The thoughts that approached Bonita could not make him fall asleep even though he tried to close his eyes. When she finally opened her eyes because her eyes felt so sore, Velica was already asleep.
He sighed furiously and picked up the phone lying nearby, but there was not a single word from Benjamin to make the wound in his heart even more gaping and start to feel stifling. Now, the various bad feelings that raged in his heart turned into waves that rolled around without being able to be dammed.
'He must be busy, right? Busy fuck.' Thought desperate.
His chest throbbed pain as those words appeared. He was able to imagine what Benjamin and the model named Zayna were doing as if he was actually looking at it in plain sight. Something that even Benjamin and he had not done in four years of being in a relationship. However, she is a mature woman. He knows very well what happens if a pair of humans are making love.
'Awake, Boo! You should have let her go if it was true that she cheated on you! Steady as your father!' Hardened his weak heart.
The burden that comes to him increases. The stone that settles for some time since when began to squeeze the wholeness of his heart. The trust he seeks to give to a man is extinct simply because there is a woman who is willing to be invited to cheat.
'Who should I blame? Bee for cheating on me or Zayna for cheating on me? Or ... I for never giving Bee the chance to make love to me?'
Bonita's mind was still trying to reject the fact that Benjamin betrayed her, but her heart was too sick to imagine how much trust placed in her lover had just crumbled. It took him years to be able to leave such trust in a man and there were only regrets left to him at the moment.
His mother's face was reflected in both of his eyes. The woman who gave birth to him went with another man. Bonita still remembered the time when she called the woman to stay, but she ignored him and chose to go with the jerk man whose name had even been forgotten from memory.
Bonita's eyes were forced shut as his mind grew riled up. He wants all those bad thoughts to go away. However, stay awake and unpretentious like the drumbeat of war.
The alarm from the phone made Bonita open her eyes. He turned off the alarm and went to the sink to wash his face. When she returned, Velica was still asleep.
He wrote a message on a piece of paper and placed it under Velica's phone, then took her bag and a series of keys before leaving the room. His feet quickly headed for the car to return to the hotel where Benjamin was staying. He parked the car in front of the restaurant where he had dinner with Velica yesterday and noticed everyone passing by in front of the hotel across the street.
It was still early in the morning when Bonita saw a secluded door in a corner of the hotel that she had not noticed last night. Some people who looked like cleaning staff went in and out in a hurry. The door was not guarded by anyone and seemed to be safe enough to enter.
Bonita got out of the car and walked twenty meters to the left before crossing. He followed the steps of the two women who led to the hotel and sneaked into the secluded door. His heart skipped a beat in rhythm with the clattering of his footsteps down the deserted hotel hallway.
'Now what am I supposed to do? I don't even know where their room is. Should I just go back to the car?'
Just as Bonita was thinking like that, she arrived in front of an elevator. His finger originally pressed the number four button and entered the elevator whose door immediately opened. He intended to look around the hotel contents and would leave if there was no sign of Benjamin or Zayna.
The elevator doors closed and opened again after arriving at the fourth floor. A formally dressed man gave her a morning greeting as he passed by. Bonita returned the greeting awkwardly and moved away worried about being recognized as an intruder.
"Why didn't I ask her where Zayna's room was? Maybe he knows." Hiss Bonita when she realized her forgetfulness.
Bonita clucked in annoyance to lament how foolish he was as he walked through the hallway with many doors on both sides. On that door were various numbers in sequence. He's sure there's Benjamin and Zayna in one of those rooms. I don't know what room number.
Bonita let out a loud sigh as she felt her efforts were in vain and turned towards the arrival just a moment ago. Instead of using the elevator, he descended using the emergency stairs to the third floor. He was just about to continue descending to the second floor when he heard the voice of the man he recognized. His steps came to a halt to listen to the man's voice carefully. The man's voice was light and soft in his ears.
"News about us must be confirmed." The man was filled with an urgent tone of demands.
Bonita was sure it was Benjamin's voice. He peeked out by shifting his body slightly towards the elevator being located. Exact guess. Benjamin is standing in front of an elevator with a graceful and sexy woman that Bonita knows through a photograph called Zayna. Zayna was hugging Benjamin's arm and leaning her head on Benjamin's shoulder with a spoiled look as if Benjamin belonged to her. The sight Bonita saw suddenly looked disgusting.
'They really did. They really fuck, don't they?' Thought Bonita with a growing hatred. Anger snatched through his pulse all over his body to make him tense and silent to find what sentence is best suited to condemn the two perpetrators of cheating.
Just as Bonita was about to open her voice to reprimand the two, they entered the elevator. He quickly steps up to them and meets Benjamin when the elevator door is almost perfectly closed.
Benjamin takes Zayna's embrace off his arm when he realizes Bonita's whereabouts, just as Bonita runs down the makeshift stairs with a broken heart without being able to say anything. The intention to channel anger at Benjamin and Zayna evaporated as Bonita realized the guilty look in Benjamin's eyes as if the guilty look was a confession of his actions.
"Boo!" Shouted Benjamin while cramming himself out of the elevator that was forced open suddenly. Damn for him because the elevator doors open very slowly. "Wait!"
"That's it. He won't listen to you." Said Zayna relaxed with her hands reaching for Benjamin's arm to be hugged again by him.
Benjamin shook Zayna's hand. He ran after Bonita. Unfortunately Bonita's move was too fast to catch up.
Bonita no longer bothered to use which door. The pain in his heart made him unable to think clearly. His steps approached the main door and came out without turning his head, with the echo of Benjamin's voice calling out his name over and over again.
The feeling of Bonita who was originally in doubt, now settled itself. He'll leave Benjamin alone and live forever. The only thing imprinted on his soul since many years ago, which had been forgotten for four years, was now back to him.
His reason?
Because if others intend to leave, then others must let go. Like the relationship that happened to his parents.
