Here's my. Passing through the snowy bushes and mounds that kept blocking my way. I can't believe the roads in this forest are so hard. I can't believe I left home and my mother. Though, just a few minutes after I left it, now I miss it.
The forest I was passing through was so tight and full. I had to jump, tilt and subdue my body to pass through all the crossbar barriers. I often use magic to create new paths. If I were a mother, I would just have to walk straight and let all the bushes and trees penetrate my body.
All I see here is white and snow. That's only natural, because my house is right at the end of the Frozen Line.
The end of the Frozen Line is the name for the group of small states north of Orelum. In total there are five countries, including the State of Bordam I live in. The countries here have colder climates than the rest of Orelum, as well as near-perpetual snowy weather. This condition is related to its geographical characteristics. Throughout the northern region, not a single mountain or mountain range existed to withstand the cold winds of the Frozen Sea.
However, for thousands of years, people here have been accustomed to living in extreme environments. They are constantly evolving and adapting.
My steps grew heavier as the snow land I was treading thickened. Under the pine tree, I leaned back and rested for a moment. It turns out this isn't as easy as it looks.
I took out a pelples I brought, then I warmed the water with magic in both hands. “Maybe I'll write just a little,” my murmur.
I buried my warm pelples in the snow before I put them back in the bag. I pulled the wings of the robe to cover me. Then, I picked up a book with a brown cover in a sling bag. With a taper-tipped gold pen, I wrote the words to start the start page. Inside this pen, it was already filled with liquid ink. So, I don't have to bother myself to use the ink container continuously.
“The first day I traveled.
It's not far from home yet, but I've missed it sooner.
I rested first before continuing.
I hope, I can find something interesting after passing through this forest.”
I think that's enough. I also left again. I left a trail under the tree without erasing it, so that whoever found it would recognize its trail and become a story.
When I was tired and tired of all these same scenes that surrounded me, I found an interesting little movement. A pair of long ears poked out from behind the snow mound in front of me.
I managed to notice it even though it was faintly colored like snow. I tiptoed slowly without making any sound. Stepping quietly and carefully, as if I was a wolf finding its prey.
Just a step away I intend to jump and pounce on him, but the tiny creature actually appeared to him first casually.
“Hey, it's you!” myrag. I crawled up and approached the white rabbit. “We met a moment ago, do you remember?” I asked him as if I were talking to a human.
The rabbit jumped near me. He seemed to be unawares when he first met. I feel like the rabbit is starting to like me. I grabbed her body and held her like a little baby.
I buried my fingers in his warm thick fur. True to my shadow, the rabbit was very soft and supple. It's like a hairy pillow. I carried her attentively, but it seemed that the rabbit did not like her very much. The rabbit kicked me in the stomach with its hind legs and landed on the ground.
“Hei! It hurts to know!” my annoyance.
Did that rabbit just mock me? I chased him into a bigger forest.
The more I chased after the rabbit, I heard a growling sound that filled the void of the forest. The growl became clearer and made my neck shudder.
On a fallen tree trunk, there was a black-haired creature that was much larger in size than a snow rabbit. The sound of the growling came from him. It is gripping and full of vile aroma. His black claws were all along the blade, gripping the tree trunk very firmly. I'm not interested in burying my fingers in his coarse black fur.
The creature seemed to be busy with something. He stuck his head in a hole in a tree trunk the size of my head. As he lifted his head, it appeared a long snout full of sharp fangs and fresh blood. His eyes were as red as flowing blood.
It had a wolf-like body, yet stood on both feet like a human. In his left hand, he gripped the body of a white rabbit that had been torn apart. I suppressed my nausea as I watched the rabbit's entire organs and blood stain the white snow.
The monster realized my existence. Now, he looked at me with his bloodthirsty gaze. In the distance that was getting closer, I knew that the monster was 2 times higher than my mother.
I'm shaking. But I have to move my body. As the creature aimed its claws, I quickly summoned my magic wand and created an ice crystal that flew straight through its heart. I think the creature's dead. He was lying next to me with a hole in his chest.
I stared poorly at the creature. This is the first time I've killed a living creature with my own two hands. Although his body looked like a terrible monster, but he was still an innocent living creature.
A Vulkoliak was created as a result of magical interference. Mother said, there is a magic that is able to transform the human body. This Vulkoliac was previously an ordinary human just like me, yet there was an evil sorcerer who turned him into a bloodthirsty creature.
Although the shape is the same, Vulcoliak is not like the Wolf Man born from consuming the poisonous plant Wolfsbane. The werewolf can still return to its human form, but the Vulcoliac is not. The Wolf Man still had his full consciousness, while the Vulkoliak was more brutal and violent. This creature acts only with its wild instincts.
Even so, I don't want to die either. I was not a naive person when a monster that was once human tried to attack me. I realized that if I wanted to get out of my comfortable home, I had to survive and be ready to face dangerous things. I don't care what that person's fate was like before, I just want to live and make my own dreams come true.
I swung my wand to hoard the body of the Vulcoliak with a pile of snow. “Sorry, for all the misfortune that befell you.”
I made her her final resting place. This is the only thing I can do.
Not far from there, the white rabbit I chased seemed to sniff out the body of another rabbit that was already shapeless. There was another rabbit in the hole that bled to death. Now I get it. The two dead rabbits were his family.
The white rabbit seemed to be asking me to help them. He has been guiding me since I was home. But I was too late to realize his intentions. “Sorry, little rabbit.”
Maybe this is what I mean about the dangers in the outside world. Nature takes over and everything goes according to her will. Predators will prey on creatures weaker than him and become rulers. The weak were oppressed and hid in the shadows. Destiny runs on every living creature. Meanwhile, I'm just an ordinary girl following that fate. I can't change it for my own sake.
I left the rabbit bemoaning the fate of his family. He is alone now, just like me. But we have a different fate. I will not judge what path the rabbit will choose in this cruel world. He may just sit there waiting for his family to wake up or continue to live his life in solitude. He can't use magic like me to fight, but he has agile legs to dodge danger. I could have taken him on a trip, but I don't think that's what fate would have wanted for a rabbit.
I left the rabbit like I left my mother. I won't look back for him. Cause I know, it's gonna keep me stuck on this trip.
