A Butterfly That Can'T Fly

A Butterfly That Can'T Fly
The warmest winter

Falling snowflowers signify autumn is over, and the coming of winter, is certainly very cold for someone who is very fond of winter.

Alurra, looking at his empty firewood storage with a long, empty breath, there was no pile of wood there, he forgot to buy firewood stock for his home heater.

Yes, he knows now that there are many sophisticated heating devices scattered and sold anywhere, Alurra once bought it, but man-made tools are very quickly damaged and expensive. He should skimp.

In this day and age it is very difficult to make money, electricity bills alone have not been paid. It must have been Alurra wanted to cry to see that pile of electricity bill paper.

Forget about it, it looks like Alurra has to buy fuelwood stock, it is a little difficult to get it because very few humans use firewood to warm the house, but that does not mean there is no. The old uncle near his house was selling firewood, very lucky.

Alurra began to wear a thick and dull parka jacket to prevent cold air from touching his skin, not to forget the brown boots that had faded color also worn.

He walked towards the old uncle's firewood stall which was a few alleys away from his house, the stall was an old stall which if kicked a little might collapse.

Stepping towards the entrance and opening it, there was an old man who was cutting wood to a medium size.

"Uncle" the sound of Alurra flowing made the man turn his head, then walk towards the pile of cut wood.

"Like last year, why not just buy a warm room?" The old man lifted the pile of wood and walked up to Alurra and handed the pile of wood to Alurra, ugh, will the old body not be broken?

"Thank you, the price as usual right," he put a few pieces of money on the table, "cheaper, man-made expensive and quickly broken"

"Alright, at least I got the money from you"

The man laughs, you know how the old man laughs, Imagine him laughing with his porous teeth while holding his stomach, and finally coughing, for laughing too much.

"Right, I'll keep giving you money during the winter"

Alurra returned to her house, lit firewood, put a chair near the furnace where she would sleep. In winter, he would only sleep on a shabby sofa that had been torn off at the back.

The firewood stove was too far from his bed, and the winter was too cold.

At nightfall, he had dinner with his own cooked omlet, though it was very salty. As the final mouthful was about to enter his mouth, a knock on the door sounded.

"Who?"

Alurra shouted, no answer. He stood up and walked towards the door and opened it. There's no one.

"Hey, is it nice to knock on a woman's door at night?"

Alurra shouted back. Still no answer. The sound of crickets made the incident more awkward.

He closed the door and turned around, towards the small wooden table that looked weathered and eaten by termites, where he had eaten.

The remaining omlet one mouthful disappeared, the drinking water inside the moss-green cup also disappeared.

Alurra's afraid. The window near the bed was not closed. He started thinking about the horror movie scenes he watched last year by raising money little by little.

The strange incident frightened him, the darkness outside the window added to this creepy atmosphere.

Hurry up to close the window. However, the movement in the small wooden cabinet near the bed stopped his actions.

"Who's there?"

There was no answer, however, the movements within it were increasingly audible.

Alurra ventured to approach the old cupboard that might be damaged if the shaking increased. When his hand was about to grab the closet, suddenly the closet was open.

He reflexively retreated, yelling and kicking whatever just came out of the closet.

A man, golden winged. And a mouse.

Alurra never imagined that there was a human in his closet.

Curious. Alurra wanted to hold the wings on the young man's back, checking if they were real or fake. However, not until the hand of the groinra, the man got up and curled up near the bed. To take the opportunity to escape.

Alurra quickly ran towards the window and closed it.

"Who are you?"

Very shameless, right, just casually going into someone's house and then wanting to leave.

"Who are you?"

Alurra approached him which made the man even more curled up to the wall near the bed.

"I'm just hungry,"

He took the opportunity to go under the bed and hide.

"Outside the snow is falling, I'm separated from my friend"

His voice was shaking, it seemed like it was going to cry. The more she spoke her voice grew more vibrating, Alurra took out a flashlight, under the bed very dark.

The flashlight made the man glare, his face was red, his nose was like a cold, and his eyes were watery. She's gonna cry.

"Stop, please, I just stopped by for a little while because it's out in the snow and I'm hungry"

Alurra turned off the flashlight, then sat down on a chair near the furnace of fire.

"Then get out of there and talk,"

It seemed like the man was still willing to listen to people, he finally came out and walked carefully to the side of the closet.

His appearance was clearer now. Her watery eyes are yellowish orange, and her hair is red which makes her very sweet.

Never in her lifetime, Alurra saw a human who looked like that, very beautiful. Wearing long-sleeved clothes and black puffy pants make it like a figure out of a fairy tale.

"I have no evil intentions"

his face had a serious expression as if what he said was not a lie. Alurra was confused, where did this strange person come from. They dress like medieval men. Very old.

"Then where are you from? Why did you break into my house without permission?"

He looked nervous, his eyes were not focused on looking in different directions, looking for comfort. He just kept quiet, opened his mouth wanting to say something, but stopped and swallowed his words back.

"Then I'll call the police"

"Don't! I'm not a bad guy,"

He approached making Alurra wary. Then stop when it's a few steps away from Alurra. Sitting on the wooden floor without any pedestal and staring at Alurra.

"I'm really not a bad person. I told you I'm starving, separated from my friends and coming here because it's snowing"

He looked around, making sure that there were only the two of them there. Then he looked back at Alurra.

"Maybe you won't believe it, I'm not human"

Alurra fell silent, then laughed. Imagine today who would believe? Much of the knowledge in the world has developed and has never been found other creatures than humans, animals, and plants. Then he's an animal? Or plants?

"Then what are you? Fairy?"

The man flinched, relaxed again as Alurra laughed, then looked annoyed. He's serious, not lying.

"I'm not human. Like fairies but not like the fairies you humans call fairy tales. We call ourselves Elves"

"The one you call in the fairy tale is called Divs. They're evil creatures, completely different from fairies in human fairy tales"

He was very excited when explaining about Elves and his face changed when mentioning Divs. He looks angry.

Alurra remained in disbelief, of course. Such a thing could not exist in the world he thought. If there must have been found humans thousands of years ago. He believed that it was just another party's lie to avoid punishment.

The man seemed to know that Alurra was still doubting him, then he stood walking closer and closer to Alurra. As he stood in front of her, he snapped his finger.

Fire appeared, making Alurra feel warm and surprised. It was never imagined by her that something like this existed in the world.
