Chapter 33: The Circle

"But Big Brother is telling the truth Pa, Big Brother is not lying! It's Akira and Alya's fault, isn't it unfair that only Big Brother gets scolded? Brother didn't do anything wrong, Brother just defended Akira" Akira told his father.

"But he shouldn't yell at Alya like that! He's-"

"Already Akira, calm yourself down" said Shinji pulling Akira closer to him.

"But, but this is not fair to Kak Yuki, Kak. Akira never saw Big Brother like that, pity Kak Yuki" Akira said with tears in his eyes.

"I don't understand, but he's also guilty" Shinji said, hugging Akira.

"Then, anger Akira too!" Akira stared at Shinji. "It's Akira's fault to be angry with Akira too" he said stubbornly.

"It's Pa, he's like this isn't he?" Naoya was clear on his Papa. "Then.. Why did you wake Alya up like that!" Naoya stared at Akira.

"About just wanting to wake Alya up so we can have breakfast together" Akira murmured subduing his gaze.

"From tomorrow don't wake Alya again and apologize to Yuki!" Naoya again.

"Hm, sorry" murmured Akira still subduing his gaze. He did not dare to look at Naoya.

"Happy?" Naoya hugged Akira. "I'm sorry Brother scolded you, with this the problem is over, isn't it?" Naoya smiled as she stroked Akira's back.

"Hm, sorry Brother" said Akira returning Naoya's embrace while crying.

"Not crying. Now go to bed tomorrow Akira has to go to school, right?" Naoya smiled.

"Hm"

"Go to the room and go to bed" he said again.

"About understanding Sis" Akira explained wiping away her tears. "Sorry because Akira is selfish Pa, good night" Akira said then went to his room.

"You also go into Shin's room, tomorrow you have to work" Naoya said. "I'll sleep too. Good night"

In Akira's room..

"Sister?" Akira surprises when he finds Yuki in his room. "What's up, brother?"

"There's nothing" Yuki smiled. "Sister said it's not Akira's fault but still stubborn. Akira until scolded by Kak Nao like before" he explained still smiling.

"Because Akira was wrong too. Sorry Brother" 

"Thank you for standing up for Big Brother, Akira is the best" Ycap Yuki stroked Akira's head.

"Because Big Brother is innocent anyway, this isn't fair"

"Hm, Big Brother is fine so there is no need to discuss anymore huh. Now go to sleep, Brother will return to the room" explained Yuki.

"Good Brother."

"Great dream, thank you Akira. Good night" Yuki said with a smile. She hugged Akira briefly and went to her room.

"Good night."

From that day on, Yuki became quiet. He only spoke as necessary and often locked himself in a room. Although Mr. Souma had already apologized, it did not change Yuki's attitude change. 

Due to the incident as well, Akira is further and further away from Alya. They almost never talk to each other even to greet each other. Confidence began to envelop the family.

Next day.

At the dining table..

"Good morning" said Yuki flatly.

"Good morning" replied Rina, Papa, Naoya and Shinji with a smile.

"Sit down" said Rina to get her some rice.

"I can do it myself" Yuki said coldly.

"It's okay, let me get it" explained Lina smiling.

Silent. There was no answer from Yuki. He just lowered his gaze without saying a word.

"Let him take his own rice" Papa explained.

"But.."

There was no more conversation after that. Silence, everyone was immersed in his own thoughts.

A while later.

"Thank you for the food" Yuki said after the meal. Yuki then left without saying anything more.

"Sister.."

Day by day the awkwardness among the Souma family members grew bigger. The indifference and indifference made it worse. The busyness of each is also one of the factors that cause a sense of indifference to each member is growing.

"I didn't do it!" Upset Akira stared intently at Alya's eyes.

"Don't dodge Akira! I clearly saw you enter a club. You are a complete disgrace of family!" Alya's jerk to Akira.

Yuki approached the women. She stared into Alya's eyes as well as Rina's before her hand grabbed Akira's hand and pulled him into the room.

"You okay? Is anyone hurt?" Yuki's question looked into Akira's eyes.

"It's about okay, brother."

Yuki then hugged her sister quite tightly. "Sorry Akira, Big Brother will never leave you alone again with that demon. Brother believes you're a good boy. Sorry yes."

"Sister is not wrong Brother, thank you. Akira never really did."

Akira returned Yuki's embrace which was no less tight.

Goddamnit! That girl really is! Dare to do such a thing to my sister!

Lies, misunderstandings, debates, emotions, apologies, tears have become a daily meal in the Souma family home. Events like this have happened repeatedly and involve different individuals as well. 

This incident is like a quicksand circle, a life cycle that traps every member of the Souma family. The more they try to escape from the circle, the stronger the pull.

The more time spent in that house, the more they knew that many things were missing from the Souma family. The more they know about the family, the greater the guilt they feel. The more talk between family members, the more awkward it becomes. 

Akira doesn't even feel comfortable being in his own family. He started to close with his Sisters even to Yuki.

"Father and Mother will go to Indonesia for a few days. Papa will be monitoring the company while on vacation there. You guys are fine here, take care of each other and don't fight every once in a while. Naoya, Shin take care of your sisters and Yuki, Akira and Alya can't make Naoya bother, keep her company. You have to help each other and take care of each other as long as Papa and Mother go" said Papa gave a speech because the condition of the house is not okay.

"Nao understands Pa. I will take care of my sisters" Naoya replied smiling.

"Please Naoya, we're counting on you. We'll be home soon" said Rina smiling.

"Don't stay up late and eat well, okay?" Papa said again reminding.

Naoya smiled. "We understand Pa, Papa and Mom don't have to worry. We'll be fine."

"Papa is relieved now. We're leaving yeah."

"Be careful Pa, good luck to the destination" Akira hugged his father.

"It's fine here. Although it is contradictory but please take care of your Brother, they pay less attention to their health. Papa is counting on Akira" said Papa stroking Akira's head.

"Of course Pa, Akira will look after Big Brother" Akira replied smiling.

"Hm, Papa will bring Akira's favorite surabi."

"Thank you Pa, Akira is waiting for him" Akira replied smiling.

"Oh yes, we have to leave now or later we will miss the plane. Remember Papa's words. We left" she then walked away from her children.

"Be careful Pa, Mom."

"Let's go home too" Naoya asked with a smile that was taken by all his sisters.
