Geck. Geck.
The knock on the door rattled Lexi from her daydream. The door of the room opened, Lexi published a faint smile as her father stepped in.
"I'm fine, Dad."
Five minutes earlier, his mother came in, asking what he was feeling. Before his mother came, Darren was the one who drove him to the room. Darren had been there for quite a while, sitting with him in silence. Whether it's Lexi's feelings alone, Darren looks very shaken.
"Yes, my daughter is a great kid." His father sat beside him. Gently rubbed his head carefully as if afraid if the touch could hurt him.
"No matter what anyone says about me out there. That's the truth, Dad. Really, I'm fine. Please don't worry about me."
His father took a deep breath, clearly seeing that his father did not fully believe what he said. Yes, he is an adult, not the time to whine about things. A fact can never be changed. The fact that Willson's blood doesn't flow in his blood. Then what's the problem? He is still the son of his father and mother. No matter who gave birth to it.
"Daddy will withdraw all support provided to Brian for the campaign he is currently conducting."
Lexi smiled modestly, "Dad, your comforting ways are very bad. From the beginning you never gave her support. You and them are enemies."
"Those who consider us enemies. What are you working on?"
Lexi showed me the square screen she was holding from earlier. Other facts that make him feel worse. Steve was right, the design belonged to Steve. Lexi was proven to steal even though she didn't actually do it. How can a design be exactly the same? Steve patented his work two years earlier. Lexi designed the suit six months ago and on the advice of one of her friends. Lexi contacted her friend and apologized to her that it was true that her friend stole someone's design when she visited Spain. What else can Lexi do now? There was no way he could pass the blame onto his friend. All he had to do was make peace with Steve. Apologize sincerely.
"I stole, Dad." The sweetness was teary-eyed holding back the cries. There were too many surprises to the point that he did not know which one made his eyes ache. "And I saw her, saw Olivia. Is he coming back to life? Oh Dad, it's a relief if Olivia's alive." Yeah, Lexi saw the woman a second before Darren took Brian down.
Pax who listened to that felt his heart ditch. Is that his daughter? If the others look pale and panicked when they see Oleshia, Lexi gives thanks.
"There is no such thing as rising from the grave, dear. So tell Daddy, what are you gonna do with this case? You'll be accused of stealing."
"The reality is like that, Dad. I'll confess and apologize and I won't stop drawing. It's quite exhausting. I'll sit quietly at home spending your fortune. Are you gonna mind, Dad?"
Pax chuckled, "Take it if you can."
"Ah, somehow I really like the arrogance of the men in this house." Lexi threw herself into her father's arms. Hugged the middle-aged man tightly. He can't cry. "Dad?"
"Hmm?"
"I'm your daughter, right?"
"You are my most precious treasure, my dear."
"Mom would be angry if he heard that. He'll be jealous."
"If you're a treasure to Daddy, your mother is home. A house where we go home, a house that guards and protects the property we have. We love you."
Lexi nodded her head, no matter what the world told her about her unclear origin. Only he knows and feels what kind of love Willson gave him, there will be no comparison.
Ting!
A notification came in. Lexi broke her embrace. Picking up the phone, both corners of his lips curved perfectly reading the incoming message. Photo Amor, the flower girl who is now a teenager. "Today I was in trouble. My bike was stolen by someone. I cried all day, and then my neighbor broke the news that the one who stole my bike had an accident. When I feel pain over a disaster. Understand it. It's the universe's way of teaching you something."
"He's like he's got an alarm when I feel scared." Lexi showed Amor's message to her father. Pax smiled as he nodded.
"You're surrounded by people who care and care about you. Come down to dinner." His father stood up, moved out of the room.
"I'll be right down, Dad."
Lexi rushed into the toilet. Just wash your face, don't want your family to wait any longer. As he was about to leave the room, his phone rang again. Message from Lily. A vidio. Intrigued by the contents of the vidio, Lexi opened it immediately. Steven is clarifying. Apologizing to the media for his team's mistakes. The man claims that it was their team that stole Willson Armour's design.
"Mom, I'm sorry, I can't have dinner together. There's something I have to do." Lexi approached her mother at the dinner table. Everyone gathered there.
"What's the urgent matter that you have to go handle now? Outside there will probably be a lot of reporters who will bother you. I'll drive you." Austin stood up from his chair. Lexi's headband she ignored.
"No, no, you're here. I'll just be a minute." He glanced at Darren who seemed to not care where he was going. Tumben. The man's face still looked gloomy. It was as if a huge burden was pressing down on the man's heart.
"Tom will take you." His father's words were not disputed by Lexi.
Tom who was always on standby at their house immediately prepared the car upon hearing Pax's orders.
Lexi followed Tom after saying goodbye to everyone. He has to see Steven. What does that man's action mean? Wanna play him?!
Thirty minutes later, Lexi reached Steve's house. He wished the man was already there.
"You wait here. I'll just be a minute, Tom."
Tom nodded without much comment.
Lexi pressed the doorbell, there was no doubt at all like the first time she set foot there. It wasn't long before the door was opened by the middle-aged man, the same man who drove him yesterday to Steven's room.
"I'd like to see Dixton Ivarez." His tongue could not call Steve. He also prayed that Steve would not be in the room.
"Please, Ms. Willson's. Mr. Ivarez is at the dinner table."
Ah, yes, it's dinner time. Should he wait in the main room. Let the man enjoy dinner. It was more polite and better.
"Well, I'll wait here." The man nodded and immediately withdrew. After the man left, Lexi suddenly felt dizzy, nauseous. Her body is cold hot. His sight began to blur.
"What's the urge to make you come here, Lexi?"
Lexi looked up, the figure standing before her that was filled with shadows making her head even more throbbing. The shadow began to disappear, changing with a black blob until he finally fell unconscious.
