CHAPTER 23. LIGHTS OUT
At night in Nabila's apartment, to calm her mixed feelings. The girl chose to focus on reading the book, not to forget she also made her favorite chocolate milk.
It's been almost two hours since Nabila learned. But honestly he was not really focused, sometimes he still re-thought by Nando.
The concentration he painstakingly gathered, was actually interrupted by the sound of his phone ringtone. Nabila had turned it on, because she thought Gabriel had stopped bothering her. But he seems to be just too hopeful.
“Jeez this guy.actually what he wants Sih” grumbled Nabila and received the call.
[Halo— HEY NABILA! WHO ARE YOU GOING WITH TODAY, HUH?! HOW DARE YOU BE WITH ANOTHER MAN WITHOUT MY CONSENT!]
By reflex Nabila kept the phone away from his ear, Gabriel's scream could have hurt his eardrum.
“Gabriel! Don't scream. You are this, is there not a day without being angry?!”
[QUICKLY ANSWER! WHO WERE YOU WITH?!]
“Don't set me up, it's none of your business.” Answer Nabila in a cold tone.
[YOU FORGOT? I'M YOUR FIANCEE STUPID!]
“Who do you call stupid, huh?!”
[MUCH TALK! QUICKLY ANSWER ME!]
Nabila who felt angry also decided to end the call. He didn't care if Gabriel would come here, nor would he open the door for him.
He thinks Gabriel is getting possessive when he agrees to help him, and that makes him feel uncomfortable.
His phone rang again, Nabila was angry. The man never gave up once, he again contacted Nabila when he had clearly rejected it.
“Looks like I could really go crazy!”
Nabila immediately turned off his phone, then threw it towards the sofa next to his study desk. He just wanted to be alone now, he didn't want to be bothered by anyone.
Because the clock has shown at 10 pm, Nabila intends to go to sleep immediately. He did not want to be late again to his campus.
When you are getting ready to go to sleep. Suddenly Nabila heard a knock from her apartment door, the girl was surprised because it was already very late. Plus it's drizzling out there.
“Who's coming here tonight, there's no way Gabriel.” He feels astonished.
The girl decided to look ahead at the guest. When he opened the door, he was shocked to see Gabriel in front of his eyes. The man actually came as he expected.
“Soaring!!”
Gabriel walked into the room Nabila without the purpose.The man seemed to observe the room decoration Nabila that looks aesthetic.
Gabriel observed every decoration that adorned the room. He sat in the chair that Nabila used to study, looking at some photos of Nabila attached there.
The man then stared intently at Nabila who was standing before him. Gabriel looked at the appearance of Nabila in pajamas.
“Come out now!! Who let you in?!”
“You dare to forbid me?!”
“Why should I be afraid? This is my home, so please be polite! I told you to come out now!”
“I won't leave before you answer my question!!” said Gabriel firmly.
“GABRIEL! Now you're out!”
Nabila tried to pull Gabriel's hand so that the man stood up from his chair. But suddenly the sound of thunder that was loud shocked the two of them, followed by the lights that came to die evenly.
“HEY! NABILA, WHY DID THE LIGHT DIE?! QUICKLY TURN ON!”
Gabriel who turned out to have a fear of the darkness, immediately ran towards Nabila and hugged her tightly. Nabila is hugged very tightly until it becomes short of breath.
“Gabriel! Let go of me!”
Seeing Gabriel who was so scared, it made Nabila laugh because she thought it was so funny. Gabriel's embrace tightened as the sound of thunder came back, the rain was falling more and more. Looks like a storm.
“NABILA! I really don't like it, yeah!!”
“Keep what should I do?” asked Nabila who was still holding back her laughter.
“DO ANYTHING, TAKE A FLASHLIGHT OR CANDLE!!”
“Yes yes well, but don't scream. My eardrum can break hearing it.”
Nabila also twisted his body, but Gabriel again hugged Nabila's waist from behind tightly. The big man seemed to be hiding behind the small body of Nabila.
“Where are you going? Don't go anywhere.”
“I want to take a phone, especially? I do not have a flashlight or candle here” replied Nabila by still walking towards his sofa.
As he remembered, he threw it here, but Nabila did not find it. He had already felt all over the soft surface of the sofa, with Gabriel holding him still of course. But that thing didn't meet either.
“Nabila, please don't joke! I can't stand dark.”
“Please let go first, so I can find my phone. I can't move if you keep hugging me like this”
Nabila was about to take off Gabriel's embrace in his stomach, but when he touched the man's hand. Nabila was even surprised, because the man's hands were so cold and sweaty.
“Hey, are you okay?” ask Nabila who feels wrong.
“Quick turn on something, I really can't stand it!!”
“I have nothing to turn on.” Answer her honestly.
Gabriel who heard it also felt increasingly weak, he could only hide his face behind the niche of Nabila's neck with a breath that sounded heavy.
Feeling sorry for her, Nabila finally relented. The girl led Gabriel to sit on her couch to calm down, while Gabriel never once took his hand off Nabila.
“Please your coat first, you can lie here. I will wait for you under” Nabila said by sitting on the floor.
At a glance Gabriel just kept silent and looked at Nabila faintly. He immediately took off his suit and threw it away. After that he again pulled Nabila to go up on the sofa with him.
“Gabriel, release!”
Gabriel hugged her back tightly, the man leaning between Nabila's shoulder and neck recess. Hugging Nabila like this, she somehow felt better. His breath was not as rough as before either.
But Nabila did not feel the same way, instead he felt uncomfortable because he hugged a man in the dark like this. Moreover, there is no lighting at all here. Outside was also the same, because indeed the entire city was extinguished due to the storm.
“Gabriel can release ak—“
“Shut up! This is my phone, you can use it” between Gabriel quickly.
‘You. Was Gabriel talking to me by calling you and not you anymore?’ —in Nabila.
Gabriel looks up. “Why silence? Quickly turn on the flashlight from that Phone”
“Iya good.”
Nabila received Gabriel's phone. When he turned it on, he saw the background of the phone screen was a photo of a mother with her son who looked very funny. When he had a smile, he did not know who this photo put by Gabriel. But obviously, they look very happy.
“Nabila, are you deaf? Quick turn. You want to kill me slowly?”
“Why do you know, if I really want to do it” said Nabila.
“Ck! You really don't want me to turn out to be” said Gabriel.
Somehow Gabriel's tone of voice sounded if he was feeling sad.
