DSL 01 - Prologue

The sound of a mobile phone vibrating seized the attention of all those who were in a room. It was seen they were attending a monthly meeting held at their company. Not wanting to interrupt the meeting, the owner of the phone immediately took it. But the frown on his forehead came when the number trying to reach him was his home phone number.

"Stop," the man told an employee who was currently reading the report.

"Good, Sir."

The man then walked away from the meeting table while putting the phone in his ear.

"Hello?" The man's brows furrowed before long both his eyes widened as he heard the news he had received.

"WHAT? All right, I'll be there soon. Thank you," cried the man who was shocked and worried about the woman he loved so much.

"It stops here. Disperse," after saying that, the man immediately ran away leaving the meeting room. Leaving his employees who whispered to each other saw the strange behavior of his superiors.

"What happened to Mr Alvin?"

"He seems to be in a hurry,"

"Don't something bad happen to Miss Oliv?"

"Huuuuuuuuuhst. Don't talk carelessly, we just pray that nothing happens to him."

"Thus. We better get out and get back to work,"

One by one the people inside started packing their things and came out of the meeting room. Although there were still one or two people whispering, but they still carried out the orders of the big boss.

Alvin Leonardo's. CEO and owner of LEONARDO GROUP which is the number one company in Indonesia engaged in pharmaceuticals. He is the only son of Adam Leonardo and Stella Cornelia, founder and President Director of VINLEN Hospital. He is also the husband of Olivia Elisa Lovus who used to work for Valerie as her right hand man in control at VALE DIAMOND PARIS.

(For those who have read THE RULER, of course, know this figure of Olivia. For those who haven't, please read. It's over.)

Alvin drives his car at high speed. He hit a red light several times to reach his destination quickly. Both of his hands gripped the steering wheel of his car, thinking about how all this happened all of a sudden.

"Save my wife and child, Lord. Save them both. I wouldn't be able to live without them" Alvin murmured, adding to the speed of his car. As a doctor, of course he knows how the current state of the wife. Yes, Alvin used to be a surgeon before he jumped into his family's company. Right after he got married, Alvin decided to quit being a doctor whose life was spent on the hospital operating table. In addition to his work that requires being in the hospital continuously, Alvin also wants to be able to live peacefully next to his wife.

Olivia Elisa Lovus's. The second highest holder of power after Valerie Valentino Dominic in the famous diamond company VALE DIAMOND which is located in Paris. Olivia was an orphan. He met Alvin when he attended the wedding of his best friend Valerie's older brother, Daniel Valentino. Alvin falls in love at first sight with a beautiful and gentle female figure like Olivia. This is where the love story of the two begins. Alvin who was once very naughty and famous playboy immediately stopped and began to pursue the love of Olivia. The persistence and determination that Alvin has, makes him finally able to get the love of Olivia even though he knows that Olivia is not an ordinary woman. Olivia, unlike women in general, has a rare disease and is difficult to cure.

The first time Alvin learned of Olivia's illness, he was shocked. Until when Olivia took off the wig she had been wearing, then Alvin believed the disease. For the first time Alvin cried when he learned that the woman he loved was suffering from the deadliest disease in the world. He was so devastated that he could not focus on working for several days.

However, Olivia who is a gentle and loving woman always advises Alvin. He gave the spirit and understanding to the man so as not to be affected by his condition and disease. Olivia also did not show her tormented face to the husband although sometimes she felt like dying when the disease began to recur.

It didn't take long, and Alvin finally arrived at the hospital lobby. Without caring about his car, Alvin immediately came out and ran into the area inside the hospital. Everyone who was there looked down upon seeing the cold face of Alvin who was walking hastily towards somewhere. Arriving in a hallway, his eyes could see his two parents who were already there with their faces looking worried.

Alvin's steps felt heavy, but as much as possible he kept moving. His eyes were heating up, his tears wanted to spill but Alvin tried to hold him back. Stella who saw the arrival of the son immediately approached Alvin and poured into his arms. Stella sobbed in tears recalling the words of the doctor a moment ago.

"Alvin, Olivia, Alvin. Olivia was bleeding on the way to the hospital. He has PRE-ECLAMPSIA, so he needs surgery right now." Stella said with a cry of sadness. (PREECLAMASIA) is high blood pressure that develops during pregnancy.

Oliv had the disorder since the age of 25 weeks. The doctor who handled Olivia said that.

Alvin's heart stopped beating. His world collapsed instantly along with the bad news that befell his wife. Adam and Stella who knew that were as shocked as Alvin. They are both at the toughest point because of Olivia's current condition.

"Pe-bleeding? H-how could you, Ma? What the hell is going on?" Alvin asked his mother. Shortly after, Alvin's body felt sluggish. Adam who saw Alvin staggered immediately wiped him.

"Patiently, Son. Everything's gonna be okay, hm?" After the two sat down, Adam tried to sharpen the heart of the father-to-be. Alvin's eyes were blank, his mind suddenly crumbling. He could speak no more than tears.

"Why? Why does all this have to happen to me and my wife, my God? WHY?" Alvin asked as he looked at the creator who was up there. He felt angry and upset at the fate that seemed to always play tricks on him and Olivia.

"Patience, Honey. Don't be like this, Mama's just as sad as you are." Stella hugged Alvin's body tightly, channeling her love and passion to the thirty-seven-year-old mature man.
