Please Look At Me!

Please Look At Me!
Chapter 6's

Erina glanced at Alan who was busy chatting with his other classmates. He noticed how friendly the man was to others, except with him and Gideon. He did not yet know for sure what made the two less familiar, but he did not have the courage to ask the reason behind the faint aura of hostility created between the two.

Lately the more he hated the man, the more he often noticed the man's movements. Surprisingly every time their eyes met, he immediately turned his gaze elsewhere. He looked down more often as soon as their gazes met. Maybe the man realized that he was being noticed by her so that the man stared back at her.

"Why are you looking around, huh?" he asked once the children who were swarming around him had already left and only left him and Erina.

The girl rolled her lazy eyes upon hearing the question asked by the man. He pretended not to hear the question. He chose to put his head and arms on his desk, close his eyes, and fall asleep. He didn't want to discuss it with the annoying guy next to him right now.

Alan sniffed his shoulders as soon as he got no answer from Erina who seemed to have fallen asleep. He put his head on the table with both arms focused on his head. He turned his back to Erina who had fallen asleep first, then fell asleep afterwards.

Gideon stared intently at the two. It was not that he did not realize that lately Erina often secretly noticed the man next to her. The girl has also been chatting with him lately less often considering that the two sometimes fight for something that is not important at all. But he likes it.

"Why do you think they're like that?" tanya Deo was confused by her fellow countryman.

"It's okay," said Gideon who did not answer the question posed by Deo.

"You like Erina, don't you?" her tanyanya teased Gideon who was currently staring at Erina who was still asleep.

"No," he argued, turning his eyes to the girl.

He was comfortable and a little interested in the girl. He did not want to say that his feeling of attraction to Erina was a feeling of liking. He wants to think of it as just a feeling of interest, nothing more.

Deo nodded his head after hearing the stern rebuttal said by the man. He also did not really care about the man's feelings. Moreover, Erina did not seem to be so interested in him.

***

The girl again glanced silently towards Alan who was sitting next to her. It's still lesson time, so no kids usually swarm around that guy. I don't know why he was so often looking at the man as if he was addicted to just staring at the man next to him.

"Would you like to say something?" alan asked who was busy doing his duty, more precisely copying his friend's property into his book for him to collect for a while.

Erina fell silent, she did not want to answer the question asked by the man. Just as usual, he pretended to know nothing and pretended never to secretly glance at the man. The relationship between the two is still not good, but also not worse. The two of them were probably my completely unfamiliar and least intimate fellow students from everyone in their class who was also sitting down.

Both are like oil and water so different and cannot be put together. The atmosphere around the two is still so awkward to just chat as usual like my countrymen, or maybe like classmates. Either because of high prestige or indeed both hate each other until like there is an invisible distance stretching widely between the two until now.

"I know how you've been seeing me lately" Alan said with a still focused gaze on the task he was copying.

"You have a crush on me?" ask Alan.

The man stopped writing and raised his face. He looked towards Erina who was focusing on the blackboard at the moment. The girl was still pretending to know nothing. He pretended not to hear the question that the man had just asked.

"Silence means yes."

The girl stared in disbelief at the man. He did not believe the one-sided conclusion that the man beside him had just made. He couldn't believe what he had just heard.

Not just him. Gideon, who had been watching the two, did not believe what he had just heard. The man's grip on his pen hardened so much that he was shocked by what he had just heard.

CTAKK.....

All eyes were immediately on Gideon who was sitting on the very back bench in the classroom. No exception to teachers who are teaching at this time. All were shocked by the sound of the pen breaking within the man's grasp at this moment.

"Gideon!" reprimand the teacher.

"Wooy!"

Deo nudged the man. He really seemed so surprised that he was not aware of the situation that was the center of attention at the moment. Deo continued to nudge the man next to him so that he would come to his senses and at least stared back at the teacher who was staring at him at the moment.

"I-yes," said the man after waking up from his shock.

"You're messing around when I teach, huh?"

"No, ma'am."

"Get out!"

No further objections. The man obeyed the teacher's order to get out of the classroom. He didn't want to cause any trouble today.

His heart has been pounding ever since. His chest cavity felt pain. He held onto his chest which was painful after hearing what Alan had just said to Erina. The thing that surprised him more was that there was no rebuttal he had heard from the girl's mouth, even until he had walked out of class.

It's not that he doesn't know what he's feeling right now. But he still wants to deny it. He did not want to admit his feelings for the girl because he thought the girl was very incompatible with the criteria of the girl he liked. He did not want to admit it yet, but he did not want the girl to be with anyone else. Let's say he's selfish, because he is.
