The clock is showing at six in the afternoon. Currently Felix, Jane and Jane's parents are sitting around the dining table. Chicken soup and mushroom sauteed in front of them, still steaming and creating a warm atmosphere in the dining room of this Felix and Jane residence. For a long time they were just busy chewing the food served, until Papa started a conversation.
“We thought you were sick, but it turns out you look very healthy,” Papa said as he glanced at Felix.
Papa's words caused a smile on Mama's face, as well as making a red tinge appear on both cheeks Jane. The girl understood exactly where her papa was going. No wonder his papa thought all kinds, considering when they arrived Felix was not wearing his clothes.
Nevertheless, it seems Felix did not catch the intention behind Papa's words earlier. He looked confused and looked at Papa with a questioning look.
“I-Yes?” felix said softly with a face that did not understand.
Surprisingly, it actually makes both parents Jane increasingly develop a meaningful smile. I heard Papa beating slowly.
“Sorry we came at an inopportune time,” Papa said, still smiling.
“E-eh? No really, Pa,” Felix immediately denied Papa's remarks, he still does not seem to understand which direction this ongoing conversation is going.
“Why are you ashamed of that, son? You should have just said that you guys were–”
“Why did Papa and Mama suddenly come here?” said Jane immediately cut off her papa speech, while turning the attention of all the inhabitants of the dining table towards her.
Papa and Mama stopped their meal while Jane smiled awkwardly at her parents. A wrinkle is created on Mama's forehead, although it does not dampen her youthful parachute.
“Of course we came here because we were worried about Felix and Aiden,”, said Mama who was directly approved by Papa.
“Iya, you said Felix and Aiden were sick, ” Papa added while again smiling meaningfully. A smile was forced to expand on Jane's face, followed by her hand that immediately patted her own smooth forehead.
“Oh yes, I forgot to tell Papa.” Said Jane while grinning wide. Papa sneered at the grin depicted on Jane's face.
“So Felix actually hurts what? Or do you lie so you don't need to join the meeting this morning?” accuse Papa. Jane straightened her eyes.
“No, Pa. Where might I lie to miss an important meeting,”, Jane said. “After all, look at this,” Jane took out the hand of Felix sitting next to her, she then brandished the palm of the young man wrapped around the bandage towards her mom and dad.
“Did Papa and Mama not see his hand wrapped around this bandage?” ask Jane in a loud voice.
The look on Papa and Mama's face turned worried, followed by Felix's grimacing voice. Realizing that Felix was in pain, Jane lowered Felix's hand carefully.
“Ma-sorry, Felix,” Jane said. Even the girl grimaced at the sight of Felix's expression. His hands began to slowly rub Felix's palm to ease the young man's pain. Felix then touches Jane's hand, signaling the girl to stop.
“It's okay,” Felix says quietly. Unfortunately, their familiar gestures must be interrupted by the protests aired by Papa.
“Jane, you called your husband just by name?” ask Papa with a frown.
Suddenly the heads of the two men turned to Papa, followed by a plain answer that came out of Jane's lips. “Iya. Why?”
“Yeah, you stupid brat. You shouldn't call your husband just by that name. You should call Felix by ‘Sayang’ or another good call. You don't even call his name familiar.” Papa Protests.
Hearing what Papa said, Felix and Jane could only fall silent. From the beginning they agreed to call each other by name only. But calling each other affectionately? They are not ready and they are not used to it. Because it is undeniable that Jane and Felix are still not close even though they already share the same roof and even the same room and bed.
“Uhm... it's k-because.”.
“I asked him to call me by name only, Pa,” interrupted Felix to cover Jane's stuttering. “Because our age difference is only a year.”
“But I... don't feel it's a problem, Pa.”
“Felix–”
“Already, Pa. They are still newlyweds, they will also get used to it for a long time and start calling each other familiarly,” this time Mama who cut off Papa's speech.
Jane quietly sighed. He is grateful in his heart because the gesture ‘Mama-please-stop-Papa’ that Jane gave to his mother can be digested well by Mama. At least, besides her stubborn papa, Jane has a very understanding Mama. Mama also understood very well that the only daughter of this puppet is often at odds with her father. Papa finally cleared his throat slowly and did not continue his protest again.
“Papa and Mama did not ask Felix's hand condition?” jane changed the subject.
“Ah, yes. Why are your hands like that, son?” papa asked while looking at Felix with a worried look.
“Only small accident, Pa. My hands were splashed with hot water this morning,” Felix replied as he glimpsed his two hands.
“Yeah, just keep spoiled until you don't let Jane into the office.” Papa started his protest again.
“Papa!” Jane looked at her annoyed papa. “Hand Felix can be splashed with hot water like that because of my fault.”
“Oh, so you're the cause? Worth it, no wonder.”
“Ihhh, Papa–”
Jane's words were not forwarded because suddenly the sound of crying baby came from Aiden. And with that the debate between father and son that had been the spectacle of Mama and Felix was also over.
“That's right, because Papa's voice, Aiden so wake up.”
“Loh, why is Papa to blame?”
Jane did not respond to her father's remarks anymore as the girl immediately got up and ran up the stairs towards the second floor.
“Hey, don't run around like that, you're already–”
“Tuan Chandra, already do not nag anymore,” Mama's voice immediately sounded chimed, making Papa instantly silent. The next second the middle-aged woman got up and caught up with Jane. “Aiden, Grandma comes.”
Papa was alone with Felix at the dinner table. Can not be evaded, soon his daughter-in-law will be faced with various questions.
“Does that baby bother you, son?” ask Papa while starting to resume eating that was stopped because he was busy arguing with Jane.
“Of course not, Pa. I really like Aiden,” Felix immediately denied the question from his in-laws. She looked down and went back to enjoying the food at her pinring.
Papa was seen nodding slowly, accompanied by the appearance of a meaningful smile on his face.
“Good if you like Aiden. Then, what about my son?”
Felix raised his face and looked straight at Papa. He simply smiled meaningfully in response to the question Papa had just thrown at him.
