Chapters 20. Not the Driver, but the CEO

Chapter 20

Early in the morning Daniel and Sandra ate at the restaurant where their hotel was staying. They both seemed to enjoy the food at the table. When they were busy eating croissants there was someone who made the attention of the woman distracted.

"Uncle Damian what is he doing here?" sandra asked muttering, but could be heard by her husband.

Daniel looked at his wife, and Damian was sitting not far from them. Now he's convinced that the man from last night was Damian.

'It turns out he's an enemy in a blanket. But, why did he have an accident when he just returned from abroad? Is it just for camouflage not to be suspected? For what, instead the Li family was involved in the Black Eyes group. Or was it just Damian who was involved in the group? The more things I know about their group, the more it makes my head ache at the thought of all this, Daniel.

"Sandra?" 

Daniel and Sandra turned their heads toward the source of the sound. Daniel's eyes squinted, he knew this man was also at the party last night. Yeah, he's the one who talked to Damian. 

"Uncle Arthur. Uncle is here too? Then whose grandfather is there?" ask Sandra.

This was the first time Daniel met Arthur's second son Jimmy Li. All this time he was looking through photos. This man's face is very different from the one seen in the photo. You could say photogenic because it is younger and handsome in the photo when compared to the original.

"Grandfather is now conscious and there are doctors and nurses who take care of him. It just so happens that uncle is having important business here" replied Arthur.

Damian saw them and came to Daniel's table. He looked down at Daniel as usual.

"What are you doing here with the driver?" ask Damian scoffing.

Sandra was caught off guard by the word of the driver coming out of her family's mouth. He also regretted that he often mocked Daniel as a driver as if to demean the male profession.

"Uncle, he's my husband! Don't insult her anymore" Sandra said.

A mocking smile was still etched on Damian's face. He's still upset that Daniel got the mandate to hold the company by Jimmy Li. His father's private driver is in the same power as Leon, Jimmy Li's oldest son in the company. 

Daniel and Arthur just glanced at each other in silence. There are no words of ado between the two.

"Originally Uncle knows, yeah. Now this he's no longer a driver, but he's the CEO he's the Qing company!" sandra continued with pride and wanted to make her uncle die of lice and not insult her husband anymore.

Damian's eyes widened to hear Sandra's words. He did hear that Qing's company, which was starting to rise to the surface, became one of the targets of investors because it had a new CEO who was very competent. 

'There may be a person who is being talked about among young entrepreneurs. He was just a driver all along, how could he be a reliable businessman? Damian's inner self is increasingly upset with Daniel because he feels his father's driver holds many secrets.

Daniel also found out the Li family's involvement in the Black Eyes group. It turns out that Jimmy Li was never involved with their group, except after Peter's request for the factory. So did Leon who had never been involved before with their group.

Nathan's job is getting more and more at Daniel's request. If for these three days Daniel had fun with Sandra, then he was busy with finding information about the Li family's involvement with the underworld.

"Why?" daniel asked when he saw Sandra look limp.

"I feel like I still want to sleep," the woman replied as she leaned against Daniel's arm.

"You can sleep on the plane later" Daniel said, wiping his wife's head.

"It felt like my stomach was nauseous" Sandra said softly.

"At the end of the day the plane will leave. Be patient" the man replied and took his woman into a warm embrace.

Daniel immediately took Sandra to the hospital because she looked very weak. He even had to carry it when he got off the plane. The doctor on the plane said that his wife Daniel was experiencing symptoms of pregnancy.

"Congratulations, Madam is currently pregnant" said the obstetrician who examined Sandra.

"So, really my wife is pregnant right now, Doc?" ask Daniel to convince himself.

"Yes, Sir. The age of the fetus is only four weeks, so it should be taken care of carefully, yes," the doctor replied with a sweet smile.

Sandra cried happily while touching her stomach. Finally, there was also a next generation for the Li family. She was happy to have a child with Daniel. Though it was her dream to have a child with Ronald, but now the feeling has been replaced by this husband. I don't know since when the feeling of love in his heart was present for Daniel. Whether it was after the kidnapping or before, he did not remember. The thing he was feeling right now was that this love for the man holding next to his hand was truly sincere.

The news of Sandra's pregnancy makes Leon and Sindy happy, because in this way Daniel will lose the rights to Li's family property. Although the seed of the man who became their grandson was not a problem. For them saving the family's wealth was more important.

"You take good care of the Li family's future successor" Leon told Daniel.

"You better stay in this house again" Sindy told Daniel and Sandra.

Daniel becomes worried because he is currently preoccupied with the investigation of the Black Eyes group, while there is Damian living in this house. Moreover, he would not be free to organize his work as well.

Sandra is happy to be alone with Daniel without anyone else. However, he did not know how to deal with her who was pregnant young later. He will need the help of others.
