The Season of Love

The Season of Love
Morning Story

The sun had not yet risen, but the sky was not dark. The cold air followed the Eagle's hasty steps to his mother's resting place. The bouquet of white roses in the Eagle's hands was still very fresh, spreading a fragrant aroma in each Eagle's steps that were slightly hurried.

The gravestone lined up neatly. Dew still drips from frangipani leaves that shade the ground beneath it. It was still too early, still quiet as the Eagle climbed block after block of public funerals where his mother rested.

The headstone reads Eliza Maharani to be the goal of the Eagle, block F of the front row. The eagle crouched down, placed a flower in front of the headstone and began to raise his hands to the chest to pray. The sad and solemn look was frozen together with the cold air.

It took some time for the Eagle to normalize his cold face again after being dissolved in prayer, hope and the outpouring of grief of a child whose mother had left him.

"Ma .. This is Eagle! Sorry two weeks did not look at mama, many eagle busy on campus. Research and also exercise. Today Eagle wants to participate in the race, doain wins yes, Ma! Sorry, Eagle can not be the child you expect, but Eagle still trying to be the pride of mama. I love you, Ma!"

The eagle smiled sadly as he rubbed the headstone, looking down to tidy up the tomb from frangipani leaves and flowers that had dried. Before long, he stood up reluctantly. His voice was choppy as he said goodbye, "See you later, Ma! May you be happy there!"

The eagle inching left the funeral with a hardened heart. The pain is still there, there is still plenty, but there is nothing the Eagle can do but keep everything in memory. He misses the woman who gave birth to him.

Eagle's car drove slowly towards the house. He decided to go home for a while before leaving for the race. Last week the eagle did not have time to go home because of the dense activities. The eagle couldn't ignore his father's message last night asking him to come home. There's something important he said he wanted to convey to the Eagle.

One time the horn was sounded and the gate of his house was wide open. The eagle entered the courtyard and parked the car haphazardly. The motor is invisible, meaning the god did not return home last night.

After saying a simple greeting, the Eagle sat at the dinner table, waiting for the meal hour to arrive. He wanted to have breakfast with his parents.

"Eagle want to drink warm or cold?" ask her family's housekeeper politely.

"Warm tea. God is not home?"

"Not coming home, Mom! Hear yesterday join his friends club touring to Magelang same Purworejo."

"Ohya? Since when did he participate in the activities of the children's motorcycle club?" The eagle picked up his cell phone and sent a message to his sister to immediately exchange vehicles.

"Lack of understanding, Mom! Yesterday many of his friends came here, gathering before leaving."

"Mom gave permission?" asked the curious eagle.

"Yes," replied Imah while arranging the dining table and preparing breakfast. "And it's not kidding, it's not clear, in order to tour meatballs, to what village I forgot."

The sound of footsteps approached the dining table. The Eagle's father appears with his wife, the God's mother.

"You came in the morning, El. Papa's waiting for you from last night."

"I'm busy training, I can only stop by for a minute. I've finished looking at my mom and today I have a race, after breakfast I'm off." The eagle drank his tea after giving a complete description that his parents need to know.

"When are you really going home?" ask Papa Eagle seriously. "This house is big, El. This is your home, and the atmosphere is quiet because you don't want to live here."

"Later after graduation I'm home!"

Papa Eagle took a heavy breath and breathed it long. "It's been almost five years and you still can't accept the situation. El, Papa's getting older and you're supposed to be mature, we're together less and less. Later if you are married, you will be busy with your family, there will be no more togetherness at the dinner table like this. Go home, Son! Think of your papa's request!"

The eagle was silent, eating breakfast with a worried heart and a face that focused only on the contents of the plate in front of him. "It's not possible now!"

The eagle answered lazily, "Good."

"There's no progress? When are we going to his parents and formally ask the girl to be your wife. At least you got engaged first."

"Not anytime soon."

"You want to make Mama happy, right? Mayra is your mom's best choice candidate, El!" lure daddy Eagle seriously. Usually the Eagle is easily conquered if it has brought the name of the woman who gave birth to it.

"Yes, but not for now. I want to continue my studies again after graduation," replied the Eagle not interested. "I don't want to get married!"

The Eagle's father nodded with a face of disapproval. It turns out that the Eagle is still difficult to arrange for his personal affairs, unlike when his mother was still there. Their relationship deteriorated because the Eagle still held anger in his father.

"There are things you should understand about papa from now on, El. In addition to getting older, papa's health is also declining. You don't want to lose papa anytime soon, do you?"

The eagle raised his gaze until he looked at the middle-aged man opposite his desk. "Papa sick?"

"Go home, accompany me in this house. Papa wants to have good memories before you get married and leave papa with your new activities. Give me some time to be with you before I catch up with your mama."

“But Pa ...” The eagle glanced at his mother God, then undoed his intention of speaking.

“Think of this with a cool and mature head, El. You are 22 years old, you should be able to understand the position of papa and mother here. We are your parents, we love you. Nothing has changed from papa, El!”

The Eagle's father complained inwardly. The eagle still does not accept the position of his mother replaced by others. Not wanting to understand the situation of his father who needs support and a companion to spend old age.

"I understand." The eagle nodded faintly. Lack of confidence in what his father said. If his father is dear, shouldn't he consider the Eagle's opinion when he gets married again?

"Who will take care of your business if you don't care like this?"

The eagle could not answer. The business of his father's lodging can not be said to be small, and has been taken care of with the mother of God. The eagle is the sole heir, but his heart is still not knocked to join the plunge into the world that his father wrestled with.

"Elang hasn't graduated yet, Pa!" reject the Eagle indirectly. "Later on, there's a mother helping me."

"Go home, stay here, El! Accompany papa! We are family!" The same sentence, the same request was repeated again by the old man staring at the Eagle with a sad face.

"Yes, Pa!" the Eagle hesitated. At least one of those words could make his papa silent and willing to wait for his return that somehow happened.

The eagle finished his breakfast then went up to the second floor to pick up something from inside the room. Before long, the Eagle had come down again and told his father to leave for the race. “Wish Eagle wins, Pa!”

“Definitely! Papa always prays for your success,” replied the Eagle's father encouragingly by patting his son's shoulder. "Aren't you asking for more money this month?"

"Mom gave you something extra before I asked." The eagle shouts his mother and clears only by nodding his head.

Without looking again, the Eagle went out of the house and went to the university where the wall climbing competition was held.
