Chapter 25 — Magic Knights (2)

After doing ‘session eat’ with Dorothy, Luminas went to Selena's room. Because just before she left, Selena whispered something to her.

“'Mama has prepared something for you, check it in my room because it will help you a lot’”

That was what Selena said before she went to the battlefield. Luminas was quite curious what Selena left in her room until she had to whisper like that.

After a while of walking, he finally arrived in front of Selena's room. He took out the key given by his mother and opened it.

Luminas looked around to check if there was anything different from her mother's room and she hid it around her room. But after examining the surroundings, Luminas got nothing. Selena's room is in its normal state. And then Luminas gets excited about something.

‘... What do you mean in the secret room?’

When thinking about it, Luminas went straight to the table where Selena used to sit. He still vividly remembers which book Selena used to open the secret room. He quickly turned the page of the book and put a key in it.

*CLOTH!

Luminas recalled that Selena put a little mana into the lock to open the secret room.

*DRRPR!

As Luminas had guessed, the thick bookshelves shifted and displayed a passageway leading to the secret room.

Luminas walked into the secret room. He did not forget to look around, ascertain whether anyone saw it or not, and then closed it again.

As Luminas was descending the stairs to the training room, from a distance he saw a thin book sitting on top of an altar in the middle of the room.

Luminas instantly realizes that the book is the thing his mother meant would be of great help to Luminas if he studied it.

Luminas rushed to the altar and picked up the book. Luminas was nervous, he was curious about what his mother meant that the contents of this book would help him greatly. But—

When Luminas opened the book, it did not exist. Luminas was confused by the blank sheet that was in the book and tried to turn the page. But his efforts were futile, even until the last page he turned contained only a blank sheet of paper.

The bewildered Luminas decided to calm himself down. He was silent and thought for a moment.

‘.... What am I supposed to do? Is there a secret mechanism? Or don't-don't—‘

Luminas glanced at the altar that had once housed the book. He looked and examined the altar in detail. After a while he found a crack in a placemat that housed the book.

He then pulled a gap from the altar and tried to open it. He felt that a secret about this book was behind the altar.

But the efforts of Luminas were in vain. When he violently pulled it, the saucer did not even move an inch. He thought that from within the gap should enter his aura.

Without waiting for long Luminas immediately tried it. He drew an aura from all over his body and concentrated it on his fingertips. Then he inserted his finger which was already enveloped by the aura.

Moments after Luminas inserted an aura into the altar, a green light that looked like a root crept from the crack until it encompassed the entire altar.

The altar now looked like it was full of cracks that were emitting green light. Soon after, from the crack the green light shone even brighter.

*CRAK!

The altar's saucer shifted, displaying its contents that looked like an empty wooden box. But inside the altar contains an urn covered with a cloth.

Luminas then pulled the cloth, and the contents of the urn inside the altar were water. Seeing the water, Luminas was silent for a moment. After a moment of silence, he dipped his fingers into the water in the urn. Then he opened the first page of the book, and pressed his wet hand in the urn to the first page of the book.

“!!!”

When you apply water to a book, a piece of writing finally emerges from the book. Luminas exclaimed, for all these things were in accordance with his expectations.

After learning the secret, Luminas applied water to the entire first page of the book. He did not water or sprinkle water on all the pages in the book because he feared the contents would be damaged.

A paragraph appears when he inserts water on the paper of the book. He read the title, it is ‘Dragon Speech’.

‘Dragon Speech? What is this?’

Luminas further read the paragraph below it.

‘M-impossible!’

Luminas was once again shocked, as he had not expected that there would be such a technique in this world. The technique was named Dragon Speech, it was a technique to shorten the time of casting magic.

‘This not only sums up the magic cast, but really takes away the time to cast magic!’

The Dragon Speech Technique was a technique where the user of the technique would only name the spell he wanted to use then the spell would magically be finished without chanting.

Luminas continued to read the book, and was surprised by the facts contained in the book.

From the book, that Dragon Speech technique is a technique derived from the way the dragon casts a magic.

One day, a genius wizard recognized by all the people of the world gets bored with his life. He then tried to start an adventure, while on an adventure he found a dragon cave containing a dragon that was sleeping soundly.

When the magician tried to sneak out of the dragon cave, suddenly the dragon woke up and roared at him. He could not move and suddenly fire came out of the air around the dragon.

The witch realized that it was a fireball spell, but the dragon did it without a slap. In order to satisfy his curiosity, he began to fight with the dragon in order to research how he used magic without spells.

He went to the dragon cave only to fight with the dragon, then returned to his home to record his progress, then he tried it practically. He repeated the process every day for decades. Until one day he could understand a little of the dragon technique, and create this Dragon Speech technique.

Reading the story, Luminas was amazed by the magician in the story. He was willing to fight with a monstrous entity just to satisfy his curiosity. He also thinks of dragons.

‘Is there a dragon in this world? It made sense where this world was based on the background of magic. It's no surprise that dragons really exist in this world,'

Ignoring the story of the dragon, he turned the page and read it again. Because the book is very thin, besides the long story earlier the rest of the contents are a way to perform Dragon Speech techniques.

‘Although this book is short... But the contents are very detailed..’.

Luminas read the rest of the book briefly, then closed the book and put it back on the altar.

Suddenly Luminas dropped himself to the ground and sat down cross-legged. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

‘From the book, this Dragon Speech technique has three important aspects. First is the mana composition, imagination, and also the user's oral.’.

Luminas sighed once more, he began to drain the pure mana present in his body towards his throat. To use Dragon Speech, the user must know how much magic energy is used in the spell. It was therefore impossible to mention a spell that he had never learned.

After collecting the mana in his throat, Luminas imagined how the process and formula formed a water spell.

A water spell formula was already imagined in Luminas head, he continued it by chanting the spell he wanted to use verbally. Because the mana that was in his throat automatically the sound that Luminas released seemed to resonate and had magic energy in it.

““[Water Arrow]””

A large amount of water suddenly appeared in the air and formed an arrow. Luminas then pointed the water arrow he made toward the stone wall of the room.

*SPLASH!

“....”

Luminas fell silent and looked towards the wall hit by his water arrow. Although it was not scratched, but he felt a much stronger impact compared to when he did not use the Dragon Speech technique.

‘.... What happens if I add more mana in it?’

When Luminas thought about it, without waiting for long he immediately tried it. This time he would use the same spell, but with a different amount of mana.

““[Water Arrow!]””

*WUSWUSWUS!

A greater amount of water just appeared in the air. This time, the number of water arrows that appeared was overwhelming. Luminas was shocked when he could make a single spell into a mass attack just by increasing the amount of mana used.

‘What if my attack is centered to the same point?’

Dozens of water arrows shot out and hit the stone wall at the same point. After all the water arrows had hit the stone wall, Luminas approached the stone wall and checked if there was any damage even if it was small.

But when he saw that the stone wall had not been scratched by an inch, Luminas let out a disappointed sigh. He had expected it, but feeling it directly still made him a little disappointed.

Luminas then stepped back and walked towards the center of the room. He closed his eyes again, then extended his hand as if he was holding something.

In an instant a sharp and beautiful ice sword formed in Luminas' hands. He opened his eyes and headed forward.

Luminas took a sword pose, then he swung his ice sword very quickly. He slashed down the altar in the middle of the room into small pieces of wood.

Luminas stopped his steps and he looked at the beautiful ice sword formed in his hand.

‘It is not as strong as the original sword, but still very strong, but.’.

Luminas let out a long sigh, he felt a little disappointed that he needed to use a lot of mana just to maintain this sword.

‘Well, with my mana count I don't think it's a problem and can still make it even stronger... But I was curious about one thing.’.

Luminas drew his sword to the side. A short time later, a blue white aura shot out from Luminas' body and began to creep into the sword he was holding.

He smiled satisfied knowing that it turned out that the weapon he made from ice magic could be flowed his aura. After shaking the sword a few times he also learned that it looked much stronger than before.

In the darkness of the night of the city of Arland, a group of soldiers who had death crescent emblems in their armor were seen partying. They sat in front of the campfire holding a glass filled with liquor.

The soldiers drank their drinks very quickly, as if there was no tomorrow for them.

The soldier replied to his colleague's question with a stinging voice while hiccupping. His face looked extremely red, it seemed like he had drunk too much and was already heavily drunk.

In the darkness of the night in the forest, from outside the border walls of Arland seen a lot of burning torches and a group of soldiers who were lined up parallel and seen forming a road.

They wore their full armor with shiny equipment. These soldiers were the elite soldiers of the Chronos Empire army. They stood parallel while brandishing swords and raising their flags upwards.

A thin man and a large woman were seen leading the soldiers. They are two of the 7 Heroes of Chronos, Granger Graziette and Marsha Benwith. And behind them were the aides and advisers to the war this time, Yulius the strategist and Farmith.

On that dark night, they continued to look towards the forest like they were waiting for something while putting on an anxious expression.

After a while, the sound of the slowly walking horse leg was heard from the direction of the forest.

From the darkness, came a silhouette of a man riding a horse. The man has a fierce face and also brown curly hair with a long sob.

“We welcome the supreme commander!”

“”We welcome the supreme commander!!””

The sound of their cries broke the silence of the forest that night.

After hearing the welcome from the soldiers in front of him, the man raised his hand and pointed towards Julius.

“Yulius, how is the current war situation?”

The man asked Julius.

“Ya, supreme commander. The war situation this time remained under control, the enemy had already been pushed back towards the Giant Fortress.The soldiers were also at the highest morale. If there is no problem, we should win the war this time,”

Yulius explained it politely while slightly bowing.

“Have you got any information about who holds the highest command of the enemy?”

“I'm sorry, but the enemy side doesn't seem to let the spies know who led the war,”

Yulis looked down apologizing.

The man stroked his chin from his horse.

The man who confidently could finish off any enemy that came with his strength was, the second strongest of the 7 Hero Chronos, the supreme commander of this war, Jack Crimson. One of the grand masters of Chronos plunged straight into the battlefield.
