Chapter 74 - Defense Magic

The next day, Zchaira, Megathirio, as well as all the new disciples finally began to practice to manipulate their magic energy. Starting at the training this time the new disciples would try to manipulate the power of defense magic, where for the very first they are required to create a shield from the projection of their magic energy or commonly called Mana.
The new students of the academy concentrated on focusing their Mana on the part of their limbs, the hand, which was the easiest way to project magic energy.
On that first day, a small portion of the new disciples managed to manipulate their Mana into a projection shield well, though, where two students with the highest level who were at the Regional Venerate level, Megathirio and Lucia managed to do this easily.
Not inferior to the two Regional Venerate disciples, it seemed that Zchaira was also a Division Venerate disciple who was two levels below them capable of manipulating his magic energy into a projection shield perfectly.
Even Zchaira's ability to project a projection shield from her magic energy seemed to be better compared to the disciples of the Venerate Division who had the same level as her.

On the second day, the new disciples resumed practicing projecting their Mana into a projection shield.
On the second day, three students with the best abilities, Megathirio, Lucia and Zchaira, could easily master the technique, they can now project a projection shield without having to point one or both of them forward. Using only the power of their minds, the three disciples were able to project a magic energy without having to use a certain movement.

By the third day, Megathirio, Lucia, Zchaira had mastered the technique better than the other new students.

Suddenly a boy named Haniwa who was slightly envious of the abilities of the three best disciples, was, it instantly unleashed its hidden abilities by directly projecting a magic energy shield on a larger scale compared to them.
This then makes Megathirio, Lucia and Zchaira surprised, where they still can not access the advanced defense magic.
Likewise with the other new students, seemed envious to see the ability of Haniwa because they felt they would start to lag further than the four students.

On the fifth to seventh day, the disciples continued their defensive magic training by now having to manipulate their Mana to create a barrier projection.
Just like when training to project a projection shield, the students of Harud first focused Mana into their hands, so that their magic energy could be projected properly.
In contrast to creating a projection shield, where some disciples who had previously been able to do so had difficulty creating a barrier from their magic energy.
In contrast to some disciples who were previously not good at creating projection shields, they were now easily able to create a barrier from their magic energy.
This is due to the difference in thinking and imagining abilities of each student, which makes some of them able to master the technique of creating projection shields, as well as some others can easily master the technique of creating barrier projections.
However, this had no effect on Megathirio, Lucia and Zchaira, where they could easily create a projection barrier just as easily as when they created a projection shield.

Not to be outdone by Haniwa, Zchaira then concentrated on focusing more magic energy to do the same as the boy.

Zchaira easily created a projection barrier on a more scale and instantly silenced the arrogance of the boy.

Then on the eighth to ninth day of their training, the new disciples finally had to learn the third defensive magic technique of focusing magic energy to be able to coat their bodies into a defense.
The new disciples not only had to focus Mana on one or two of their hands, but now they are challenged to have to focus a larger Mana throughout the body in order to increase their body's defenses in a short time.
Some students are not easy to do this because the level of difficulty in the technique seems greater than the previous technique.
However, it still has no effect on the three students with the best abilities, which are not Magathirio, Lucia and Zchaira. The three of them could easily master the technique to the point of making their bodies emit magic energy.

And finally on the tenth day, the defensive magic techniques learned and mastered by them will be tested one by one.
Starting from the projection of their shields, some disciples had to march in a circle in a large place while accessing their projection shield creation technique.
Brynzel as a teacher in the field went to the middle and then immediately launched a large projection attack so that some of the projection shields projected by some students immediately shattered and then immediately threw out them.

Some of them were able to maintain their projection barrier, including Megathirio, Lucia, Zchaira and Haniwa, among others, however, some of the other students were unable to maintain their projection barrier when it collided with Brynzel's projection attack.

The defensive magic testing of the new disciples continued, as they now had to test their energy-projecting abilities all over the body like a suit of armor.
Just like before, where some disciples had to line up in a circular shape, and had to accept the attack launched by Brynzel.
All the students took turns to do this until the turn of the four best disciples, suddenly Zchaira became less due to lack of confidence in his abilities, and his ability to do so, making a projection of magic energy from the girl instantly vanished as the attack from Brynzel shot towards her.
Zchaira immediately accepted the attack to throw it and immediately assumed the girl failed the test.
