The Grand Duchess Aldrich

The Grand Duchess Aldrich
Chapter 8. The Fifth Prince of the Eastern Empire

After listening to the two complaints from the Eastern Imperial guards and the entrance gate guards of the capital, Aimee immediately nodded her head naturally, acting as if she was a good mediator.

Aimee straightened the direction of the horse carriage, then smiled and said, "Sorry for the inconvenience of the prince, the gatekeeper may be less coordinated more maturely, I will reprimand the noble in charge of the gate for you. Each entrant is usually done a strict search by the gatekeeper of our capital, once again I say a huge apology."

Shortly after Aimee apologized, the window of the horse-drawn carriage opened. Appearing the head of a handsome young man, it seemed like he was younger than Althaf yet older than himself. The man looked at Aimee first before a servant opened the horse carriage door for him.

The man bearing the title of Prince quickly got off his carriage and stood in front of Aimee. The man's face was milky white, typical of the whites of the Orient. His eyes were almond shaped, his eyebrows were very neat and perfectly formed a sword. Those eyes had two sharp cold auras, Aimee felt like she was facing Althaf. Although Althaf's aura is more intimidating than this, Aimee still feels the sensation of deja vu.

"Grand Duchess Aldrich," said the man, then bowed briefly at Aimee. Aimee reciprocated the man's respectful attitude by slightly pressing her knees and resting both of her palms on the right waist.

Seeing Aimee returning their prince's greetings with their Eastern Empire's tatakrama, all of them were shocked. They did not expect that there was a Venetian nobleman who knew their culture.

The Prince of the Eastern Empire only smiled faintly when he saw Aimee knowing the culture of giving a special greeting to the noble lady in the Empire. Aimee re-enforced her posture, then said, "You can-" Unfinished Aimee spoke, suddenly from the back of the carriage sounded something collapsed, it was then followed by a horse carriage that was shaken and slightly tilted to the side.

The Eastern Imperial Guards rushed to check the carriage, then he reappeared and reported the condition of the carriage to the prince. "Your highness, the rear wheel is broken. We've run out of spare wheels, and there's some parts of the train that suddenly break."

The prince glanced at his chariot, his face still looking calm even though his horse carriage was damaged. Aimee who saw her plan go smoothly smiled, then looked back at the prince of the Eastern Empire and offered a ride. "What if your car is repaired first at Aldrich's residence?"

The Eastern Imperial Prince looked back at Aimee, then gave a brief nod. "Thank you."

Aimee nodded briefly as well, then replied, "It's nothing, your honor."

Aimee immediately escorted the prince of the Eastern Empire into his chariot, then together towards Aldrich's residence.

Inside the carriage, Aimee tried to break the silence and began to play out her main plan. Take the heart of the representatives of the Eastern Empire to be invited to side with the Crown Prince's camp.

"How was your trip here? It must be exhausting, right?" aimee asked, smiling sweetly towards the prince of the Eastern Empire.

The prince smiled back and nodded, the man's smile feeling very cold. "You're right, because I was twice confronted by pirates."

Aimee put on a look of surprise, then replied, "Oh my god, really? Are you okay?"

The prince nodded. "I'm fine, only a few bodyguards got hurt." The man paused for a moment, then continued. "It looks like your Mandarin is very shrewd, Grand Duchess."

Aimee opened a folding fan and covered half of her face. "You praise me too much to be ashamed of, I feel my Mandarin still has many shortcomings."

"I used to do business with a noble of the Eastern Empire, the Prime Minister of Qin. He is very good, our business is also running very smoothly and successfully. We often had meetings together, sometimes he introduced his culture to me, and so did I. The two of us exchanged languages, then on the day of the last meeting, he gave me this Phoenix hair pin as a memento, "Aimee replied, then touched her soft hairpin.

The prince of the Eastern Empire nodded, he started to look comfortable with Aimee. A few minutes later, Louis suddenly stung the voice telling him they had arrived at Aldrich's residence.

The carriage door was opened immediately, the prince went down first and unexpectedly helped Aimee get off the carriage personally. Aimee thanked him after stepping on the grass perfectly.

Aimee invited the prince in, when at the door she passed Daniel Zynx, Althaf's right-hand man. Aimee immediately stopped her steps and said, "Master Daniel, please send a letter to the palace that the representative of the East has arrived and is now in the Grand Duchy. Before there were some unexpected events, I'll take responsibility if there's a problem."

Daniel bowed towards Aimee and the Eastern Imperial Prince. "Okay, your honor. Then, I'll excuse you."

Aimee gave a brief nod, then turned her head towards the prince of the Eastern Empire. "Your Majesty, I apologize for not being able to escort you personally to the resting place. My personal servant, Cecilia will guide you. I hope you can enjoy a satisfying break at the Grand Duchy. In a few hours it just so happens that lunchtime is about to start, I hope you're willing to have lunch with us."

The Eastern Imperial Prince nodded and smiled amiably. "Not a problem, Grand Duchess. Thank you for being willing to help me."

Aimee nodded thinly while continuing to smile as her answer.

After Cecilia brought the Eastern Empire prince to the guest room, Aimee quickly went to meet Althaf in the man's study. Without knocking on the door, Aimee walked in and immediately sat herself on the sofa. He was tired of putting on a smile all day to that prince of the Eastern Empire.

"The representatives of the Eastern Empire are currently in the Grand Duchy" Aimee said, then biting the apples on the table.

"Good." Just that word that was thrown from Althaf's mouth, made Aimee feel annoyed. Aimee's efforts helped her, the man only gave appreciation with one word. Tch, even that answer does not deserve to be called an appreciation.

"Do you know who the representatives of the Eastern Empire are?" asked Aimee again, she planned on making Althaf surprised.

"Fifth Prince of the Eastern Empire, Xiao Li. He was the third person close to the throne after the crown prince and the third Prince of the Eastern Empire. The fifth prince was the siblings of their crown prince," replied Althaf, the man at once giving an explanation of the background of the prince who was the representative of the Eastern Empire.

Aimee raised her left eyebrow. "Where do you know? Isn't the information regarding who will be the representative of the Eastern Empire unknown?"

Althaf replied without looking at Aimee, the man was busy with a pile of paper on his desk. The man nonchalantly shrugged both of his shoulders and said, "I also only found out today."

Aimee rolled her eyes lazily, then stood up and spoke originally while walking out of Althaf's study. "If this keeps me going crazy, I'll offer to be the fifth prince's concubine for a long time."

Althaf who heard this immediately stopped his activity, then looked at Aimee's back who was walking out. The man was silent and just stared at Aimee, not replying to anything.
