The American In Another World
Chapter 20: The Fall of Leifor

August 16th

Maihark Beach

Under the calm summer sun, several figures were playing around along the Maihark beach, while several others were lazing around. On a nearby terrace, elegantly dressed men and women enjoy wine and the cool sea breeze.

President Lee put down his glass and asked the elf maid to refill. As he did his duty, Lee felt a boiling heat coming from his left. He turned around, finding his wife looking at him with malicious intent. “Woah, come on now Mary. Honey look, I'm just curious you know; never seen an elf so well. I swear nothing bad or anything.”.

"Haha," he grinned wickedly. "You're so cute when you're all confused like that."

"Oh, yeah." Lee glanced at the table across from them and saw some of his friends at the Secret Service sharing giggles. He didn't know if they were laughing at him or something else at all. “Alright, do you think it's time to open Qua Toyne for tourism? Looks pretty good here.”

Mary put her hand in her hand. “Yes, sunset is also pretty good. This is a great place to visit, but by opening this place I don't know. I don't like to see this crowded place like the beaches in SoCal or Florida.

President Lee sipped his wine as he rubbed his wife's tender hand. "Yes. This place is pretty perfect. Looks better than Quila, safer than Louria...it will be difficult to find other good places like this.”.

“What about the empire in the north? The big one."

“Parpaldia? Yes, I did see photos and videos of Ambassador Anders and the sailors. It looks amazing, like a real fantasy town, but with a European twist. But I mean,” sighs Lee, “I don't have a good feeling about Parpaldia. The diplomats we sent were a bit hesitant about the place, and the people were quite arrogant, according to the Kaio man. Moreover, their capital city looks very nice, but take a look at their other territories. Looks like they milked her to dry.”.

“Oh, those poor people,” he said.

"Yes. Makes North Korea look good in comparison. These Parpaldians look strange. I don't want any of us stuck in there.”

“Ya, reasonable. What about untouched land over Alaska? Wait, it makes me wonder: how is Alaska still cold, but the states above it have great weather?

Lee shrugged his shoulders. “I... can't remember. You can find Dr. Pollan's at NASA if you're really interested, but I think it's because of the current. Something about being lucky with the cold current despite its lower latitude here in Elysia compared to Earth. And I will not really go to that untouched land. Untouched by humans, or elves, or anything. But they're full of monsters and stuff. We can read Topa Kingdom file as a bedtime story if you want, ”saran Lee.

“Ehh..”.

Before Mary could answer, Lee's phone rang. "Can I not rest" he murmured as he checked his phone, looking for the caller's identity. "Oh ..." He picked up the phone and said, "What's wrong?"

He listened to the man on the other end speak, receiving new information.

Mary looked at President Lee's expression. "Is this urgent, Tommy?"

"Yes" Lee sighed. "I'll be back in a minute."

"Okay baby" he said.

Lee got up and walked towards the beach - away from the other party-goers - to discuss the new situation in person. "So," she spoke to her phone, the sound of the waves echoing in the background. “Gra Valka Empire, huh? It is strange how two countries have been called: our own and theirs. Is there any more?”

“To our knowledge,” Steven said by phone, “Not yet. The captured spies were quite helpful in accidentally revealing information; they were quite arrogant and boasted about the prowess of their technology. We know that the Gra Valkas Empire, which is a large continental region with large amounts of atmospheric pollutants, originated from a planet known as Yggdra. There, they were the main superpowers. It seems that conquest is the name of their game, and they have applied the same concept from Yggdra to Elysia, conquering the nearest primitive countries and even challenging the local superpower, known as Leifor.”

“Definitely a tiring war,” said Lee.

“Instead, Mr. President. The Leiforians surrendered after a ship very similar to the Yamato-class battleships bombarded their capital. Our local intelligence in the region is lacking, but we can see the Gra Valkan flag being hoisted in many Leiforian regions. This news was also corroborated by the report from our Mu fellow at Esthirant. Smaller bombardments and bombings have been reported, likely due to the resistance group.”

“It sounds. What else do we know about this faction?”

“In addition to the general level of their technology and economy, we know that they may have rules of war. According to the captured spies, the Gra Valkas Empire was a signatory of many international treaties, but their actions in Leifor showed that they had abandoned any treaties made in Yggdra. We should be able to find more information as Gra Valkas campaign progresses.”

President Lee kicked the sand while sighing. “So much pain in this world. We have to tell them that we will not accept such savage and savage crimes. That reminds me, how was the contact procedure?

“Still worked, Sir. Overseas are somewhat wary of establishing contact with an aggressive country like Gra Valkas. They are considering radio as an alternative means of official first contact and are currently drawing up plans and scenarios.”

“Alright, that's good. Shit, crazy how the local superpower fell in a day.”

"Of course, sir."

“Well, I have to go back to my wife. Oh, wait, how are the kids?”

President Lee smiled. "good. Now make sure they don't sleep too late. Always give me new information."

"I will, Sir."

Holy Milishial Empire

Specific Bars in Cartalpas

Located along the southern coast of the Holy Milishial Empire, Cartalpas was an important trading center. Positioned almost literally at the center of the world (as far as the inhabitants of the Central Continent are concerned) and in the densely populated strait, Cartalpas is also a cultural and information center. The city skyline reflects this, with bright skyscrapers stretching into the sky. Magical lights illuminated the streets in numbers and elegance that matched what is currently considered to be the greatest superpower in Elysia.

Throughout Cartalpas, one bar in particular was quite popular among merchants and the corporate community. Agents from large corporations and traveling merchants settled in these bars whenever they were in the city, as these bars were also frequented by the most knowledgeable and talkative men. The sheer whispers spoken in these bars can make a company fall and the market collapse, or provide insights that can generate innumerable fortunes.

One sensitive topic is about the downfall of Leifor. On the colored magic screen — another reflection of the magical superiority Milishial — an Elf reporter spoke to the microphone. “I'm Alana Forlen, and welcome back to Milishial News Network. Here at MNN, we pride ourselves on being able to deliver you news almost as quickly as news happens! For today's story, we will see rumors from Leifor.”

The camera focused on the building behind him as he spoke. “I'm here at the Embassy of Leiforia in Runeopolis with Leiforia's ambassador, Horan Talmot. Mr. Talmot, the Central Continent is quite worried about the situation in the west. Who is this new enemy, and what exactly happened there?” He offered a microphone to men wearing luxurious Victorian-era clothing.

Horan put on a grim expression—which was suitable for a man who had just lost his house. “The rumors you heard about Leifor's death are true. This new enemy, the Eighth Empire or the Gra Valkas Empire or whatever they called themselves, was a scourge. Like savages, they descend upon the defenseless island nation in the west, conquering them without regard to our relationship with the island nation. We failed to maintain our vassals and protectorates; the Gra Valkas Empire was too powerful! They annihilated the fleet and the wyvern lord we sent to intercept with just one ship, then proceeded to destroy the capital. Our imperial palace was targeted and His Imperial Majesty was unable to escape. He and his family were killed, along with thousands more who were unlucky enough to be captured by their indiscriminate attacks.

“I'm so sorry to hear that, Mr. Talmot. What will happen to Leifor himself?”

“With the Emperor gone and no clear line of succession, we have little choice. Our general wanted to coordinate the resistance efforts against the fleet of landing craft that soon followed, and one of them was successful. However, the trash was simply throwing away miles of habitation along the coast. Thousands of innocent people died, along with our valiant warriors who never even had a chance to attack. After that incident, it was decided that we should just give up, lest more of our citizens suffer this injustice.”

“So what will you do now?”

“Unfortunately, with the loss of my country, I have no job.” He shrugged his shoulders. "I guess I'll ask some colleagues if there's anything I can do to support myself."

As the television interview withdrew from the topic of Leifor and focused on the details of the Gra Valkas Empire, the merchants began to discuss. The room exploded into chatter when a confused customer received the news that Leifor, the superpower, had lost to an unknown barbarian state in one day, due to one ship. After a few minutes, a beer-bellied man stood up and loudly declared, "Does anyone know anything about this Gra Valkas Kingdom?"

The bar became silent as a man in black clothes stood up, his clothes signifying him as Mu National. "Yes. I was in Leifor signing a deal for my company; we bought the God of Wind Tears for trial purposes. While we were in the company's testing waters, we heard some loud explosions heading out into the open ocean, where we saw the knights and wyverns leave early. We felt a bit dangerous, so we hid behind a small bay. Then, we saw the ship.”

The drunken traders leaned back, full of anticipation.

The businessman Muan was holding his drink. Speaking with disbelief and an inability to understand what he had seen, he described the vessel. “It was large, much larger than La Kasami , which could be considered a battle ship comparable to the battleships of the Holy Milishial Empire. But this other ship, it's like a SUPER fighter ship . The cannon was very large, probably of a calibre close to 50 centimeters. His speed was also ridiculous for such a large ship, but not unrealistic. I spoke with some analysts from the company and they thought that Mu and the Holy Milishial Kingdom might be able to produce such a ship in the near future.

A confused Protector asked, “When you say in the near future, how many years are you talking about?”

Muan shrugged his shoulders. “One decade maybe?”

“So... you mean, the Gra Valka Kingdom, at least in terms of shipbuilding, is more advanced than the two biggest superpowers in the Middle Continent?”

“Yeah, not necessarily. We theorized that we could build such a ship, albeit at great cost. They most likely only had one of these super weapons. Still, the overall design sophistication is worrisome.”

A new voice chimed in: a man in Napoleon's clothes. "The talk of these unrealistic and disproportionate calling countries is quite dizzying, isn't it?"

The beer man replied, "What do you mean?"

“Gra Valkas is not the only nation called. In the great east, passing through Rodenius, there was a country known as the United States. I myself have never visited their lands, but I have heard of their achievements. The fleet of three thousand Lourian ships surrendered to only five ships and several dozen planes, which also moved faster than sound.

"Fast lightning?" Muan said, shocked. "Did they use magic?"

The parmaldian shook his head. “Perhaps, but all the sources I spoke of claim that they are pure mechanical countries, have no exposure to magic in their home world.” He then took out a watch and offered it to Muan, who analyzed it in surprise. "I have the luxury of doing business with their company, and my paradise is their high-quality product."

Muan raised his eyebrows, making an impressed face as he nodded. “Why, you are really honest. This workmanship... very precise!”

“And not only that,” added Parpaldian, “They have an amazing science that is unknown to the world. I was in Esthirant when their fleet arrived, and let me tell you, the Gra Valkas Kingdom is no match for them. They might be able to swipe Leifor's wyvern, but an American iron dragon? I doubt that."

While visitors to the bar discussed the implications of the emergence of the summoned countries, news of these so-called "barbaric" countries spread. Doubts proliferate, with many dismissing these stories as untrustworthy rumors and rumors, but no one can dispute the effects these countries left on Elysia. A question that remains is then left in everyone's mind: if these countries are called, then why?
