyfriend Tessa.

Tessa who heard Emily's reply rounded her mouth perfectly.

"Yes, I know you're eating cake. But you know that...."

"I just want to try my own cake. Is it Dave's fault?" Emily did not let David voice her protest.

"What's wrong with you?" David seemed to run out of words with what his best friend was doing.

"Mily.you ruined David's happy day" said Mrs Elina. The woman felt very guilty to everyone who was there because of her daughter.

The girl realized that what she was doing was ruining David's happy day. Moreover, Emily has disappointed Tessa. David's new girlfriend is a good woman. If, after tonight, David and Tessa's relationship is over, Emily really is the first person to take responsibility.

"I'm sorry Dave and Tessa" said Emily, bowing her face. Not the surprise he expected. If the girl knew that David was going to bring her boyfriend, of course Emily wouldn't do something stupid that everyone there still doesn't know.

David couldn't bear to see Emily feel as guilty as she is now. The man clasped Emily's shoulders to ease the guilt the girl felt.

"It's okay, Mily" said David. "Tessa must have forgiven you. Is that right, baby?" keep the man again.

Tessa doesn't believe what David said. His girlfriend was so quick to let go when Emily apologized. It turns out David is still the same as they used to be in school. The man gave great importance to Emily who was his best friend.

Tessa smiled at Emily, "Try Mily, forget it."

"Thank You Tessa... I'm really sorry," repeated Emily sincerely.

"alright... It seems like all this misunderstanding is over" David said.

The parents were relieved that David was not angry with Emily. Especially Miss Elena was so relieved that Tessa was so kind as to forgive her daughter.

"If you want to be the first one to get my cake, I'm supposed to be honest with Mily, there's no need to take it from Tessa. I don't think Tessa's gonna get mad if I give you the first cake. Isn't that so dear?"

Tessa just smiled stiffly in response to David's words.

"Actually I don't want that cake" Emily said.

David did not believe his best friend's confession. If she didn't want it, then Emily would have to take it by force.

"Then why did you do that?" david asked confused.

Emily hesitated to answer. The girl was wondering if she should be honest or not.

"I just.." The girl bit her lower lip because she didn't know what to say anymore.

"Because what's Mily? honest me... Hmmmm...."

Not only was David curious about the reason for Emily's actions, but everyone who was there also wanted to know the girl's true reason.

"Hmmm.... I just wanted to save Tessa," Emily's answer added to everyone's confusion.

"Save me? from what?" tessa doesn't understand what Emily's saying. Tessa feels she is not in danger, why should she be saved? That's how Tessa thinks.

"Save from what?" David can't wait to know the truth.

"From this...." Emily also put in a piece of David's birthday cake made by the girl herself.

In that instant, David widened his eyes. There was only a salty taste in the cake that he ate.

"That's why I wanted to save Tessa," Emily smiled stiffly seeing David unable to swallow the cake in her mouth.

"The cake is special just for you" Emily said with a smile.

"Milyyy....."

"Well happy birthday again, my friend." The girl was finally able to laugh triumphantly.
