Chapter 24: The Next City

After leaving the desert area, our train was finally able to return down the lush forest, I sat in the front of the driver while Lena and Sofia were still asleep in the back.

They both had trouble getting up in the morning.

I took an apple out of my bag and put it in my mouth.

"Snow White, you want an apple?"

Snow white in his animal form said.

"I'm full enough to eat grass, if I can I want to keep it later."

"Of course, we have a lot of apples here" I replied lightly.

"Well, Leona, aren't you curious about my previous life?"

I smiled gently.

"I'm curious, but I don't want to force you to talk about it, everyone has secrets that sometimes can't be told to others."

"Leona."

"Whenever you want to talk about it, I'll be willing to hear it. I'd rather see Snow White become human again."

Silence felt between the two of us until Snow White opened her mouth.

"I am not a man, but a fairy."

"God, you mean Elf? But your ears don't look like them."

"That's because I hid it. In fact the witch who cursed me was not evil but I was evil."

I'm seeing.

"I used to think each race was inferior to an elf, and said they were more like horses that had to work their whole lives, when I started making human slaves a witch came to see me and bewitched me like this, I was so sorry."

"Do you know the witch?' I asked back.

"Because it's been a long time since I can't remember it, maybe he's dead."

Snow White stopped her footsteps.

"From now on we'll call you by your name, in the city I'll turn you into the ready."

While Sofia and Lena were still sleeping, I secretly replaced our horse with a similar colored ordinary horse and then used my magic to remove the curse.

In an instant the real figure of Lifa was seen.

That made it look like the horse had been lost and replaced by taper ears.

"Woyah, your face is so pretty Lifa."

"You're praising Leona too much, I'm still like before."

Lena and Sofia peeked out from inside the car.

"Have we arrived?" ask Lena.

"You should've woken up from earlier" I said cynically.

"Sorry, I drank too much last night."

Sofia pointed towards Lifa.

"Any Snow White?"

"Good morning."

"Heeh," Lena was surprised, her reaction was so late.

"From now on her name is Lifa. Don't get me wrong."

Both smiled kindly.

"I'd rather Lifa be like this."

"I am too."

We went back on our way, this city had previously been a place of war between the demon lord's army and the royal knights but it seemed like they won the war until this city had recovered.

Even so, not everything.

I saw several small children as well as adults sitting in dirty alleys with their shabby clothes.

"Leona?" call Lena to notice.

"If humanity wins the war, the war is still the war, there is nothing good about it."

Lena could only nod her head at my statement.

It would have been better if we helped a little because of that, we decided to stay a few days here.
