Meet Me At Midnight's

Meet Me At Midnight's
That Woman

Brian had just returned from his meeting outside the office. It just so happened that his return hour was lunchtime and many employees were gathering to talk about what they wanted to eat. Accompanied by Mr. Liam, Brian passed by his employees with a smile.

"So we'll go back to SevenSix?" ask a man who is gathering and waiting for the elevator to open. Brian overheard their conversation.

"Are you sure you want to go there? The entry is quite good." said one of those who sounded considering the cost.

"Just want to see it there. It's payday."

"Denger - a denger who likes to play there is a conglomerate child." one of the others chimed in.

"Well, we're just gonna sit back and drink that mineral water back." Then they laughed out loud when they heard a joke.

Brian could only smile. He just wants to spend time with his friends. But he was sure, it was no longer possible. Elevator door opens. Brian immediately entered the elevator with Mr. Liam.

Bella enters Brian's office as soon as Brian reaches his office. He brought some files that Brian had to examine first.

"It's an application for advertising on television and it's an application to sponsor a charity event in a city park next month. You read it carefully, Brian" Bella explained.

"Yes, Brother."

"Oh yeah." Bella was still standing and wanted to talk to her sister.

"When did Edith go home? If you have time you tell him to play at home." said Bella. Brian looked at her confusedly.

"For what? Why would Edith go home?"

"You don't want to get married soon?" ask Bella.

"Oh my goodness, brother. Getting married right now is not my priority. I still want to work first." replied Brian chuckling.

"Why don't you get married first?" Brian asked Bella.

"Yes, not really. Just make sure you have a girlfriend. Don't think too much about your past. That's just my door." replied Bella.

"Don't worry, Brother. When it's time I'll definitely date. Right now I want to concentrate on working first. Okay, Sis?"

"Okay." Bella leaves Brian's office.

Brian leaned his head against the chair and closed his eyes.

Is Gisel still in Borneo? How to find it in such a big Kalimantan?

During this time Brian suspected that Gisel was still living in Kalimantan with his family. No word and no idea where to communicate to make Brian really lose contact with Gisel.

Byurs!

Gisel's face was doused with a glass of water by a beautiful woman in front of him. Gisel doesn't know who it is. But for sure this is a risk from his work.

Calmly, Gisel wiped his face with a tissue. His clothes are wet. And Gisel looked at the face of the beautiful woman in front of him with a sharp look.

"What's this?"

"You know Farshall already has a girlfriend?" ask the beautiful woman who turned out to be Farshall's lover. Gisel snorted in annoyance.

"Yes, know. Then?"

"Keep why can you still tease someone else's boyfriend? Who do you think Farshall is? Cheap lady!" The woman was about to slap Gisel in the face but Gisel quickly parried the thin woman's hand.

"You know what Farshall is like? A man who needs to be accompanied by his girlfriend but his girlfriend is always busy working. And I'm not flirting with your girlfriend. Your girlfriend first who likes to come to the club and call me. If I'm a cheap woman, sorry, my job is that. But I didn't snatch or make your girlfriend fall in love with me!" gisel said with a sharp look at the beautiful woman.

"What's? Not snatching my girlfriend?"

"Don't be too busy with your work and make time for your girlfriend. If I snatch, I wouldn't suggest this. Do you have any evidence that I texted or called your girlfriend?" Gisel smiled cynically at the woman's confusion.

"If not, don't assume I'm flirting let alone snatch your girlfriend." Gisel took off the beautiful woman's hand slowly. He no longer wanted to sit while enjoying the afternoon breeze in the open cafe. The mood's falling apart. He left that place leaving the beautiful woman stiff-necked.

Edith who had just walked out of the cafe and saw the crowd, was surprised to see her co-worker standing in the crowd.

"Maureen!" call Edith. Edith who saw Maureen speechless immediately pulled him out of the crowd.

"Maureen! You why? Why are you so quiet there?" ask Edith to worry. Maureen looked at Edith and her heart felt uneasy.

"I've just met a woman that Farshall met a lot" Maureen said.

"Who?"

"I don't know his name. But I've seen his face. She's the comfort lady at the night club."

"Then? Let's go after him!" Edith looked furious and eager to grab the woman. But Maureen held Edith's hand.

"Maureen! Why are you talking like that?" Edith grew increasingly anxious to see the weakness of Maureen's heart.

"I don't have time for Farshall. I always said I was busy. I never came to the restaurant we used to go to when Farshall was waiting for me." Maureen shed her tears. Now he feels sorry for wasting his relationship with Farshall.

"You sure you're talking like that? Not because of that woman's fault?" ask Edith. Maureen nodded.

"I don't have any evidence that the woman was flirting through messages or phone calls. I just assumed last night that she came home from somewhere and that perfume was the perfume that the woman used to wear." Maureen said sadly. Edith hugged Maureen hoping that her heart would be relieved to tell her of her sadness.

"It's okay, Maureen. Later you can ask again pafa Farshall. If that's true, you have to reduce the frequency of your work." suggested Edith. Maureen just nodded. Then they left that place.

*****

Brian just got out of his office. Before coming, Edith had called Mr. Liam first that today she would come again and wait for Brian to come out of the office.

After seeing Edith from a distance, Liam said goodbye and Brian nodded.

"Tara... Ice lattes. Special delivery from Edith Joana. Please take this, sir!" edith smiled at Brian's face. Brian smiled at his best friend.

"Thank you's. Miss." Brian replied that he didn't want to ruin Edith's good mood. Brian sipped his latten and walked slowly down the street in his office.

"This time I just came, really. Seriously. I didn't eat across the street" Edith said.

"If so, let's eat. Looks like you're hungry" said Brian who was greeted with Edith's cheer.

"really? You want to eat there again? Okay, let's go! I'll accompany you wherever you want to eat." Edith's cheerful behavior makes Brian feel always entertained.

"OK, okay. We're having soto tonight. Yesterday it was satay."

Brian and Edith took the car across the street and had dinner as they always did when they were in college.

While ordering food and waiting for his order to come, Brian was curious and wanted to ask Edith something.

"There's something I want to ask" Brian told Edith.

"Just ask me what?" Edith sipped the drink she had bought.

"You know SevenSix?" ask Brian plainly.

Edith coughed and almost spouted out her drink which she had just drank.

"Why ask that?" ask Edith.

"I just want to know. There was an employee who discussed SevenSix. I don't know. I thought you knew." said Brian.

"That's the name of the nightclub." replied Edith. Brian raised his eyebrows.

"Evening clubs? World glitter?"

Edith nodded.q

"Yes. Those who come there are usually children who do not know where the money will be thrown. Or a man who wonders what's in there. All I know is, there's a lady entertainer who works like an office guy. There's a contract too." Edith explained.

"Kok you know a lot?"

"Yes, I would have designed some dresses for kids. They told me so I knew. Who wants to go there?" ask Edith.

"I heard my employees talking to the place after work" replied Brian Cuek. Then their soto orders came. Brian stirred up the soto sauce and poured it onto the rice plate.

"Let's talk about SevenSix. My coworker had just met the comfort woman who works at SevenSix." Edith wrote in her soto.

"Oh yeah. Continues to?"

"My friend's boyfriend came to the club and was served by the comfort women there. My friend was furious and scolded the woman. I'm actually furious about finding a woman like that. Want to be called the guy's girlfriend snatch can not be called that, because he was there to work."

"Yes if I think it depends on each person. I knew that a club like that must be a comfort woman. That woman is not wrong because she works. After the client came out, they had no contact at all. The professionals are not?" Brian responds to Edith's story.

"Yes, there's nothing to blame either. I also don't want to interfere too much, but if I were my friend, I would leave my boyfriend instead of always eating heart to have a girlfriend who likes 'shopping'." Edith began to feel anxious when she recalled Maureen who was crying bitterly.

"Yes, look for the faithful." Brian laughed and ate his soto.

"Unfortunately I haven't found."

Brian did not respond too much to Edith's last words because it was too misinterpreted and made Edith feel given hope by Brian.

"Honestly, I was wondering what kind of woman you like. I don't want to cover up the truth anymore. I'm sure you know that I've been putting feelings on you all this time" Edith said without looking at Brian.

Brian was silent at Edith's words but he did not know how to respond to Edith's words this time.
