Don't Give Up

Despite having to face the fact that his father did not want to finance his school money anymore and had thrown it away, it did not make Jansen slump or anything. He returned to the classroom before Elena came. He will not mourn his fate because nothing will change.

Elena who had come also seemed satisfied because Jansen was in the classroom according to her words. Very nice but the young man looked moody and uninspired. I don't know what he thought, Jansen seemed pensive but that doesn't mean he didn't listen to what was being taught. It has been five years sitting in college of course has made him memorize all the lessons out of his head. All he needs to do is be nice not to be expelled and he will graduate with the best grades, of course, all that he does not need to show because he wants to be like other students.

He did it not for his father to be proud but for himself. In order for no one to know especially his stepmother and Richard, he would pretend to be a foolish and useless man. He already knew what he had to do but he would pretend like a loser.

Hours after the lesson was over, the students flocked out of the class. Elena tidied up the book and removed the blackboard because after this there would be other lecturers teaching in the classroom. Elena removed the top with difficulty but Jansen who saw it immediately helped because she was still not out of class.

Elena was shocked as Jansen stood behind her and held her busy hand wiping off the blackboard.

"What are you doing?" Elena asked as quietly as possible.

"Help you, what else?"

"Don't get too close!" Elena hurriedly withdrew her hand then stepped away. Do not let anyone see and misunderstand the closeness of those who do not have any relationship.

"After I'm done I don't go home!" jansen.

"Where are you going? Don't make a fuss!"

"No, I'm looking for a job. I have to find him because from now on, I have to pay my own tuition!"

"What's? So your dad doesn't want to pay for your tuition anymore?" Elena turned, looking towards the young man who was still busy cleaning the blackboard.

"Yeah, he just came and talked to me. He said if he hands off from now on and doesn't want to pay my tuition anymore. He said it because he doesn't want me anymore!" although he knew his father did not care, but it felt a little sad because his father really did not care about him anymore especially his father really loved Richard and praised him frankly without caring about his feelings.

"So your father came to say that?" Elena returned to tidying up the book that was almost finished.

"No. Not all dads are like that, Jansen. It's possible that your father said so and deliberately abused you for a purpose. We don't know what he's thinking, do we? Maybe your dad was being tough and saying spicy words so you could change. Everything he did was probably to tempt you whether you could or not. I'm sure your father isn't as bad as you think he is" Elena said. He believes that Bob Howard is not as cruel as Jansen said, he believes that Bob Howard still cares about his son because if Bob does not care, it is impossible for the man to ask for his help to educate Jansen.

"Why do you say that? He always praised Richard and made me hurt!"

"You know what, Jansen?" Elene pulled the chair and sat down, her eyes not turning away from Jansen who was looking at her.

"I don't think those words are to make you hurt!" elena said again.

"You mean?"

"Let's look at it from the good side regardless that your father doesn't care about you or not. Your father always prides Richard in front of you, he did it because he wanted you to be angry and then you didn't take it with his words so you tried to change and prove to your father that you can surpass Richard who he's always been proud of. Sometimes those words have a purpose. Words that are spoken gently are not necessarily educational but spicy words even though they are painful but from those words you can make motivation. Instead of you being hurt and harboring disappointment in your father, you better make every word to rise up. You can take the good side of every word he says and show your father even to everyone who has underestimated you if you can even without your father's help!"

"But it's not easy!" jansen.

"Don't give up before the war, Jansen. No one can be successful in one night, prove if you are capable and the first step you have to do is, finish this lecture immediately. You've been stuck on this campus for too long and you're the one who's made people underestimate you so now prove it if you can!"

"I know, thank you for your advice!"

"Good!" Elena was done so she walked out of the classroom so that no one would see them and thought they were doing something wrong. The people who hate Jansen so much, they can say anything to bring Jansen down so they better be alert.

Jansen is still in his place. Whether this is a lucky break or not, he is very lucky to meet Elena when he is a new lecturer who suddenly cares about her. Until now she was still curious about Elena's figure because she was quite mysterious.

As Elena said, she must indeed take wisdom from every word spoken by her father. Five years he's wasted just trying to get his father's attention but the results are the same but now, he'll prove that in five years' time, he will become a successful man and prove to his father that he is not a useless child like his father thought but where should he start?

Jansen took a cell phone, to contact someone. He will start from the bottom first and when the time comes later, after he graduated then he made a breakthrough. For now just let the enemy think if he was just trash because this way, the enemy would think if they had won. Anne and Richard, he'll definitely kick her in when the time comes.
