A medium-sized cafe located on the outskirts of South Jakarta looks quite crowded this afternoon.
The shades of dark brown wood combined with the cream color that dominates the cafe interior greeted Felix's eyes as the tall young man pushed the cafe door and walked in. A male employee standing behind the counter almost greeted him with a special greeting before finally recognizing Felix as one of the employees working there. Yes, this cafe is none other than the cafe where Felix works as a barista.
The young cashier guard smiled at him, to which Felix replied with a friendly smile. Felix then circulated a sweeping look throughout the cafe, looking for something. A little difficult because of the large number of visitors, Felix's gaze finally fell on the three young men who were sitting at the corner table, near the window. Then Felix immediately knit a step towards the table, followed by Steven who did come with him.
“Oh, guys, the Felix is coming.”
Not to mention Felix arrived at the table, Henry who was one of the three young men had already first noticed his arrival and immediately waved at him. The other two young men who had indeed sat back to Felix immediately turned to face him, welcoming Felix with a wide smile.
“Hey, how are you?” one of the young men wearing a striped black blazer over a white shirt and a gray tie, as well as his neatly combed hair, immediately got up from his seat and hugged Felix briefly.
“Good news. How are you, Paul?” Felix asked back and sat down next to the man he called Paul.
“I'm good too. It feels like a long time ago I didn't see you,” Paul said.
“Iya true. Lately I rarely see you in the cafe,” added the other young man. Felix looked towards the young man. The young man appeared to be wearing a cream-colored shirt, an ID card reading ‘dr. Mark Anderson’ was lying in front of him on the table. Just now Felix wanted to respond to Mark's words, suddenly Henry immediately spoke.
“Felix, what's with your hand?” Henry who had noticed Felix's hand asked while pointing towards his bandaged hand. Henry's question just now made Mark and Paul look at his hand. Felix himself looked down at the bandage wrapped around his hand, then smiled faintly.
“My hand is splashed with hot water.”
“Kok can?” ask Paul in surprise.
“Be careful dong,” said Mark while staring at the worried Felix.
Instead of feeling shocked and worried like his two friends, Henry responded casually. “Yes, no wonder anyway, considering now Felix is a good housewife.”
“Not so, it's because I–”
“Shortly, briefly. What did you say? Household father?” in contrast to Henry and Steven, Mark immediately asked with a shocked look clearly printed on his face, the same expression was clearly drawn on Paul's face. No wonder the two of them were shocked, because they both did not know that Felix was married. Only two of his four friends knew about it. Henry is told by Felix himself, and Steven who just visited his house and met directly with his wife and child.
“Oh, I forgot that you guys haven't been told,” Henry said while scratching his head which is actually not itchy at all. In the next instant, Henry stood up straight from his chair and walked towards Felix. He embraced his best friend.
“Guys, our friend Felix Setiawan, twenty-six years old, is married and his wife is very beautiful,” Henry raised a thumbs up as a complement to his last description.
“You're married?” paul did not believe.
“Alah already have a baby too. Baby boy, three months old and very funny,” said Steven casually while eating the fries served in the middle of the table.
“B-infant?!” this time Mark asked. His mouth was wide open, too incredulous. How he's not surprised. He had been friends with Felix for a long time, and he almost never saw Felix hanging out or touching women, but suddenly now he was married and had a baby anyway. It's true Felix can hide all that.
Felix glanced at Henry and Steven with an annoyed look. Had it not been for the glare demanding an answer directed by Paul and Mark at him, perhaps Felix would have stood up and kicked Henry and Steven out of the cafe. It felt like he wanted to stuff their big mouth with a cup of hot espresso so as not to talk too much.
Felix instead of wanting to keep his marriage secret from Paul and Mark, he just has not had time and has not found the right time to tell them. And now that Henry and Steven are playing the story, Felix is confused about how to explain it.
Felix akhinrya sighed softly. “Yes, I'm married. A few weeks ago.”
“Wah, crazy anyway,” Paul directly leaned his back on the chair.
Felix took a sip of the latte that had just been placed by a servant in front of him. “I didn't invite the others either, not just the two of you. Her wedding was sudden.”
“What is married by accident?” chirps Mark.
Felix almost choked on hearing Mark's words. “B-not.”
“Then?” paul asked now. The others also joined close positions and waited for Felix to explain clearly about his sudden statement, because honestly none of them knew what was the reason Felix got married so suddenly like this.
“We're matched. The wedding was sudden, the party was only held simple and only invited close family only.” Felix is finally.
“Ohhh, I deserve not to know if you have a wife,” Paul added.
“Yes right, I don't feel familiar with your wife's face either. Though I know all your ex-girlfriends,” said Henry.
“Kakak has met directly with sister Felix's wife?” ask Steven.
“Iya, already. I've also talked a lot with him.”
“I saw it too, but didn't chat much. And brother Henry was right, sister Felix's wife is very beautiful.”
“Really?” paul's eyes widened. “Hey, I also want to meet your wife.”
“Wait a minute,” greeting Mark mediate the debate already or have not met Felix's wife. The handsome face of the man seemed to be thinking for a moment, with a thin furrowed forehead. “If you just got married a few weeks ago, and this marriage is not married by accident, then why do you have a baby?”
“Wah, wow, what chat did I miss?”
Another voice from the back interrupted the attention of the ten-numbered table dwellers. The five men sitting around the table turned to the source of the voice, and found a young man taking off his coat while throwing a big smile.
“Hey, Daniel!”
“Wah, wow, Mr Daniel, why just came at this hour?” Paul embraces the young man named Daniel exactly as he welcomed Felix earlier.
“Sorry, I just finished a meeting,” the monolid-eyed youth smiled as he loosened the black tie he wore. Daniel's gaze circled around on his friends, and his eyes widened slightly as he whistled with Felix.
“Oh, hi, Felix,” said Daniel with a faint smile, which Felix replied with a soft nod and the same thin smile.
“Hey,” Daniel turned his gaze on Mark who had just called while elbowing his arm. “You know, our friend Felix is married. And before you came, we were talking about the wedding.”
“Talking about Felix's wedding? Why?” daniel asked while looking at Mark flat.
“Wait first. Wait, why is your expression so flat? Don't tell me you already know about Felix.”'s wedding
Daniel grabs Mark's espresso in front of him. He took a sip of the coffee and the thick bitter taste was immediately felt in his taste buds. Daniel took a deep breath, inhaling the oxygen and aroma of the coffee mixed in.
“Iya, I already know,” Daniel replied with a smile.
