"What do you think is true love, Letta?" ask Julliane.
Julliane has been through some painful times. As a result of sweat and the hand that kept pressing on her face from earlier, her makeup began to fade. His gaze began to faintly reveal itself. He had not gotten out of bed because he was tired. Letta had locked up Julliane's room just in case anyone came in.
Letta sat down next to Julliane's head. Seeking answers by glaring but not meeting. "I don't know."
"Are lovers who love each other called true love? Or is the person who loves others what they are called true love? Even though the person who accepts his love does not feel the same way? Or the one who sacrifices everything he has for the sake of his beloved who is called true love? What about people who are willing to let go of a happy loved one with another, is that called true love?" question after question Julliane.
Looking for true love means a lot to make him confused. But he was sure the man who approached him was not his true love. Of the many men, Julliane thinks that Ian is a near-perfect candidate to true love. They're buddies. He felt comfortable around Ian. They bound the past and met again like a soul mate. No, that's not entirely true, in the novel Ian never met Julliane even once until the end.
It's true, there are people who just stop by and do not settle, for example Ian.
"If for me true love is timeless. A couple love each other to death no matter what the circumstances," said Letta.
Julliane realizes that Letta is talking about the first King and Queen. A sad face mingled with anger was seen on his face. The Spirit King must have told their story over and over again to Letta, until Letta felt the hatred and disappointment the Spirit King felt.
"May I know the reason the Spirit King cursed the descendants of the King and concubines instead of them alone?" ask Julliane curiously.
"The Spirit King only wants to know what the King and concubines will do when they see their child being cursed. Can they love their own children even if they have a curse?"
Julliane could guess the answer. Excommunicating a child who is cursed has become a tradition. This must be because the first King did not care about his son.
Letta took a breath to continue.
"Man is truly terrible even at his own flesh and blood. They hate that damned child. The difference in the affection of the damned child and the other child is very different, like July. They let him fight alone to break the curse, despite being told how. How to remove the curse is actually already said when cursing the King and concubines, but they forget about it out of fear. The fate of the next damned child was not much different, even worse. Some were banished to the village and the most terrible were killed."
Julliane was dumbfounded at what she heard. Although Julliane's parents were bad parents, there were worse than them.
"Did the Spirit King ever regret his actions?"
"Sometimes. The Spirit King felt sorry for the damned children. They bear sins that are not the result of their own actions."
Seeing his deeds make innocent people suffer made the Spirit King feel guilty.
"I will not blame the Spirit King. If my friend is betrayed like that, I'll be angry."
Letta froze because of Julliane's words. Julliane got up to the dresser. He cleansed his face. He noticed his tattoo getting wider. Not having time to regret his hatred earlier, he grabbed the self-adorned beauty equipment. After this, he'll meet Ellaine and Edgar. They must be worried.
Letta noticed him from earlier. "Thank you, Olivia," said Letta Lirih, only herself to hear. He smiled and disappeared.
After finishing the makeup, Julliane looked back. His spirit friend had already returned to his realm. The sound of knocking on the door sounded. Julliane opened it, finding Ellaine and Edgar standing full of worry.
Both of his sisters breathed a sigh of relief. They hugged him without knowing what his brother was hiding.
"Thank you for saving me, Sister Juli," Ellaine said, wiping her tears. Fear and guilt continued to fill his heart from earlier. When something bad happens to her brother, she cannot forgive herself.
"No need to thank you, Elle. I'm just doing what a big brother has to do." Julliane patted Ellaine's back to calm her down.
Their togetherness is interrupted by the arrival of Leroy. Highlight Leroy's eyes filled with anger.
"Ellaine, Edgar go. There's something I need to talk to Julliane about" said Leroy coldly.
"Let Kak Juli rest for a while, Dad. He was too exhausted just now" suggested Edgar.
"Didn't you hear me?!" shout Leroy.
The three brothers gasped. They don't know the cause of Leroy's anger. Ellaine and Edgar looked at each other and said goodbye.
Julliane invited her father in. They sit facing each other. Without further ado Leroy spilled his frustration.
"Do you know the impact of your actions Julliane?" asked Leroy in a slightly high tone.
Expelling Princes, Duke and nobles for no apparent reason could cause Julliane's reputation to deteriorate. However, he did not regret it because his actions were right.
"I know Father, but they don't deserve Elliane," Julliane replied fearlessly.
"It's not a matter of merit or not Julliane. It's about our Kingdom."
Leroy told his daughter the matter of Yuvinere Kingdom. Julliane never expected her Kingdom to cover financial problems with luxury. Pretending to be strong but very fragile.
The Flower Palace novel never told the matter of the Yuvinere Kingdom. Never mind the reason Ellaine accepted Beckett in the novel because of this, she never loved the Prince.
"The only way to solve this problem is with political marriage." Leroy stared at Julliane full of threats.
Julliane knew what her father meant. "I don't want to get married, Dad."
"Then Ellaine will take your place, Julliane" threatened Leroy.
Julliane clenched her hands tightly while closing her eyes. Against Ian and Leroy are two different things. With confidence Julliane opposed Ian who set-up. He really wanted to talk to Leroy but now Jullaine is his son. He had no choice but to agree, but what about his curse and true love?
Should I sacrifice Ellaine?
