Between The Leongs
One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

In the opinion of most people the highest achievement in life is achieving absolute success. Literally, property, ruling, and recognized in the view of all circles as a figure that is not easily reached. Being part of the capitalist group is more detailed. Who does not crave his privilege especially in a time of consciousness like now?

That brings Lucas to that point today. Despite being born into a lineage of well-known conglomerates, Lucas has been nothing but the last name Leong for at least the past four years.

"Well, to Mr. Lucas Leong or his lawyer as the plaintiff is welcome to submit his information and any points that if you want to be agreed."

"Thank you.." Samuel suddenly had to hold his voice out even more, as by his side Lucas raised his hand giving him a gesture.

Lucas cleared his throat, "I'll deliver my own piece. As long as this is not a trial, I think there is no harm in me speaking more casually right mediator?"

"Yes, it's okay. Both parties are allowed to do so, as long as they are comfortable. How's Miss Sabrina?"

"I don't mind, as long as the plaintiff still applies according to manners." Sabrina said with calmness, her gaze seemed cold when she passed Lucas's bead.

"She doesn't remember me, isn't she?" Lucas murmured inwardly, his gaze unshakeable from Sabrina who was sitting gracefully before him.

"May I ask you a few questions about my son?"

"Don't you figure it all out? And, don't be too quick to claim my son as your son. I have the full right to demand your return, even if in reality you are related. You know what contract you've signed, if you're the one?" Sabrina said to the point, he was fed up with the behavior of Lucas who tried too hard to get closer.

It's naive that he thinks Sabrina doesn't know how the conglomerates move. Even ordinary people clearly know this most basic thing.

"I knew you would happen like this. And have prepared everything so as not to lose whatever you draw in the future, Mrs Sabrina."

Gestures relaxed body, and a tone of speech that does not reflect the slightest trepidation Lucas really disturbing Sabrina's reasoning. With a stifled emotion Sabrina clenched her hands under the table, "Yes, you better be. Because I make sure your opponent is not someone who is easy to beat and not someone who likes defeat."

Lucas's feelings began to rage. Sabrina does not seem to catch the intention of Lucas who wants to discuss the matter of their baby in a good way.

"I was wrong, I admit. But I can't stop thinking about my son's whereabouts and wanting to take part in his life before it's too late. I've been through a lot of development."

Sabrina snorted, "Legally, materially, especially inwardly, my son never lacked anything. He was raised by the figure of the best father, he was fine and grew into a jolly child. Although you will later prove to be his biological father, you will be nothing more than a stranger. So I don't think there's anything you need to worry about, nothing too late coming into my son's life. Because you were never part of our family."

Lucas' lips clenched, tight.

Every word of Sabrina is not lost to the truth. Lucas knew that the only mistake he had was the existence of his one-sided feelings. He has been trying to prepare himself for years.

Even so, his heart was still not ready and it hurt when he heard everything coming out of Sabrina's mouth.

"The best thing you can do is stay as far as you can from her, if you really think that she is your biological daughter. That's it." Close Sabrina firmly.

His back was slowly getting further and further away from Lucas' radar.

"What are you doing?!" The voice call of the middle-aged woman that Sabrina did not ignore became a distraction for Lucas.

Typical elegant and arrogant self-carrying. Is correct. Lucas remembers who he is despite his stature being far enough away to be recognizable.

The reason Lucas realized, being a coward who chose to save his feelings for someone because of inferiority is a big stupidity.

Lucas's feet moved by themselves towards the figure Sabrina had seen as the nightmare of her life.

Amber nodded softly after sipping her chosen chamomile tea. Agreeing the opinion in his head that he never made a mistake in choosing.

"I won't hear a thank you instead from a Leong Group CEO?" Offend Amber intentionally.

He was quite curious as to how far Lucas had changed, other than his storied status compared to the last they met.

"of course. I can't possibly thank your cruel man Mrs Hirai. But, I also cannot deny the fact that without our encounters in the past, I would not be who I am today."

Amber's lips turned sideways, "Look, who said cruel. Then what about your own Mr Leong? Aren't you planning to destroy the career of my son that I've taken care of and raised his hard-earned name, as well as his harmonious family?"

Lucas flinched, inwardly strengthening himself to focus more on his ultimate goal of changing his whole life. Guilt should not be consumed, this is all just part of the process. The important thing was that he knew he never had bad intentions towards anyone else. And Lucas hopes Sabrina can understand what Lucas meant.

"Aren't you the one who knows best, that everything I've built over the years to support Sabrina's future popularity?"

"Then use Asteria as a pawn? You know it was a waste? Ckcc.. You have quite disappointed my expectations, Mr. Leong."

"Regarding Asteria purely on my will as her real father. I'm not as cute as you Mrs Hirai."

"Squeaky?" Amber's eyebrows cringed.

He had quietly finished scanning, reading and judging Lucas' entire body language like a wide-open page.

"Mr Leong, you hurt my feelings. Really am. Is this why you invited me to tea together? If so, we'd better finish the meeting up here." He continued, he had an uncomfortable expression that was clearly made up. Covertly toying with Lucas, urging him to explain what it means to honestly ask for Amber's free time.

Lucas smiled faintly. "You're very impatient Mrs Hirai. I still want to talk a little. All right, let's discuss the deal you're looking forward to."

"A few moments earlier you insulted me. Now, you want to make a deal?"

"I'm just trying to be an honest person, ma'am. Even if you are an enemy to Sabrina, even my daughter. I still need you to approach them first to save them all at once." Lucas did not hide his heart at all.

The intensity around them increases. Neither Lucas nor Amber would budge to break eye contact. Amber almost amazed Lucas made the change.

"intriguing. I like your new personality, Mr. Leong."

The goddess Fortuna began to side with Lucas.
