Farewell

In a moment, I will reach my next destination. It felt like just yesterday I left home and now I am miles away from my comfortable bed at the end of a cliff.

My next destination is Elifhiar State. There are no festive and warm celebrations from this place, I'm just curious about the scattered ruins. There may be past messages stored behind artifacts and relics in the place. I wonder because of it.

Edras stopped his horse when he arrived at the small guard house. Surrounded by huge trees and shrubs, the guardhouse looked rickety and neglected, but since there was a light burning, there must be people there. The light of the lanterns in the guardhouse was dim and so was the smile of the old guard who appeared from inside and greeted us. “There can I help you, ladies and gentlemen?” I don't even know, how can there still be guards in this empty land?

Edras looked at me confusedly. “You didn't come down?”

“Oh, yes, I forgot. Sorry, I just daydreamed.” I jumped off that train too. “Wait a minute,” I shouted to the old guard.

“Hey, are you okay?” ask the man worried. I was just as worried about myself.

“It's hard to leave a comfortable place. It's the second time I've felt like that since I left home,”.

“During your trip, you will feel the same way. Therefore, you must hold.”

“Please, come with me,”

“Sorry, I want to but I can't. I have to accompany my father here.”

“Then, can we meet again?”

“Yes! Sure was! I'm here to welcome you home.”

“When you see my mom, tell her I'm fine. He told her you were my first friend, and I helped the townspeople celebrate. The townspeople are very kind to me, so I don't have to worry. I finally got my first letter. Tell him I still miss him. Can you tell that to my mom?”

The man nodded and smiled gently. “Wait a minute. I have one more gift for you.” Edras took something from his pants pocket. A small star shaped brooch. “This, so that you can remember me and remember the citizens of the city.”

I waved my hand and threw my smile as the horse pulled the carriage away from me. My eyes swelled up and tears seemed to burst into my face. It was like leaving my mother for the second time. I'm gonna miss them all.

Oh my goodness .. I forgot to thank Edras again for everything he did to me. I am so grateful to have met a man as good as him. I had a lot of trouble that I should have been able to give him a gift that was worth it. I really suck.

He has gone. Two of the best people in my life, stay away from me and get further and further away. Now it's just me and the guard who took care of the guardhouse. The guard's face looked very wrinkled, especially as he smiled at me and showed his toothless teeth.

“There can I help miss?” the man's voice sounded like the sound of an old door whose hinges were rusty.

“I don't know if there's anyone here? Hasn't this place been uninhabited for a long time,” I immediately asked my question that had made me curious.

“While this land is empty, it does not mean that no one is guarding it,”.

“Ya already.” Without thinking about it any further, I also showed my letters proudly. “I want to visit Elifhiar!”

“Visiting? It's been a while since Elifhiar nobody visited, not even before I was born. What business do I have if I can know?”

“Nothing, I just want to look around then go to the next country.”

“Alright, but remember miss, Elifhiar is not a place to travel especially for a girl like you.” The guard then handed back the letters that he did not even see.
