Between The Leongs

Between The Leongs
Secret

The sighting of Sabrina with a bruise left on her cheek lying weakly on top of the gurney became a scourge for anyone who saw it. The people closest to Sabrina. Mauricio was unable to hold back his tears as soon as he arrived, after being too busy to find information about Lucas' contacts because Lucas took Sabrina away last night.

He felt a great deal of guilt for what Sabrina had to go through. Though he was the first to witness the brutality, but, his body was riveted due to too much shock it was difficult to digest the other side of the reality of Sabrina's life. Sabrina's sacrifice all this time that she knew even turned out not to be the whole. He did not expect Sabrina all this time was still covering the original color of Amber.

As much as Sabrina's affection for her mother, though what Amber gave her throughout life was nothing more than wounds and traumas. Unfortunately, Eva and Willy have not been able to visit Sabrina directly. Using every effort to keep their mother out of the house and create a big problem that can be detected easily by paparazzi. It was their turn to sacrifice themselves for everyone's peace.

"Cio.. Thirsty," Sabrina's raspy voice that woke up called out to her.

Mauricio set his breath, trying to rearrange his broken heart. He can't do this in front of Sabrina. Swiping her wet cheeks full of tears. He took a glass of mineral water from the nightstand next to the gurney, and helped Sabrina drink.

Without Mauricio knowing, Sabrina had witnessed him crying over Sabrina since then. Similarly, last night, he understood Mauricio was not unwilling to help separate. If Sabrina wanted to, Sabrina could also take care of herself without the help of others. But she didn't, because Amber was her mother. Wh why? Although Amber shut herself away from everyone, Sabrina could feel the emptiness in Amber's soul. There is a burden on its own that Amber is reluctant to share with anyone. Not everyone can see this side. Likewise with Mauricio, Sabrina had predicted he would react so when knowing everything, therefore Sabrina previously chose to save from Mauricio rather than later his mother received another hatred.

"I'm sorry that you have to see everything, you must have been shocked last night?"

"Why are you apologizing? I'm sorry Sabrina, you have to go through it all. What kind of friend am I to never know what's going on in your life?" Mauricio's defense collapsed, his cries broke again. The heartless Sabrina hugged him. "You're not responsible for what I've been through. After all, it was my decision not to share the story. It's not that I don't respect you as a friend who's been with me for a long time. You know, I have my own reasons too."

Unraveling his embrace, Mauricio's eyes pared at Sabrina's despair. "I want to help, is there nothing I can do for you?"

Sabrina patted Mauricio's shoulder. The sincerity Mauricio exuded for him was more than enough. At least the friendship that was established between them absolutely proved not to be mere discovery. "You've done it by always being there for me. You're my best friend, Cio." Sabrina hoped her words would be acceptable to Mauricio, comforting his grief.

Until the situation becomes much more conducive for Mauricio to open his mind. Stop protracted on one seemingly reluctant problem in Sabrina's big-time. Mauricio called the nurse to check Sabrina's current condition, and asked the patient's breakfast schedule. Not long after a nurse who happened to be driving around breakfast came, and did not forget to check on Sabrina.

"I was going to take Eri here" While arranging a tray containing breakfast on a special small dining table united with a gurney, Mauricio changed the topic to potentially provoke inner conflict. "Thank god, I didn't do it."

Last night after helping to get Amber home, Mauricio quickly gathered information to get Lucas' contacts. In the midst of the eternal, he finds himself stopping a car in the parking lot of Sabrina's apartment complex. Presumably his subconscious is moving in search of something left over from the friend he failed to keep, namely his daughter Asteria. He wanted to make sure that Asteria was okay, and her safety was maintained.

His steps were a little more slowly and stopped hearing the restrained stuffing, he felt it inappropriate to continue the steps and saw firsthand the appearance of Mauricio, who in fact was an adult man, was crying. Surely Mauricio would be ashamed if he saw, he decided to stand in his last place. Provides privacy, but at the same time he can still monitor Asteria's security.

Putting aside the fact that Mauricio was a close friend of Asteria's parents, he still had to be vigilant. Moreover, neither Sabrina nor Navis were in position.

"So, what's holding you back from bringing Asteria?"

Last night's memory rolled in Mauricio's mind, "Lucas."

Sabrina put on a puzzled expression, she did not understand the intentions of her best friend. Mauricio who realized, explained. "When I got in touch with him, and asked where you were. Lucas asked me where I was. I told him without feeling the need to lie. But just as he knew my plan, he asked me not to let the news of your situation be heard to Asteria. Especially taking him to see you. He's worried about the effect on Asteria and he says it'll make it harder on you."

No words came out of Sabrina's mouth, she didn't know what to respond to. The fact that Lucas saved him from Amber's rampage was already difficult for him to digest, the situation really feels strange now that Sabrina knows the other side of Lucas. Though she was cooperating with Sabrina's mother, shouldn't she be satisfied and look from a distance just knowing the extent of their relationship gap as Mother and child? Why would he go to such lengths to help Sabrina, which is tantamount to risking the continuation of his cooperation with Amber? In any case, his decision last night did not benefit him at all.

"I think we've met him long before. As soon as I saw him save you, I felt like deja vu." Mauricio tapped his index finger against his chin, trying to remember again.

"where possible. Just your feelings time." Sabrina brushed aside Mauricio's words. How could they have met Lucas, if he had he would have recognized the man immediately. Well, unless that guy just just walked through the streets. But Mauricio's intention was to meet that person, who they had at least seen many times or interacted with at least once.

Mauricio actually wanted to deny that he did not remember Sabrina's condition and their current situation. It was better that he swallow the argument, and shut up before finding the memory piece that was still a big question mark in his head. He will prove his suspicions later. "Oh, yes. I haven't notified Navis. Do you want to tell him?"

Instead of answering, Sabrina asked another question. "Did Gayoung also know about last night's mess?"

Mauricio shakes.

"Then it won't be." Chick Sabrina. "I'll be healed tomorrow. I'm fine and never been in the hospital, Cio." Sabrina said meaningfully. Mauricio who understood, heavy heart parroted. "You've never been in a hospital, Bri."
