Ch 2 - Decision

“Bentara Well, how suddenly there is a matchmaking gini why ?” tanya Syabil asked for an explanation.

“Iya Pa! how come gini suddenly ? it was said just silaturrahmi aja!” alpha protests too.

Both of their parents smiled, they had predicted that their child would protest about this. But this matchmaking plan has been around since they were kids and maybe they don't remember.

Syabil gestured for Alfa to reject this matchmaking, she still did not want to get married given their very young age. Alfa actually still does not want to get married but see both her parents who want it and maybe it's best for her to try to think first.

“You know for yourself today what the association is, Mama sure Alfa can take care of you, and maybe you do not remember you first close to Alfa.” explained Icha.

Syabil fell silent, he tried to recall his childhood memories but to no avail, is it true that he and Alfa were so close once.

“Cracks anyway Ma ?”

“Yes you used to stay at our house, even you always follow Alfa!” added Rian.

“You can think about it and we hope you agree, we will talk about it later for the agreement after that.” said Irfan who tried to give his son time.

“Yuk eat first, I'm ready!” bring Icha.

They all went straight to the dining room, as they were already hungry. Syabil and Alfa remained silent at the thought of their sudden match. Their parents were busy chatting after eating in the family room while watching television. Alfa and Syabil decided to talk in the living room about their matchmaking. Alfa and Syabil are still silent no one took the initiative to start a conversation, inevitably syabil who started it.

“Alfa what do you think about this matchmaking ?” ask syabil.

“I also don't know Bil, my parents want it that way, want to refuse ya how..”

“But the Fa, we are still in school, what do friends and teachers say later ?” ask Syabil who is still protesting.

“Kan can be kept secret When.” said Alfa casually

Syabil was immediately silent, it could have been kept secret but he still felt not ready if he had to marry at the age of 17 years. When he watched Alfa intensely, he could judge Alfa a good person, although very firm, his face was also handsome, sholeh, his body was also tall. Alfa and Syabil are almost one year old, Alfa is actually older than Syabil, Syabil has a cute face and a small body that makes her look very young.

The next day at school Syabil could not stop thinking about what decision he would take, his mother had asked him to pray Istikharah every night and he had done. Every now and then he daydreams in class, Intan his countryman immediately reprimands by patting him on the shoulder.

“Eh what is Tan ?” syabil asked when he was aware of his daydream.

“What are you daydreaming about ? still a lesson nih.” asked Intan with a soft voice afraid of the teacher's astonishment.

“Hehe, sorry.”

During the break Syabil and his two friends had lunch in the cafeteria, while eating they were chatting, again Syabil was seen thinking of something, his two curious friends immediately asked him, he said,

“You why Bil from earlier daydreaming continuously ?” ask Riri.

“Eh there is nothing Ri.” replied Syabil who tried to hide.

“Alah story Bil, kayak same anyone.” added Intan.

Syabil seemed to think, could the two friends keep a secret if he told me, but he believed in them because all this time when he confided, he said, they always listen with pleasure and never tell anyone even give advice or opinions.

“Yaudah deh, later after school I tell you, but promise don't tell me who is ?”

“Iya deh sure, we promise will not say bad luck-who.” answered his two friends.

Syabil is happy to have friends like them. Not long after Alfa and Andi passed by them, Alfa glanced briefly at Syabil who was chatting with his two friends and ordered food for lunch. Syabil was still not aware of the presence of Alfa sitting on the bench behind him, Intan who was sitting facing Syabil saw Alfa reacting immediately,

Syabil spontaneously turned his head back, and he saw Alfa was eating meatballs and next to her was his best friend Andi,

“Emang can't ya ? you guys who never saw me in the canteen.” replied Alfa cuek.

“Huh, yes yes. We never see because our ketos are super busy.” timpal Intan again.

Alfa did not reply to Intan's response and continued to eat, while Syabil was just silent, she felt awkward when there was an Alpha, probably because she was betrothed to him. Because it was too awkward Syabil took his two best friends back to class.

Syabil briefly looked at Alfa who smiled slightly at him, Syabil's face spontaneously flushed and immediately turned his face away. Alfa who noticed Syabil's expression immediately gave a small smile. Andi who was next to him was astonished by the expression that Alfa showed.

“Why do you Fa ?” ask Andi.

“Nothing, not yet ? come back.” invite Alfa

After school Intan and Riri collect Syabil's promise to tell her the problem, after a quiet class Syabil starts telling her about the problem. Syabil tells about her parents' decision to marry her to someone.

“Ha ? who is Bil ?” asked Riri who was surprised.

“Ehm, same Ketos that.” replied Syabil by cupping his face with both hands.

“Ha ? the same as Alpha ? sure you ?” ask Intan who was shocked as well.

“Iya, why would I lie too.”

Riri and Intan fell silent, they did not expect that Syabil would be married to Ketos who was famously fierce and determined. Those who always have problems when dealing with it.

“Keep when do you give an answer ?” ask Riri.

“In the near future anyway.”

“Hmm.. You have to think carefully Bil, you yourself know which is best for you.” said Intan.

“Iya thanks a lot you guys already want to listen to my curhatan.” Syabil said with a smile

Arriving at the house Syabil saw his mother was talking on the phone and looked very happy, he accidentally eavesdropped was chatting with aunt Fira. Syabil has been told that his mother and Aunt Fira have been friends since college so they are very familiar. Seeing the familiarity of their parents he did not have the heart to refuse his match with Alpha.

That night Syabil tried Istikharah prayer again hoping he would get answers and steadfastness. A few days later he made a decision, at breakfast he tried to talk to his Mom and Dad.

“Well I want to say..” said Syabil

“Iya say son, what's up ?” ask Irfan.

“As for my matchmaking with Alfa, I decided to accept it.” Syabil said steadily.

The faces of Irfan and Icha look cheerful and sumringah, ‘Alhamdulillah.’ that they pronounced together.

“Finally, just later Mama kabarin Fira and ask them to come later tonight.” said Icha with enthusiasm.

“Mama great spirit anyway.” said Ari.

Syabil smiled seeing his parents happy, he decided to accept an arranged marriage with Alfa as a form of devotion to both parents.
