Elise rubbed her wrists which were hurting because Fiona pulled her out of the office a few minutes ago. Fiona silently unmoved, she looked at Elise from top to bottom then spoke in a cynical tone.

“As long as you know, you won't be able to be Julian's wife because I'm the one who will occupy that position.”

Fiona said confidently. He seemed to be waiting to say that to Elise and Elise thought Fiona would say that sooner or later. Now, Fiona has a chance to hit Elise head-on.

The twenty-seven-year-old man chuckled pettyly, for some reason Elise's current expression was so amusing reminiscent of a puppy who was afraid of being scolded by her master.

“No need to worry so. If you don't mind, can you accompany me to dinner tonight?"

"You're asking me to date?"

Nicolas shows the table with some paper on it, Elise who sees it nods then walks towards the table and starts working on her work. She doesn't know about Nicolas's face blushing out at the time, or maybe Elise doesn't realize it because she's too embarrassed to talk about the date to Nicolas.

unbeknownst to Elise Nicolas lowered her face into the folds of her hands on the table, she tried to neutralize her irregularly beating heartbeats.
