Chapter 9. Love is Rain

Never break love when it rains, because when tomorrow you will be heartbroken, every time it rains, you will be remembered by the painful event.

Keenan walked out of the cafe in a hasty way. Upon awakening from her daydream Beverly ran after Keenan.

Bie holds Keenan's wrist to keep him from getting into the car.

"Keen, I'm sorry. I had to do this."

"Do you love me?" ask Keen slowly.

"There's no need for you to ask that, Keen. I love you so much."

"But I doubt. If you love me, it won't be easy for you to let me go. What is the reason you accept my love? Poor fellow? Or just trying? Or even you have planned all of this. You purposely accepted my love just to dump me. You want to prove that you can break my heart. Are you satisfied now?"

"Keen, there's no intention of me toying with your feelings. I accept your love, because I have the same feelings as you. But I can't sacrifice my friendship for love."

"You managed to get me hurt inside. You've made a gaping wound wide inside here." Keenan pointed at his chest. "The girl I thought was perfect is now casually sticking wounds. I regard you as a heartless human being who could leave me only for the sake of your best friend. You who I was so proud of, now hurt me as if I had no feelings.Now let me send my thanks to you for teaching me what it feels like to love and be dumped at the same time. Keenan removed Bie's handrails and got into the car. The sky that had been dark had sent down its rain to the earth.

When the sky decided to let go of the drizzle, the rain asked to take shelter under a pair of eyes. "The sun needs to tell you to let go of your sadness" said a raindrop. Then, it seeped past my cheek.

Beverly stepped her feet slowly through the rain. No matter the body that has been drenched because of rain. It keeps walking. Many pairs of eyes looked at Bie with pity.

I wanted to walk in the rain so that no one would know if I was crying. Muffling all this sadness that I felt was so difficult and really painful. I wanted to scream but my voice was blocked. I really just want to express all the sadness I feel right now. Under the rain that befriended millions of specks of rain, I want to thank you for the rain that has camouflaged my tears. Until no one knew I was crying right now.

The next day, Dimas is astonished to see Keenan coming alone without Beverly. He approached Keenan.

"Where, Bie. Why are you alone?" ask Dimas.

"Gue was neither the driver nor the maid. How do I know where that girl went?!" Keenan answered ketus, making Dimas suspicious.

"Lo marahan with Bie?" ask Dimas.

"Gue wants to learn. Can stay with me" said Keen to divert Dimas's questions.

"If you can't or don't want to pick up Bie, you should talk. Let me pick it up." Dimas walked away from Keenan.

The lesson begins soon. Catherine ran to class. Seeing Catherine who had also come alone, made Dimas even more agitated.

Where's Bie. Why hasn't he come yet. The girl never came too late.

After the lesson was over, Dimas went to Catherine.

"Why is Bie absent. He doesn't usually skip."

"Let me call her phone."

Beverly currently has a cell phone that Dimas gave her when she was last year.

Catherine tries to call Bie's cell phone but is inactive. He called Mother's phone.

"Bie's sick. Yesterday came home rain. You know that Bie is very sensitive to rain water."

"Yes, Mother. I'll go home to school, Dimas and Keenan will stop by. Thank you, Mother."

"Just like Catherine." The cell phone connection was decided by Catherine.

"So Bie is sick," murmured Dimas.

"Yes, that kid is stubborn sometimes. He knew his body could not be in the rain. It's still raining." Catherine grumbled alone.

"Keen, didn't Bie come home yesterday afternoon with Lo. Why is it raining?" ask Catherine.

"Gue doesn't know. We're not leaving."

Hearing Keenan's reply, Dimas looked at himself sharply.

"Bie is very sensitive to rain. He could have a fever a week."

"Later after school we stopped by the parlor first. Keen, Lo's coming, right?"

"I'm sorry I can't. School home there's a need."

"Then it's just the two of us, Dim."

"okay."

Back at school, Dimas and Catherine headed straight to the orphanage. Keenan followed his car Dimas.

Catherine's car was abandoned at the school. Catherine had asked her driver to pick her up.

As Dimas and Catherine get out of the car, Dimas sees Keenan's car from a distance.

Dimas and Catherine went into the room after asking Mother for permission, They saw that Bie was sleeping in a blanket.

Catherine held Bie's forehead. He can feel his high body temperature.

Beverly opened her eyes feeling a hand holding her forehead.

"Cath ..." said Bie softly when he saw Catherine.

"You're stubborn sometimes, stubborn. I know the body can't compromise with rain but it's still raining." Beverly simply smiled at Catherine's scolding.

"We're going to the clinic or the hospital" Dimas said.

"No need, Dim. It will also heal."

"Gue doesn't want to know. Cath, you help Beverly get changed. If Bie doesn't want to, we just go home and we'll never consider him a friend again."

Dimas came out of the room, he was waiting outside. Fifteen minutes Bie and Cath finished grooming. After saying goodbye to Mother, the three of them came out of the orphanage to Dimas' car.

When going to get into the car, Bie saw Keenan's car in the distance.

I'm sorry,Keen. We are like two strangers. And I know you must hate me now. But I'm glad you still want to see me from a distance.
