Hana went home with her grandmother. He took his grandmother back home. And for a while, her grandmother was on an outpatient medication due to hospitalization costs and surgery costs for her dearest grandmother, Hana did not have one yet.
"How much was Grandma's medicine, Hana?"
"Grandmother should not think about the cost. The important thing is that the medicine can be redeemed" said Hana.
Heart medications are pretty expensive too, huh? Half of my piggy bank was used to make up for Grandma's medicine. But not papa. The most important thing was Grandma's health. Money I can find again. Inner Hana while making warm tea for her grandmother.
Hana covers her grandmother with a thick blanket after feeding her grandmother porridge and eating medicine. Hana hugged her grandmother and said softly in her grandmother's ear, "Hana is very dear to Grandma. Grandma has to be strong and have to live long, huh? So that Hana can hug Grandma like this for a long time"
Her grandmother Hana stroked the back of Hana's hand that was holding her stomach and her grandmother Hana said, "Yes. Grandma will live long for Grandma's favorite granddaughter"
After her grandmother falls asleep, Hana wakes up to reopen a large brown envelope that the university does not finance the cost of the practice exam. If there is a practice exam, students must prepare their own fees. Hana reads the cost of a practice exam, once the practice exam holds the cost up to one million rupiah and there will be many practice exams at the medical faculty.
Hana raised her face to throw away the pain of her heart and to hold back her tears that were about to fall. He was indeed poor but, had a high enough prestige to shed tears.
After successfully mastering all the flavors that raged inside her chest, Hana then muttered, "Why is fate so cruel to me? Why. destiny chose me to make him an orphan when I was very young? And now, just as I was about to grasp my dream, I had to be willing to take it back because Grandma was sick and it cost me a lot. What's my fault in fate, why is he so cruel to me?"
Hana then opens her school bag to pick up books and stationery. Over two hours Hana worked on two reports with different themes. It was quite physically exhausting but, strangely both his eyes still did not want to be closed.
Hana then reached into her bag to retrieve the book she had borrowed in the school library for free. The book was titled, 'How to change one's life destiny for the better'
Hana underlines three main things that must be done by someone if they want to change their bad destiny. Then Hana closed the book in annoyance while muttering, "I've been praying every day, doing good deeds and working hard but, why is fate still cruel to me? My circumstances haven't changed at all and now I feel heavier because Grandma's sick"
Hana put all the books into her school bag that she made herself by hand-sewn from used cloth. Quite durable fabric bag made by himself, has accompanied his days on the bench of the High School for almost three years. Then he threw himself back in bed, hugged his grandmother's thin body and closed his eyes to try to get into the dreamland and try to run away from the reality that was always bitter he felt.
The next day, as usual, Hana woke up at four in the morning. Cooking rice and complementing rice sit like chocolate eggs, dried tempeh. For the unison, he makes it every two weeks on Sundays. After everything was done, Hana cooked the porridge for her grandmother and made a warm tea.
Hana wiped her lips affectionately after feeding her grandmother the porridge and helped her grandmother take medicine.
"Maybe you're not as lucky as everyone else, but, other people aren't necessarily around you, Nduk. Grandma prays you are always given health and good luck" Her grandmother Hana stroked the back of her hand Hana held.
Hana smiled widely to hold back her tears that instantly wanted to spill. Even to accept the prayer spoken from her grandmother's lips, Hana was unable to. Hana could not accept disappointment anymore because the word amen she often said from good prayers, none of which had ever materialized in Hana's life.
Hana kissed her grandmother's cheek and said, "Grandmother rest huh? Don't get out of bed during Hana school, huh Nek?! Drinks and food have been put on the table by the bed"
Hana then went to school on foot. He feels sorry if he has to take the bus. Money for a good bus he could collect to buy medicine for his grandmother.
Arriving at school, Hana's uniform is wet with sweat.Walking from home to school is indeed quite far.
Deo took off his jacket and he gave it to Hana, "Wear my jacket! Your uniform is wet and the t-shirt in you looks"
Deo is a classmate of Hana's who once expressed her feelings for Hana. Although Hana refuses her love, Deo does not hate Hana. Deo still loves and cares for Hana.
"Thank you" Hana said while wearing Deo's jacket.
"I walk from home to here" Sahut Hana with a flat face due to fatigue.
"Drink first!" Deo gives his green Tumbler to Hana.
Hana puts her bag on the bench and receives her green Tumbler Deo which contains warm milk chocolate flavor.
Hana frowned, "Brown milk?"
"Yes. I need milk every day because there will be a basketball race soon" Deo said as he put his bag next to Hana's stool.
Deo and Hana have been friends since the first grade of High School.
"Why do you give it to me if you need milk?" ask Hana.
Deo smiled, "You need more nutrition than I do. I can buy milk later in the cafeteria. Have you had breakfast?" ask Deo.
Hana shook her head. Hana never had time for breakfast and fortunately her stomach was very understanding and never screamed protest to Hana to ask to be filled.
"I brought bread. Eat up! I'm surprised you, you rarely eat breakfast but, your brain can be so diluted and never sleepy in class hours" Deo said as he pulled out the Maths book.
Hana ate Deo's bread quickly after saying a word of thanks because in five minutes, the Math teacher would enter their class.
Just as Hana swallowed her last loaf of bread, the Math teacher entered their class.
During the first hour break, Hana asks Deo, "I need a job, Yo"
"You are selling rice in the market. If you work again, when is the time? When can you learn? You already got a scholarship to go to medical school, right? Next week we start going to college" Deo said.
"Grandmother's sick. It cost me quite a lot and it looks like the scholarship I won't be receiving"
"Sick grandmother? How much will it cost? I can lend you money. You can pay by taking it. No need to work anymore. Why didn't you get that scholarship?"
"The scholarship only funds public courses. For the practice exam, we have to pay for it ourselves and the cost is quite large. I don't think I'll be able to fulfill it"
Deo looked at Hana with sadness. Then he said, "My father has friends. His friend had a pretty big cafe. If you want, I can put you in as an employee there but, please don't refuse that scholarship! That's your dream"
Hana immediately clasped Deo's hand so excited, "I want to work there. When's? Later tonight?"
"Promise me you won't let go of the scholarship"
"Yes I promise" Hana said because for him the most important thing is that he can find extra money to prepare for his grandmother's operation.
