Megan laughed at Dalton's words asking her to marry him.

"I'm not kidding Megan. Does my face look like I'm joking?" ask Dalton

The woman instantly stopped her small laughter, swallowing her suddenly dry saliva. He turned the corner to the left, facing Dalton.

"Why do you want to marry me? We don't know each other yet. You don't know my family either. And I don't know you much, either" Megan said

"I think the most important thing is comfort. Honestly, I'm comfortable being around you, when you're a new person who comes into my life and always makes trouble. But in the end, my feelings cannot be masked if I always miss your figure" Dalton said

"Maybe comfort is one of them, but we need to get to know each other, especially. We marry not just two people, but two families,"

"So the point is, what about you? Are you willing to marry me?"

Megan chuckles a little

"Why are you laughing?"

"It's not romantic at all,"

"I can't be romantic" Dalton looked at Megan who kept smiling. Embarrassed himself and Dalton could see the awkwardness within him.

The rain kept pouring down, while they were still in the car talking seriously. For a long time they looked at each other, smiled stiffly, and embarrassed.

"Yes, I am willing to marry you," Megan replied increasingly unsettling the smile of the man in front of her.

Dalton approached, stroking Megan's cheek with his left hand. Apparently Dalton was holding back his tears of happiness. Megan was the same, both of them did not want to show a sense of wonder. But when Megan's eyes closed from feeling the warm touch of Dalton's hand, she shed tears.

Dalton moved closer to his body, kissed Megan's lips and took a deep sip. Then let go and said, "Thank you Megan, tonight I'll talk to your parents,"

"Now?"

"Yes, now. I'll marry you from tomorrow,"

"Well, but it's too soon.. And again my father's not home" Megan said

"You agreed to marry me, so when we get married, you just have to follow" Dalton said selfishly and kissed Megan on the lips.

Megan did not speak anymore, as if she was hypnotized, carried away by a seductive love. Dalton's touch and kisses were opiate for him. What if they are married. Maybe Megan will adore Dalton even more behind her imperfect physique.

The rain subsided, leaving a slight drizzle. The two get down and out of the car and into Megan's parents' house.

Dalton enters his dark yard, his porch lights off only the lawn lights are alive. Megan opened the door with a spare key. When it opened, he allowed Dalton to enter

"Let's go in, I'll call Mom first yeah" Megan said

"Hmm," Dalton answered just a throb

The man took a look at the atmosphere of the house that Megan occupied. Smaller than his house when he was a child, the lights were not too bright. Even with a few lights on, Dalton could feel how Megan saved her electricity. But the house is very clean.

There is a photo on the wall, a photo of Megan as a child as well as a photo of her mother when she was young. Megan once told me she had a sister, but there were no pictures of her sister there. There are no pictures of his father either. Then Dalton sat down, waiting for the future in-law to come.

Dalton talks pleasantries about Megan speaking at her company until Megan returns to the living room.

Megan brought three warm teas to the front of the living room and served them to Dalton and her mother and herself.

"Please drink it, sir" said Megan

"Sir?"

"Haha sorry habit," Megan chuckled as she forgot if Dalton asked her not to call him Sir if it was out of the office.

After Dalton drank his warm tea, Megan's mother asked directly

"So...you mean to meet me what's wrong?" gloria said, Megan's mother

His face was pale, his cheekbones were prominent. There was a dark circle of sunken and enlarged under his eyes. Dalton increasingly could not bear to linger talking because his own condition is not fit. Dalton even more want to accelerate his marriage after seeing the condition of Megan's family life.

"I came here and met Mom, because I wanted to propose to Megan. I want to marry Megan as soon as I can, ." Dalton hasn't finished talking Gloria's breathless.

Megan ran straight to her mother's room and took her inhaled medicine for her shortness of breath. Dalton got up from his seat and immediately sat down to approach Megan's mother

"Mom's okay? We're going to the doctor now" Dalton said but Gloria directly touched Dalton's shoulder and shook her head. After feeling a little better, Megan's mother began to talk

"No need for Dalton, no need to go to the hospital. I was just surprised to hear what was delivered so suddenly. Not why it's just that Megan has always confessed if she does not have a lover then suddenly she comes with you and immediately proposes to her. It surprised me" Gloria said

They began to talk seriously about their relationship. Dalton also expressed his earnest wishes about his wishes. Finally without a long debate Gloria agreed.

"Well then, if you both like it, it is better to be immediately legal and religious. I agree and approve of your relationship" said Gloria

"But it's good to wait for Dad's decision" Megan said

"Your father? He's already dead. How many years he never gave any news, gave us a living instead added to the burden," said Gloria whose eyes immediately turned in front of him, there was a boy who was peeking behind the curtain

"The wedding will be done in his absence" said Gloria then she wanted to re-enter to rest.

Dalton is not feeling well on his own. He thinks that if Megan's family is okay, in fact, her father is the source of her family's problems.

Megan covered her face with both hands. Dalton brought her closer to Megan's seat after her mother went inside.

The man stroked Megan's back with his arm only at the elbow.

"I'm sorry, it's all because I'm in too much of a hurry, but I mean want to marry you right away and bring all your family to my house, our house, for your family life to improve," dalton said cautiously

Megan opened her arms, the woman was crying and she hugged Dalton and shed her tears in her arms. A few minutes after Megan cried she started talking.

"No, you're not wrong. Dad never came home. If one of us is sick, he never comes to visit. But every now and then he asked me about my mother and my half-sister. Give me some time, if in five days Dad still can't be contacted, then we'll stay married in his absence" Megan and Dalton said.

If Megan's father remains unreachable, they will keep the wedding simple, without any extravagant celebrations. That's Megan's request.
