The Charm of the Heir
Chapter 1

“Who are you?”

“Jason William Smith.” Liam introduced himself to the man in front of him.

Joseph Smith's body went limp when he heard the name. He sat down on his leather sofa. His gaze was still fixed on the handsome man in front of him. His blue eyes were exactly the same as hers.

“Pa.” Sabela Smith, the wife of Josep, held the body of her husband. She was so worried about her husband.

Josep looked at his son. His son is growing up well. A tall body with a handsome face reminded Josep of his youth. The jaw that was overgrown with fine fur was exactly the same as her.

Josep never thought her son would be in front of her. Still fresh in his memory, how he evicted his wife and child after divorcing his wife. He thought his wife and son would never return before him. But now his son is standing right in front of him.

“It looks like you were so surprised once.” The man commonly called Liam smiled. Slowly he sat his body on the sofa while looking at the man who was his biological father. “What are you thinking? What are you thinking if I'm not going to be in front of you? Or will never dare to stand in front of you?” Liam smiled. Of course the smile contained a sneer at the man who had abandoned him.  

Liam heard the story from his mother. How the father who was so hearty to throw away his mother after divorcing her mother. His father remarried to a woman who was a waiter at a restaurant owned by both of them. The restaurant was built with money from his mother. Her mother had to leave her to an orphanage because she did not have enough money to return to Italy. Five years later, her mother picked her back up.

“What do you want to come here?” Bela, people used to call Sabela Smith. Starting from babu to become a hostess in the Smith family.

“Gosh, is meeting my papa something that is not allowed?” Liam smiled. It was funny with the woman in front of him.

Bela still looked at Liam suspiciously. She was sure that her husband's son did not come because he wanted to meet her husband.

Liam continued to comment on the smile on his face. He did not show his hatred at all.

“Where have you been staying?” As a father, there was still a sense in his heart of wanting to know how far his son had grown.

“We stay in Italy. Back to hometown.” Since her mother picked her up from the orphanage, Liam has lived in Italy. With her mother, Liam grew up well. My mom always gave her the best.

“So now your mama is in Italy?” Josep's voice was very curious.

Bela was so surprised when her husband asked her ex-wife. There was jealousy pouring into his heart.

“Mama died a month ago.” Liam says the whereabouts of his mother.

A month ago, her mother died. Liam is still grieving. He lost someone he loved so much. The pain is still felt until now. Because in the end, he was completely alone. Just like when he was five.

Before his death, his mother allowed him to fly to Indonesia. Liam has cut ties with everything in Indonesia. Including Loveta, the little girl who becomes his first love. Her mother doesn't want her father to interfere with their lives anymore. For years, Liam followed his mother. Appreciate the pain his mother felt. Now that his mother allowed him to return to Indonesia. Of course the opportunity was used as best as possible.

Josep was surprised. His ex-wife left this world first. There was pain in his heart. He did not apologize, but his ex-wife had already died.  

“This.” Liam put the file on the table.

Josep turned his eyes to the file. He was confused when he saw the file given by his son.

“What is this?” While retrieving the file, Josep asked.

Josep rounded his eyes. He immediately opened the file. How surprised to find out if the contents of the file is a transfer of ownership of his restaurant.

Bela was no less surprised. Ever since Liam came, he had been convinced that the boy had not come just to visit his father. However, there was a certain intent that was the reason for his arrival.

“What the fuck is this?” Josep slammed the file. She was so upset that she felt that Liam was so presumptuous of her.

“Taking my rights.” Liam still looked calm. When his father was angry, he was not provoked at all.

“What rights do you want to take the restaurant I have managed for many years?” Josep looked at his son. Before, there was a longing in his heart. However, instead the child presumptuously wanted to ask for a restaurant.

Liam simply responded with a smile. “A farmer without land, will never be his owner even if he produces a lot of rice. Just like you developed a restaurant with my mama's funds. Still you will not be called by the owner.”

Josep speechless. His memory goes back to the first time he built a restaurant business. At that time he came to Indonesia to work in a company. When the company closed, Josep did not return to Italy. He and Mama Liam decided to build a business. Armed with his wife's money, he built an Italian restaurant. His wife was the chef there. All menus are created by the wife. The restaurant began to grow. People love their restaurant menu.

The restaurant began to grow. From only the two of them who built the business, to finally be able to recruit employees. While his wife was pregnant, Josep took care of the restaurant. Over the years, the restaurant has grown with various branches.

Unfortunately, Josep was tempted by the waiter at the restaurant. He eventually divorced his wife and took over all the business. Not a penny was given to his wife.

If examined again, it is true that this restaurant is on the funds of his ex-wife. He just manages.

“I, will not be in a hurry. You can think about it first. After that you can leave the restaurant to me.” Liam thinks maybe his dad needs time.

“No need time. This restaurant will never switch to anyone.” Bela answered Liam's words. She was not willing if the restaurant built by her husband was taken for granted.

Liam saw Bela. The woman who destroyed her mother and father's household. His mother had to struggle. Of course he won't let it go.

“Please do whatever it takes to maintain that restaurant, but I will try to snatch it.” Liam felt that the restaurant belonged to his mother. So he deserves to get the restaurant back.

Bela looked in annoyance at Liam. He won't let that happen.

“Then I excuse you first.” Liam doesn't want to linger. He chose to leave immediately. Not arguing anymore.

Bela saw Liam who just left. When her husband's son left, she turned her eyes to her husband.

“Pa, do something. Don't let your ex-wife's son take the restaurant.” Bela shook her husband's body.

Josep was silent. He himself was confused. What he should do.

“We consult this with a lawyer first.” Josep should ask for a lawyer's opinion. So of course he couldn't be rash to do anything.
