I want you to kill me
Selena and Zeno both breathed a sigh of relief after successfully defeating the lion beast that belonged to no one.
"Hmm, it turns out that you guys managed to defeat my Beast huh?"
But, when he had defeated the lion beast, there was a voice that echoed. The voice of a very old man yet so loud, even Zeno and Selena had closed both ears.
An old man, with his body floating out from behind the wall, had a white beard so long that it touched the ground, accompanied by a stick that became the old man's grip.
But strangely, the old man seemed to have spewed out a mouthful of blood, it was clear that at the tip of the old man's lips was flowing fresh blood as if he had been attacked by a deep wound.
Indeed, the man mutilated a mouthful of blood because his beast had died, it was a natural thing to happen to someone who had a beast.
"I thought that the beast had a dead master." Inner Zeno.
"I'm sorry, but that's the truth, your beast is bothering us who's just looking through these ruins." Zeno said casually.
"It's not my beasts that bother me, but you're the ones who enter these ruins carelessly." Said the old man so casually as well, and there was no obvious anger after his beast was killed.
"Is that so? Forgive me for being presumptuous, but are you spirit too?" Zeno asked who looked at the man's eyes that looked like he didn't want to fight Zeno and Selena.
"No, I'm an ordinary human like you, but I'm the one who guarded these ruins for hundreds of years until it's still standing today."
"Wait a minute, don't tell me you're a member of the Zanfal family." Zeno said as if he could not believe that in front of him was one of the most arrogant members of the Zanfal family. Zeno wanted to find out, was the middle-aged man before him still so arrogant?
"Yes, I am one of the members of the Zanfal family, and I am the one who killed my own family." Said the old man.
Zeno and Selena again do not believe, it turns out that the little boy who committed mass murder to the Zanfal family is one of their family members. Plus Zeno's wish was so fulfilled that he wanted to meet the little boy who had now become the old man before him.
"Now, what's your purpose here? Boast about yourself? I really hate arrogant people!"
"No-no, I'm just here to ask anyone who's a mystery in these ruins for me to have an element." Selena shakes her head.
The old man sighed, according to him, there were still fools who insisted on getting the element, even though the person had no element. "Didn't you know? If you don't have an element, you don't have an element."
Zeno turned his face away because it was not the answer the old man should have given Selena, that answer would only make someone who had no element feel hopeless.
"I've heard many such answers from beasts, spirits or the living ancients, and I'm really fed up. Someday I'll prove that I'm gonna have an elemental." Selena said with a sour face after learning that the old man before her was apparently unable to help herself to get the element.
"That's the absolute rule of the gods, except…." Said the old man looking at Zeno, he knew very well that Zeno was a special young man. And somehow he also felt that Zeno could most likely awaken an element that he did not possess.
"Except what?" Selena asked so curiously.
"Now go, there is nothing special in these ruins. Luck is on your side, because usually, the people who come here will encounter hundreds of very strong and arrogant Zanfal spirits, even many of them can't return." Keep the old man.
Zeno lowered his head his face looked sad because there was nothing special here, from the beginning he had actually thought that in these ruins there was nothing. But previously he had little hope that here was lightning energy that could possibly awaken his lightning element.
"Come on Selena, we're out of here." Zeno said turning around with a gloomy face, in contrast to Selena who just kept a happy face.
"Wait a minute!" Shouted the man calling for Zeno and Selena.
Zeno slightly turned his head back in response to the old man's shout. "What's wrong?" That was the question that Zeno asked.
"I only have one request."
"What's that?" Ask Selena.
"I want you to kill me!"
The man's words suddenly made Zeno and Selana startled, Zeno even put on a confused face, because the article, many people who want to have a long life, even eternal life, is, but unlike this grandfather, he wanted to be killed.
"What do you mean, old man? How can I kill an innocent like you?" Zeno asked in a high tone.
"I'm just tired of living, after all my beast is dead, what can I do?"
"If you don't want to, then I will force." The old man attacked Zeno with the intention of Zeno and Selena attacking back.
Zeno and Selena dodged a bolt of lightning coming out from the old man's index finger, they became confused as to what the old man meant, wanting to be killed but he instead attacked.
Zeno did not get out of thought with the behavior of the old man, some time he understood that the old man deliberately attacked for Zeno to strike back, so sure Zeno would be very upset and would kill him.
"Old man realize, how could you want me to kill you? Is suicide better?" Zeno continued to avoid the brutal attacks of the old man.
"I see that in your hearts you have humble souls, so I want to die under a person who does not have an arrogant attitude." Said the man while busily attacking Zeno as well as Selena.
Zeno was very unable to counterattack the old geezer, as the old geezer did not have any significant problems that made him want to attack.
Unlike Zeno, Selena instead ran forward and attacked the old man, no matter the old man had a problem or not, the most important thing was that he did not want to get out of this ruins there were still obstacles, so inevitably he had to kill the old man.
"I was wrong to think, even though you don't seem to have elementals, but at least you have very agile abilities. Believe me, if you continue to live, in the future you will become formidable and defeat other great Elementalists." Kara the old man praised Selena.
