CHAPTER 40

BRUMMM

Drake's car arrives and stops in front of the house with Lulu as the driver. They came down and entered the house without much talking.

As soon as they entered the living room, Terra and Joy stood up while staring suspiciously.

"Where have you been all night? Why is Lulu here with you?" Terra pulls Drake's collar.

However Lulu hurriedly stopped him, "Don't do that. Let him rest. Something happened last night and you didn't know it."

"Eh??"

Terra and Joy are only looking at Lulu as she escorts Drake to her room. The girl asked Drake to rest first.

"Finally, we got home. Brother take a break first."

"Hmm, thank you. You should go home and rest too. I'll take care of myself from here on out" Drake pulled the blanket.

He could not lie to himself that his body was very tired.

"Hm. Alright."

After driving Drake to his room, Lulu sat down with Terra. Joy was asked to play alone for a while.

"What's wrong?" Terra was already very curious.

Lulu was confused as to how to say it.

"Yesterday afternoon, I found Drake passed out at the mall where Luna worked."

Joy nodded, "She's my aunt who lives in America."

"Then, would he be okay if he went with them?" ask Lulu to worry.

"Just relax, Mr. Bluo and Ms. Flora are a young couple who have not had children. They'll take good care of Joy if she comes with them."

"They were good people and sided with Joy's parents. Take it easy" said the lawyer.

"Is that really Joy?"

"Aunt Flora is good, Uncle Bluo is not evil either. But if I go with them, what about Uncle Drake?"

"Drake, huh? I think he'll be fine and happy for you" Terra replied.

In Drake's room, some objects such as books, pens, table lamps, laptops, bear statues and some other small objects of table or closet decoration seemed to float uncontrollably.

He stood with his head down and his hands down. But the energy in the room increased drastically. All the floating items are getting more and more. Everything was circling around Drake's body.

In fact, the wardrobe and bed were rattling, moving as if they wanted to float along with other items.

Without a second thought, he ran out to check things out. Apparently all the things in Uncle Drake's house were moving. Even the floor of their house was shaking.

So while shouting an earthquake, he ran frantically towards Drake in his room

"Uncle! Uncle! There's an earthquake!!"

Arriving at the room, he sees Drake folding a blanket. Somehow the shock he felt earlier suddenly vanished just like that when he set foot in front of the room door.

"What's wrong?" Drake turned his head and asked casually.

"I just had an earthquake."

"Yes. For a moment, I felt the house shake. Even everything in the house was shaking. But, why is it just gone now, huh?" Joy thought hard.

The boy did not know, as he ran towards the top floor and shouted to call out to Drake, Drake's black eyes disappeared instantly. All the floating objects returned to their place quickly.

"Since then I have felt nothing. Maybe it's just your feelings."

"That's it..." Joy was confused.

Unintentionally, Joy sees a statue of a bear lying under the bed. If not wrong, shouldn't the statue be on a shelf? Could it be that it fell during the shock earlier?

"Uncle is still upset, isn't he? Judging from his calm demeanor now, it seemed like he had already forgotten about it...."

"Your uncle and aunt are waiting for your answer."

"Oh, I did, sorry. I didn't hear it" Joy grimaced as she scratched her head.

That afternoon, Arthur and the lawyer return with Flora and Bluo, Joy's family.

"How can I believe you're gonna take good care of Joy?" ask Drake.

The woman named Flora smiled, "It seems that master really cares about nieces. I thank you very much for that. During the loss of her parents and home, the master took care of Joy very well."

Joy nodded.

"But you calm down. I'm Brandon's brother, Joy's father. Anyway, if Joy is willing to come with us, we will take care of Joy like our own son" Flora said solemnly.

Seeing Flora's seemingly sincere expression, Drake felt a little calm.
